Business Information
At J & E MacGregor Ltd., we aim to provide a reliable, friendly and quality service for all types of plumbing, heating and gas, throughout the Edinburgh area.
From minor maintenance and repair through to complete kitchen, bath & shower room refurbishments. We can also supply and install a wide range of gas fires, along with aftercare maintenance and servicing.
We also carry out boiler servicing, through to full boiler and heating system replacements, and can provide free estimates for these projects. We can also carry out Landlord Certification, if required.
We use only fully trained and qualified engineers to provide our service and are established members of SNIPEF, the Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering, SEPA, Safe Contractor and The Gas Safe Register.

Gas Fire failed on Christmas Day. Contacted J& E MacGregor just after new Year and they came at earliest opportunity. Very helpful engineer fixed the problem and explained other options. Very reasonable cost.

We have used this firm for years and always found them reliable and honest about what can or cannot be done.
Last week I found a puddle of water on the floor with a steady drip coming from the bottom of an adjacent radiator. I phoned the firm at about 9am and spoke to Ewan MacGregor - by 4pm on the same day, the radiator had been replaced. The following morning, I had a call from Ewan to make sure that no further problems had occurred (the system had needed to be drained and refilled and the boiler repressurised).
I thought all this was exemplary service, esecially considering their backlog of work post Covid lockdown.

Cured a small leak under kitchen sink and serviced gas fire in lounge.
No doubt these were small jobs for them but it was important to us to have the work done. Arranging a time to have the work done was easy and they came when they said they would come. We would use this firm again without hesitation.

My boiler broke before Christmas and couldn’t get anyone out despite having no heating and hot water. Following the festive break I contacted the company and within a day they were out to quote for the work. After being appointed Euan was brilliant getting things arranged, and within a week of having contacted them I have a brand new working boiler. The team have been great throughout the whole process and would definitely use them again.
