Newtown Renovations

We have used Newtown Renovations twice now, initially to totally replace around half of our sash windows. Following that positive experience, we asked them to replace some more windows and also carry out some decorating and joinery work. We could not be more positive about working with Newtown, comms are excellent, their employees are extremely pleasant and genuinely keen to do the best job for you. The work has been carried out to an extremely high standard, so much so that we wish we had come across Newtown before starting our renovation and had asked them to do everything. We will have another block of work to do later this year and will not be asking anybody else.

Jonathan and his team at Newtown Renovations completely refurbished two Edinburgh period properties for me. The craftsmenship is excellent, work completed on time, total professionals. Since completing the works my properties have been subject to International magazine shoots.

We had two sash case windows refurbished by Newtown Renovations. From start to finish the process was..painless. Jonathan provided clear information, upfront costings, kept in touch with status of work and completed on time. The team are absolute professionals, the quality of work is very high and they clearly take a lot of pride in their work. I would happily recommend them to anyone with old sash case windows. Our windows are like new and I suspect better than when they were first installed with the draft seals Jonathon's team have installed. I know I will be calling on them again!

I required a lot of joinery work to be done, mostly in my long hall.
Plywood sheets to be taken up from floor, existing floor boards evened out and new boards put down. Some doors had to be taken down and trimmed plus shelving put into a hall cupboard and a new front bath panel installed. They also installed a large board, to cover some glass panels.
The work was done on time and to a very high standard.
I am delighted with this difference this has made , and would happily recommend Newtown Renovations to anyone requiring joinery type of work.
Both joiners were very professional and cleaned up after they had completed the work, each day.

Newtown Renovations did an excellent job removing some internal stonework and replastering. When some structural stonework was unexpectedly uncovered they managed to get their stonemasons in the following day to deal with it without additional costs. The finish was all high quality and they even provided cleaners at the end.

Newtown Renovations successfully replaced our leaky Victorian 4-pane skylight, high above the upper landing, with one large double-glazed pane. We were able to discuss, watch and inspect every stage of the job, both with Jonathon Morrice of Newtown Renovations and the craftsmen doing the work. All elements were completed with excellent quality materials and great craftsmanship, and care for the surrounding fabric of the building – slaters checking that the scaffolding had not damaged further slates, for example. The subcontractors would now be our go-to firms for their individual fields. The expertise of Jonathon Morrice in coordinating this work, and the excellence in communication, made this a stress-free project (including observance of Covid rules) and we have great confidence in the result; definitely one of the best experiences we have had with builders.

We had our attic converted from Newtown, from initial inspection to carrying out the work the entire service was excellent. Protection was laid throughout the house and they even carried out a final clean. Workmanship was outstanding. Five out of Five for me.

Had Newtown Renovations refurbish a living room, replace a garage roof (including joists) and remove a chimney.

The living room involved removing a ceiling and fireplace before fitting a new ceiling with cornice, plastering, sockets/lights and painting.

Very happy with the quality of the work and will definitely be using again. Very easy firm to work with, good eye for detail and no shortcuts taken. You can trust them to get on with the job.

Replacement of ageing, draughty and cold sash windows with double-glazed replacements that are visually indistinguishable from the originals. We have used Newtown Renovations on two occasions and now replaced around 60% of the windows in the house. They have been very prompt and courteous and the work is to an extremely high quality. In each case they took care with with existing furnishings and left no trace they had done any work save for the excellent new windows. I could not recommend them more highly.

As a large employer and manufacturer to have a reliable tradesman on hand is an asset and Jonathon and his team have carried out all our requirement quickly and skilfully
