Newtown Renovations

Jonathon and the team at Newtown had been recommended to us by a friend at work. We had just bought a house in need of a lot of refurbishment over a long-term project, and we needed trusted advice on how to budget for and prioritise that work, taking into account our needs and the listed status of our home. Having had poor experiences with contractors on previous projects, it was very important to find someone who we knew we could trust and would give us practical advice on where to invest time and money. Jonathon has supported us more than we could have anticipated – he and his team are always on-hand, friendly and reliable. The refurbishment work done so far has been extensive and in places complex, and been completed on time, on-budget and to the highest standard. This was all achieved in spite of our changing aspects of the project as we went and also the impact of covid19. Every member of the team has been excellent and we could not recommend Jonathon and Newtown highly enough.

We elected to use Newtown renovations to replace sash windows in a conservation area.

They dealt with the whole process from liaising with an architect to file and gain the appropriate listed building consent, making and installing the new windows into the existing cases plus all the joinery, draught proofing, painting etc.

Jonathon and his team are a pleasure to deal with, great communication throughout, happy to answer any questions (in our case provided water-based VOC paint) and will certainly use again!

The scope of work involved the removal of existing window sashes and the installation of new double glazing sashes in a listed Newtown apartment building.

I've used Newtown Renovations in the past so knew the quality of their work. As soon as we moved into our A-listed Old Town flat we lined them up to renovate our windows. They are always busy and they couldn't do the work for three months, but we were happy to wait. The quote was comprehensive and there were no hidden extras. As the start date approached we added several other jobs, including laying an engineered wooden floor in our hall. As expected the work was carried out efficiently to a high standard. The tradesmen always turned up when expected and were pleasant and polite at all times. Jonathon Morrice, who runs the company, is super efficient and always makes sure things run smoothly.
