After 2 weeks of overflowing gutters causing ingress of water into my property and two other tradesmen looking at it and giving me hefty quotes L and E Roofing came out within a couple of hours and upon thorough inspection discovered my problem was due to a blocked downspout and proceeded to unblock it for me, free of charge!! They gave me good advice about maintenance, may have saved me a lot of money and were absolute gentleman. I can't thank them enough

Having previously used L&E Roofing for our old house, when we discovered roofing issues with our new one we knew that Colin and his team would help us quickly and professionally. We needed a whole new roof, repairs to wood, all new slates, chimneys to be fixed - the works. Colin inspected our roof very quickly and gave us a comprehensive account of what needed done with a quote sent across to us that evening. Since we live in a conservation area, we needed planning permission for the slate change; Colin was very knowledgeable about which slates would be appropriate and in keeping with the house and area. After receiving planning permission, Colin was able to start quickly and his team were on site as expected and immediately got on with the job. Despite the bad weather (snow, wind and hail), Colin and his team worked hard and got our roof done to a high standard. Colin also recommended approved traders such as a joiner and painter which we used for associated works. Happy with all of his work and his recommendations. Colin is a professional and we trust his work and his word. Will use for all our roofing needs.

I have just had my whole roof stripped and re slated. The work has been carried out in a very professional manner by all the people involved. I am extremely pleased with the work and will certainly use this company again.

Repairs to roof valley. Excellent experience from start to finish. Very helpful from Mary when I made the first contact. Appointment made and Colin came the next day to see the problem and give me a quote. Very efficiently sent by e-mail which I accepted. They arrived within four to five days. Did and excellent job and cleaned up all the mess and took it away.
They are very polite and easy to deal with.

L&E have checked maintained the roof on a 200yr old property in Edinburgh twice annually for many years and have been utterly reliable. In particular Colin has only rarely ever suggested that additional work involving payment was needed - meaning that the check up, whilst not cheap, is good value for money.
When additional work was eventually needed (replacement of lead concealed guttering) this was performed to a high standard.
Colin and team recently reroofed part of an old cottage in Perthshire. In contrast to other companies, he was happy to source matching recycled slates for the job which was carried out to a very high standard, maintaining the original appearance of the building at a significantly lower cost than local firms.

Very happy with the work! Fixed a broken roof tile & removed weeds from the guttering, worked efficiently and quickly. I would definitely recommend.

Building of six flats (including a council owned flat), needing work done to roof/guttering/downpipes in response to an ESRS survey.

Colin came to give us an initial quote and visited later again in person after questions from owners in the building to give a follow-up quote for extra pieces; he wanted to see for himself rather than relying on photos I had sent, which I appreciated.

He was very flexible when it came to working with us as a group of owners and had the patience to work alongside us with the council side of things.

Once we had a scheme decision from all owners and a confirmation letter from the council, he booked us in within a week or so.
The scaffolding went up and they went to work, fixing various aspects of our roof slating, the harling in many places we'd identified, replacing the metal guttering entirely and renovating/painting the downpipes and replacing sections. During the work he sent photos of what had been done, which the council also appreciated seeing as work progressed.

Part way through the work, a comment was made that the valleys could do with treating to preserve the metal. The communication around it was a bit rushed but a small quote was given for it, we got all the owners' agreements and the work was added to the final bill and the council's application with no issues.

Through the work, his team was polite and efficient, completing a lot of work across the 3-4 weeks they were here.

The garage roof was leaking into the porch and Colin noticed that the last roofer had not addressed the fact that the angle of runaway was incorrect causing a build up of rain water causing the leak over a long period of time. A quote was given for a new rubber roof to replace the old roofing felt. This felt was removed and taken away all tidied up and new roof efficiently laid in one day as promised.

Bathroom refurbishment - new velux window, new ceiling, new lights, new extractor fan. Resized basement hatch and relocation of extractor vents. The team were efficient and courteous throughout. Delighted with the work, thank you so much.

I know how difficult it can be to find quality roofers around Edinburgh especially this time of year as the demand is outstripping supply.
Their quote was reasonable, and once agreed Colin was able to book me in within a good time-frame given their backlog - so very happy about that.
The work was carried out on time and exactly as agreed, everything went smoothly without any fuss or drama. Standard of work was excellent, also the workmen were friendly and helpful, took time to answer my questions and show me what needed to be done.
Must say excellent comms throughout, kept me updated on progress with photos of the works.

L & E roofing have been maintaining our roof for over 3 years. They have recently completed a bigger job, felting the front section of our high, old roof and bay window, replacing slates and zinc ridges etc. I have found them to be extremely trustworthy, reliable and good at communicating and have no hesitation in recommending their services.
