Business Information
With over 30 years experience in the Domestic Appliance Industry, I started my career with an Edinburgh firm, ACE Domestic Appliances. After 10 years service I moved to work with National Homecare (Servis UK) and was approached by Alan Wallace, of Wallace’s Domestic Appliances to take a position with his reputable company.
Having worked 18 years with Wallace’s I have now branched out to set up my own company, BR Domestic Appliance Specialist, based in Midlothian – covering Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Billy very kindly arranged to see us urgently to fix our LG washing machine. Fantastic service. Took the time to assess the machine properly and ensured the machine was in full working order before leaving. Will definitely be calling on Billy again for any appliance needs. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I got in touch about a fault with my washing machine. I was told on the phone about the pricing and the work was carried out the next day.
I even called after about something I wasn't sure on and was given great advice.

Highly highly recommend William Rutherford. Excellent service and professional manner helping advise on the disconnecting and reconnecting a new washing machine for my elderly Mum. Our oven heating element packed in and Billy was recommended by an electrician. He was on our premises within 90 mins and returned with the part later in the morning. We were back up and running by lunch time. Excellent service and personable character. Highly recommended.

Have fridge freezer (eleven years old), temperatures much too low and green on light flashing, in hot weather.
Found BR's number in Edinburgh Trusted Traders and phoned.
Received very good, helpful advice which appears to have worked.

Washing machine door lock mechanism replaced.
A friend recommended Billy to me, and when I spoke to him just after lunch he said he would pop out in the afternoon to see me. He was absolutely true to his word and arrived promptly and fixed the washing machine door lock in no time. All in all, from first call to repair was just under two hours, and all for a very reasonable price.
I am very pleased and impressed with the speed and quality of the service and would definitely recommend Billy.

Billy came out to fix my dishwasher the same day as I called him. He explained costs and charges before coming out so I knew what to expect. He came at exactly the time he said he would which meant no hanging around or follow up calls.
He managed to fix the problem really quickly and explained simply what caused the problem.
I was so happy with the work I have him coming back to fix my oven.
Very polite, knowledgeable and professional.

Did a good job fixing my washing machine, it broke again after he left and he came right back at no extra cost. Again the machine seemed to be working, he said if it broke again he'd come back in a couple of days with a new part. The machine did break again but my wife decided to get a new machine. He refunded half what we'd paid as per his original quote.

I needed help with the overall working and instructions of all my new Zanussi appliances in a new kitchen . I called several businesses to no avail but William was fantastic , happy and willing to help . He came around the next day and even left his number and time if ever needed when in need . I would definitely use Billy again thanks to his professionalism and friendliness .

I have used Billy twice now after he was recommended on another site. The first time he fixed my dishwasher the day after I called him. I was really impressed so contacted him to fix a washing machine in my rental property. He visited the same day (a Friday) and as the machine was so old and too expensive to fix, he sourced and fitted new machine and took the other one away within 2 days. Excellent service and highly recommend!
