Malcolm is a very friendly, reliable man who, along with his team painted our family room and bedroom to a very high standard. The wallpaper also looks great and we are very pleased with the end result. Malcolm managed to fit us in at short notice, despite being busy at this time of year. We will be using Malcolm in the future for further redecoration work.

I found Malcolm via Trusted Trader and would like to say that his team did a fantastic job on my new home. As my wife is expecting soon, Malcolm did his utmost to get a detailed competitive quote to us asap and then start the job quickly. The guys were first class throughout what was a 3 week job and were always easy to communicate on any unforeseen work that came up (such as additional tiling and plastering required) and the progress of the job. The final finish on my walls was excellent and has completely transformed what was a pretty well worn home. I will recommend Malcolm to friends and family and certainly use his service again in the future.

Malcolm Bell has just finished our hall and we are delighted with the work. It's tough times at the moment for trades with COVID absence and supplier issues however Malcolm kept us well informed at all times with any changes to the plan. The quality of the workmanship and also the materials used are all excellent. The decorator team were all incredibly polite and accommodating to working around us in the flat at all times (working from home currently).

An excellent job by Malcolm's team - the preparatory work was so thorough, and the painting and wallpapering was equally good. The room now looks better than new! Highly recommended.

I have no hesitation in absolutely recommending Malcolm and the team. They have just completed the exterior painting of our block of flats and just prior to Christmas, they put up insulating wall paper and decorated the interior of our flat. Absolutely fantastic service from quote right through to the completion of the job. We are an independent gift shop called Bonkers, located on Hanover Street. The job required all the interior of the shop to be repainted. We were thrilled that all the paints used were eco friendly in keeping with our business ethos and also had the additional benefits of being hard wearing,able to be washed and left no smell which for a gift shop was very important. Malcolm sourced these products for us and his knowledge and experience is exceptional. Malcolm is the consummate professional keeping me completely informed of how the job was progressing on a daily basis which was very useful as I am based in St Andrews not Edinburgh. The attention to detail was meticulous and the finish is of a very high standard. Malcolm worked round our opening hours so we did not have to close - even for an hour- coming in when we were closed for the day. I can recommend Malcolm 100% and will definitely will have him back for any decorating jobs in the future.

Malcolm's very professional and tidy team of decorators repapered our large hall ceiling as well as renewing eggshell on hall woodwork. The team were prompt and hard working and the work was carried out to an excellent quality. Malcolm kept a peronal overview of the work's progress which was much appreciated. We called Malcolm based on very good trusted trader reviews and he lived up to these on our job in April. We wanted our 20ft sitting/dining room stripped and decorated, but also needed some carpentry and plumbing. Malcolm provided recommendations for the other trades and coordinated their input which made things much easier for us. Gary (carpenter) and Graeme (plumbing) were very friendly and their work was excellent quality. We will certainly call on all of them for future jobs. Malcolm was extremely helpful making recommendations about how best to tackle bits of the job and the joins in his lining paper are invisible! Brendan and he were friendly, efficient and tidied up each night to limit any inconvenience. We were entirely comfortable with them in the house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Malcolm and his contacts to friends and family.

Kitchen. Wallpaper stripped, replastered, linning paper and painted. Friendly, professional, good customer service. Nothing was too much bother . Definitely would recommend.

Malcolm sprayed our cornicing recently and we are absolutely delighted with the result. It has transformed the room! Malcolm was very friendly and easy to get hold of and got the job done very quickly and left the place cleaner than it was when he started! Good value for money too. Ground floor Victorian house, front exterior paintwork: 3 window frames (large bay sash windows), double storm doors and surround, canopy over front door. Existing paint was stripped, primed and painted (2 coats). Front entrance steps (stone): power washed to remove loose, flaking paint then epoxy sprinkled with aggregate (non slip) applied and finished with 2nd coat epoxy sealer.
Quote supplied within 48hrs of initial request, work started promptly within the week and was completed on schedule. Excellent communication direct from Malcolm Bell throughout; always informed in advance of planned stages of work and of tradesmen's arrival dates. Painters always arrived on time and were efficient, professional, tidy, helpful and polite. All preparation, painting and work on steps was carried out to a high standard, using good quality and appropriate paint and materials. The original paintwork was in poor condition (old, flaking layers of gloss) and the thorough preparation carried out enabled the excellent finish achieved – crisp, smart and professional. Would use again for future work; happy to recommend.

Have never used this painter before.
Responded promptly when contacted and visited quickly to provide estimate for decoration required to market a property for sale. Gave good advice on what was required and didnt push to do unecessary work.
Was able to undertake the work quickly, the quality of which was very good.

Malcolm and his team wallpapered one of my walls for me - I'd bought wallpaper which was a map and I was too nervous to put it up myself.

They did a great job of preparing the newly plastered wall to ensure it was totally smooth, then putting up the wallpaper the following day.

They were friendly, efficient and very tidy and did a great job of putting up the paper. I absolutely love it.
