Business Information
With over 30 years experience in the Domestic Appliance Industry, I started my career with an Edinburgh firm, ACE Domestic Appliances. After 10 years service I moved to work with National Homecare (Servis UK) and was approached by Alan Wallace, of Wallace’s Domestic Appliances to take a position with his reputable company.
Having worked 18 years with Wallace’s I have now branched out to set up my own company, BR Domestic Appliance Specialist, based in Midlothian – covering Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Replacement of holed door seal on elderly Bosch washing machine.
Billy Rutherford came on time, was obviously very experienced and well-equipped with necessary tools and had correct part in his van. Pleasant manner, worked efficiently and repair completely successful. No hesitation about recommending him.

The website query form didn't seem to work for me, but rang them instead and received great quick service. They came the next day and put a new element and lamp in my Zanussi oven, no fuss and good overall experience. Will keep his card as my go-to person for domestic appliance repairs.

My 19 year old washing machine decided to stop spinning in the middle of a pandemic. I called Billy and he came within 24 hours (masked and gloved) and was able to repair the machine with great efficiency and skill. Very positive experience and have no hesitation in recommending him unreservedly. Thank you.

I called at 9am from Cockenzie, and had a visit early afternoon the same day.
All costs explained during the phone call, and the Engineer turned up exactly on time. Found the problem, and explained the full cost before starting work.
Work done was, quick and tidy. Everything working, and given all contact details for followup.
All in all, excellent service. Had my oven up and running the same day I called.

Billy was one of the few dishwasher repairers who cover the Peebles area. He responded very quickly when our dishwasher rinse aid flap broke and advised on how to get the correct part. He came when said he would come, was friendly, professional and had the problem sorted speedily. His charges are very fair. I would definitely recommend him.

Excellent service from BR Domestic! This was the first number I called and service could not have been better. Prompt attention, diagnosed and repaired the washing machine and even told me, in advance, what the charge would be. 5 stars all the way!

Tried living with a half functioning oven but one short visit and it’s sorted. Service was promt and he was totally up front with coatings through the whole process always checking I was happy to proceed. Happy to recommend or use again

There was a dishwasher problem in he flat. Although when switched on it made the right initial noises it failed to operate. I arranged a visit from Billy and he was able to sort the problem for a very reasonable price. I was impressed with how quickly he was able to fit in a visit and he came on time. I will certainly turn to BR Domestic first if I have repair problems in the future.
