I use this firm for everything in my own home and also in a rental property. I appreciate that they diarise to remind me about landlord's checks etc; that they always respond quickly and always manage to fit in my job; that they seem glad to have my custom! It all works well.

Replacement boiler, hot water tank and associated pipe work. Thermostatic valves on all radiators, remedial works to old hot water tank in the attic, removal of bathroom shower pump and shower replaced in utility room. I can highly recommend Chris and his team. Our situation was an emergency and Chris came out quickly to survey the job and gave us a quote within 24 hours. Despite being extremely busy, in view of our circumstances, he gave us the option of a slightly earlier install date if we were happy to have him and his team come and go over a period of a week. Very knowledgeable, courteous and everyone involved in the install worked cleanly and tidied up. Team turned up on time and when they said they would. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Melville Whitson Muir again.

Have used MWM for boiler service for a few years now and more recently for installing smart thermostats and emergency repairs to our boiler flue when we had storm damage to our roof. Cannot recommend them highly enough - they are absolutely reliable, turn up when they say they will, great communication, friendly and helpful. I absolutely trust them and would recommend for any gas/boiler/heating issues.

Having been without hot water for some days Chris correctly identified our timer control box as being at fault and also told me how to reset the immersion heater which was not working either. Although they did not instal the underfloor CH & DHW system in our house they continue to maintain it and identify any issues arising. In an age of internet-only recommendations, MW&M carry on traditional levels of service whilst being up to date on all facets of residential boiler systems. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Installation of a replacement gas boiler.
The work was carried out and completed on the day arranged. The work was carried out in a professional manner and the work area left clean and tidy. The engineers were pleasant and answered any questions we had.

Replacement of Megaflo cylinder that had failed under guarantee, so we only paid for the labour and incidentals (we replace the pump and the other motorised valve as well). The work was carried out efficiently and on time with minimal disruption. Very good staff and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent work done on an old underfloor heating system that no other heating contractor would touch. They sourced a part at a price that was not astronomical compared with the manufacturers original. Also Chris was more than happy to give advice and recomendations for the rest of the heating system in conversation

Melville and Whitson replaced my gas boiler. The cost of this was much better than I feared and was carried out quickly and efficiently. I now can see in another winter with no heating or hot water worries! Many thanks to Chris for arranging this and Steven for his hard work and expertise fitting the boiler.
