To remove all bathroom ware and set aside for refitting; to supply and fit new toilet pan; to repair leaking pipe under floor causing the damage; to lift all damp and wet flooring and floor joists in toilet area; to supply and fit new treated floor joists and new 22 mm treated chipboard flooring all glued and screwed; to reinstate all bathroom ware and shower screen; to strip off damp plaster at door and wall in bathroom and hall and re-plaster with damp proofing cement and plaster over.

Extras - to remove all joists and supply and fit new timber joists to all cast guttering at front of house; cut bolts off clean out joints; re-seal and re-bolt.

Also, remove old Perspex from sun house and supply and fit new laminated glass and various beads. Also, to remove plaster inside bathroom and plaster with damp proofing cement and plaster over.

I’ve used this company 4 or 5 times now for a whole range of work ( replacing glass in double glazed units, replacing concrete sills under windows and cleaning and repairing leaking rhones ) I’ve always found the guys did a good job, turned up when they said they would and delivered a good job and to their estimate. Replace roof window and renew lead surround, survey existing roof.

This was the first time I had used W H Kay and was thoroughly impressed with all aspects of the work undertaken. I had several quotes one of which claimed I needed to renew my whole roof surface.

Alan examined the roof and roof window and gave me an honest assessment. They turned up promptly, carried out the work with a minimum of disruption and kept me informed throughout the process. I found Alan extremely courteous and pleasant to deal with and will not hesitate to phone him for any future work.

David came out at short notice to fix a window which was jammed open. As always he was friendly, reliable and fixed the problem.

A great team, they came out to look at a leaking 40 year old flat roof and fixed it while they were here. They found the leak was mainly due to other reasons and they re sealed part of the roof edges.

wall repair

We had a blocked down-pipe on a double-height building. The blockage caused cascades of water on to the walls during heavy rainfall.
Mr Kay attended despite having a heavy workload and worked hard to clear the blockage but was unable to do so on the first visit. He returned within days and spent a considerable time on the job which eventually required the removal and replacement of some cast-iron piping.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the firm of W H Kay.

Some pantiles had broken or slipped, caused by a recent storm, and one had flown off a more inaccessible part of the roof which I hadn't expected them to fix, and for which they didn't quote.

However, they came exactly when they said they would, did the work quickly, including the extra piece of work, left no mess, and were pleasant and easy to deal with, so we've asked them to investigate another problem.

Annual roof check and replacement of slipped and fallen slates. The guys are great at prioritising what really needs done and what can safely wait. Communication about timescales is always very good as is the quality of work carried out.
