This traderrepaired the flashing around the solar panes on my roof. They did the work at a time suitable to us, were quick and explained what needed repaired and what they had done to repair it. Very happy with W. H. Kay.

I contacted W H Kay when we experienced water ingress to a first floor dormer window in our 1940s semi detached. David responded quickly and unlike others, checked the roof immediately instead of doing it from the ground. He removed a couple of tiles and discovered the problem, returned to ground level for some supplies and fixed the issue there and then. I then asked him to check some guttering and he completed a really good temporary fix ahead of returning after Xmas to replace two lengths of guttering. I’d asked him to also check a corner joint and rather than charge for another length, he used the removed damaged section to manufacture a replacement corner joint on site. Excellent communication and immediately generated a sense of trust. He’s going into the contact book as my first call in the event of any future repair work on the house!

I had a new loft hatch and ladder fitted including insulation, 3 double glazed window units replaced and shower screen fitted.

I have used this company before and David and Alan are excellent professionals. They are completely reliable, come when they say they will come, undertake the work very effectively, clean up afterwards and nothing is too much bother. They provide an excellent, quality service.

W.H. Kay renewed a corner of plastic guttering at the front of our house, and also reset and stuck in place a couple of lose roof tiles at the rear of our house - due to wind damage.

We are very happy with these repairs. David and Alan came out to do the work, and we found them to be professional, happy, and easy to work with. This company had done some work for us in the past to a very satisfactory standard, and as a result we had no hesitation in contacting them again to do these most recent repairs. They respond to your e-mails. They admit that they are very busy with work, but they will make time for you, if you are willing to wait a few weeks for the work to be done. Unlike some companies nowadays, they are able/willing to do small repairs/jobs - not just the big jobs. So we would very much recommend them.

We needed some very old doors replaced and some other doors eased to fit. There were also several door closing mechanisms to remove. This is in a very old house where no job is ever simple and all the doors were on a squint. There is no such thing as a right angle here!
The work was planned meticulously and the doors they supplied are excellent quality. They look great, and it has made a huge difference for a really great price. Furthermore, the guys fixed a loose footplate and sorted out a badly damaged door architrave where a lock had been gouged out by a previous occupant some point in the past, without extra charge.
I highly recommend this company and will return to them again when more joinery is required here.

Alan and David Kay were asked to carry out repairs to an interior wall prior to the refitting of a radiator.
We have used Alan and David on several occasions before and their work is first class and cannot be faulted. They are exceptionally professional and reliable and we would recommend them without hesitation.

Our kitchen roof was in a bad state after storm Arwen. A neighbour recommended David so I rang him on the Sunday lunchtime fully expecting to get a voice mail since I recognised demand for roofers would be massive! David answered, discussed the damage and after I mailed photos had sent me a quote by mid afternoon - amazing given the circumstances. Even better was he rang me on the Monday morning to say his first job he'd had to cancel as there was no power so he was on his way. Really efficient and will do their very best to help you out. They came and promptly fixed the broken parts with much better quality materials and did a thorough inspection and fixed any other damaged parts. Definitely keeping this number in my phone book and would recommend to anyone needing roofer/builder.

Removal of cracked iron downpipe and replacement. Very happy with the work undertaken - before David arrived the area that the pipe was in and surrounding drains was in a poor state. Following the work it's completely transformed. Not only was new case iron pipe installed but existing loose drain covers fixed in place, and loose tap fixed to wall.

Excellent communications and very reliable. I would recommend highly.

We had some roof damage following Storm Éowyn - some ridge tiles lifted and damaged a number of other tiles as a result.
David came out to see us very quickly afterwards, surveyed the damage and provided photographs. The work was completed quickly and all the debris cleanly removed. We've used William H Kay on a number of previous occasion and have always been impressed by their professionalism and the quality of their work. I'd always recommend them for building work.

Three new windows fitted in one day - all done very efficiently and cleanly. The quality of fit and finish inside and outside around the window frames is excellent - we're very happy with the result. The windows have made a tremendous difference to the warmth of our house too. We'll certainly use WH Kay again for further home improvements and would recommend them.
