Due to a misunderstanding with my letting agent I didn't understand the access needed and left a 3 generation's old china cabinet in the hall. Mark and Robert must have emptied it, moved it, then put it all back, to get it out the way. It undoubtedly put them behind time and I am so grateful for their care. It's not worth anything, but the cabinet and it's contents have massive sentimental value to me and my family. I can't overstate how much it meant to me, and how bad I felt that I did move it in the first place! Absolutely great, great big virtual hug. Thank you so much.

My first and definitely last time using Edinburgh Trusted Trader. This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had of hiring a plumber.

They charged £90 for an initial callout during which it was established my water heater was broken. Which... I already knew for free. The engineer they sent didn't follow any of the covid safety procedures they outlined, including me having to ask him to put his mask on properly. I was left for several days with the water heater leaking slightly worse than it had been before I called them out. When I checked it in the evening, I found the multi socket plug I'd raised concerns about had been left directly below the leak, sitting in 3mm of pooled water. He also left a horrendous mess, saying he'd left his cleaning things in the van.

They mistook a clear enquiry as to whether a particular model might work as a request for it and, despite repeatedly saying I didn't think it would work, went ahead and ordered it. At least they listened when I pointed out the need for a 2kW heater, rather than the 3kW one I tried asking their opinion on. But in the end they ordered and fitted a version that simply doesn't fit the limited space available.

I'm left almost £400 out of pocket, with a water heater that more or less works, but there's no way to see what temperature it's set at in the too-small space, so it's pure guesswork trying to get the temperature right.

Bonus points for making it almost impossible to reach the stopcock now and refusing to supply any paperwork guaranteeing their work.

Having looked into what has gone on, it appears clear from how this reads that the customer has got some very valid points. Straight away, we asked Trusted Trader to open a complaint on this matter, so we could resolve the issues highlighted in the feedback. Unfortunately this wasn’t something the customer wanted do. Regardless, we take this type of feedback very seriously and have completed a full and proper investigation.

As a team, we have worked so hard to during Covid-19 to ensure our team follow some of the best laid out health and safety procedures in our industry. Some of the feedback we have received on Trusted Trader over the past 18 months or so, specifically in relation to Covid has been amazing.

Having completed our own investigation into the matters raised, we don’t agree with many aspects of the customers feedback, however we respect that is their opinion and its clearly how they see things. We are sure if the full complaints procedure through Edinburgh Trusted Trader was allowed to have been opened, all the points in the feedback would have been addressed. None the less, if the customer wishes to contact us directly to discuss this further, we would be more than happy to go over the points directly.
