WE approached W. H. Kay at a time when they were being asked to do a lot of work and so could not carry out our job until spring 2022. However, they said if it was possible they would come before that. This is what they did. It was timely because shortly afterwards there was a spate of very wet weather.
The job involved accessing a roof and replacing broken pantiles and related repairs.
We are very pleased with their work.

Remove broken guttering from Conservatory and replace with new to match existing. In addition, grind out old cement on front roof, repoint with colour mixed waterproof material.
Remove all rubbish.

We have used the boys before and would do so again. We find them to be wholly reliable, very professional and extremely thorough. They are a pleasure to deal with and would highly recommend them.

David was recommended by a neighbour and replaced a zinc ridge on our roof that had come off in a storm. He did this to a very high standard and at the same time checked the roof slates, replacing or refixing as needed. He did a great job, came when he said he would and gave us great confidence in the work done.

A number of tiles came loose on our B listed roof during a recent storm. All repairs carried out efficiently and our blocked gutters were also cleared. Good communication, and really nice guys. Will definitely recommend them, and will use the company again

Replaced cement on gable and repaired and improved drainage on gutters at roof level. David was very honest and straightforward about constraints in scheduling work and willing to negotiate around start times. Performed work to high standard in time specified and cleared up well and kept to estimate on quoted invoice.

David and colleague removed an old flue from our flat roof, following a change from oil fired heating to all electric. They sealed the hole with bitumen and also covered the hole in the house with plywood. This only took a few hours one morning. The guys worked away quietly, cleared up and took away all old parts when finished. Never knew they had been other than having a nice flat roof again! Their details are now in our contacts list and will surely use again.

David has completed many jobs for us over the years and he and his brother are exacting and reliable workers. This time we were having wooden wardrobe doors fitted. As usual the work was immaculate with everything left tidy when the job was finished. We are very happy with the work. W H Kay repaired and replaced iron rones on our 2-storey house - scaffolding was required.

This trader arrived at the time arranged and completed the work to a high standard, as per our agreement and estimate. The site was tidied at the end of each day and the work was carried out quietly and efficiently, At all times we were kept informed of progress.

We have used this trader before and will not hesitate to use them again.

Replacement of timber patio door and backdoor with PVC. The company were very reliable, arrived when they said and we were kept informed of times and progress of the work. The work was done efficiently and to a high standard, the job was left clean and tidy. Very pleased with end result, quality workmanship and doors installed. Would happily use W. H. I had contacted several firms to do this work who never responded. When I contacted David he responded promptly giving me a quote and an estimated date for the work. On the day he turned up when he said he would and completed the work in a professional and friendly manner.

This time it was only the annual gutter cleaning, which they did very efficiently & in their usual friendly way, including telling me what they would be doing.
I'm also pleased to say they went one step further, with my permission, & repositioned & repaired some loose slates, so my roof would be sound again for any winter weather, thank you.

David is extremely friendly and helpful, as are the guys who attended with him to carry out the work. On each visit, from the quote to final installation David arrived exactly when he said he would. The work itself was carried out to an exceptional standard.
Whilst replacement of the upstairs windows was in progress it was noticed that our guttering was leaking, so they also carried out repairs as required.
Prior to leaving, the guys ensured that everything was clean and tidy.
We would definitely use this company again, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others.

Alan and William restored our faith in tradesmen after a bad experience. They were professional from point of providing the quote to finishing the job. The standard of service and workmanship was second to none. They did exactly what they said they would do and more. Would highly recommend these guys and if we should need any work carried out in the future they will be our first port of call.

Alan and David have now done three pieces of work for us. The latest was the removal of an old garage which had an asbestos roof. Alan arranged all the necessary with the third party contractors who were removing the roof. As always he was great at communicating with us too, ensuring that we knew exactly what was happening, when and what was needed. Alan and David took the block work down and as always left the site spotless. This pair have an eye for detail, they are great craftsmen and totally trustworthy and reliable.
