My elderly mother returned home to a leak in her roof after Christmas. I contacted Colin at L & E Roofing. He was quick to respond, came and had a look, showed me photos of what the problem was, and gave me a quote, which I accepted. The work was carried out timeously and professionally. Colin kept me updated at all stages of the work. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend L & E Roofing and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We’ve used Colin and his team a couple of times. Colin has given us great advice which we were so appreciative of. The guys worked to a high standard in painting and repairing soffits and removing and cleaning gutters. They were friendly and professional and so wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Rainwater pipes and guttering

We had a blocked down pipe in the back garden and Colin from L & E Roofing came to quote for the work.
The quote listed out the works - clear blockage, clean guttering and re run the rain water piping. A fair and reasonable price was given. Would recommend L & E Roofing and will certainly have them back next year to service the rain water pipes, guttering and roofing.

Had roughcasting replaced in a particularly awkward place. Colin came and gave a very reasonable quote. His workers came when he said they would. Due to location of damaged rendering they had to work off neighbour's roof. They treated the job with respect and took videos for me to show neighbours the work done and the fact their roof was intact after works to their satisfaction. They actually found issues with the flashing on neighbours roof which they repaired. After works they tidied up as completely as they could. During works Colin's workers were courteous and answered any queries.
Neighbours have commented on the job, both the works done and the matching of the rendering. One neighbour in particular asked about the East Lothian Trust a Trader sticker on Colin's works vans.
Happy with works done and would use L & E Roofing Contractors again and would recommend them to friends.

I have used L&E Roofing for many years, for routine roof maintenance and occasional call-outs for storm damage or leaks. They have always attended promptly, diagnosed problems accurately and dealt with them successfully.
Recently they have installed ridge tiles on our bungalow, to replace some ugly roofing tape which had been left by previous owners. The job was efficiently done over three days and we were delighted with the result which is a great improvement in the visual appearance of the house. Attention was paid to make the best match of new and existing ridges. At their suggestion, and at no extra charge, they also did some cleaning and painting work, mainly of a chimney stack which was long-overdue and has also greatly improved appearance.
Colin and his colleagues are always very pleasant to deal with, and happy to give advice on anything needing done.

Colin’s team completed gutter clearance for us and fixed some leaking joints on the guttering. Work completed promptly following quote. We will definitely use L&E again for future roof repairs.

Colin recommended changing our guttering for a larger profile which would help the water flow. I decided not to do this in the first instance, then Colin offered to clean out the gutters free of charge. This was duly done.

Colin arrived when he said he would and did a first class job. Hard to tell they had been as all work areas left clean and tidy - and old material removed. Would have no hesitation in recommending Colin and his team and will definitely use again for any further work.

Some of my roof tiles needed replaced or secured. Response to my request for a quote was dealt with with minimal delay and when a date was set for the work to be done, the roofers carried out the work exactly as I had expected. The men were polite, friendly and very efficient. They did excellent work and I would have no hesitation in recommending L & E roofing contractors to anyone and I would certainly use them again if and when necessary. Colin was recommended to us by a close friend, and when he came to quote we realised that he'd been here 15 years before for work on the rhones. Good to get a company with a long established reputation.
We needed some repairs to valleys and chimney stack, and had some slipped slates. We also wanted our flat roof renewed before it started to cause problems, and to have some insulation panels added to try to cut our heating bills. He came back to us very quickly with a good price and was able to start work within a few weeks. The roofers were reliable and friendly, and we got daily photos from Colin of the work as it progressed (very helpful, as we can't get up there to see it for ourselves). The work was done on time and on budget - he even got the guys to fix a leaking gutter I just spotted during the works.
Only issue is the delay in getting the scaffolding down - but that's contracted to another company and they have been affected by Covid so I'm not upset about it.
We have recommended Colin to neighbours and family for other works.

Colin and the team did a roof repair to our block of flats, replacing all broken tiles, ridges, guttering, flashing etc. They also painted all new cast iron guttering and downpipes. They discovered cracked rendering on one of the chimneys which they promptly repaired. This fixed a leak which other roofers had been unable to resolve. Colin's communication and professionalism was second to none. He sent us daily updates and photos tracking the progress of the work. I am very happy with the work done by L & E Roofing and would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs roofing work done. We have finally found a reliable, trustworthy roofer!

Small repair to leaking guttering at the front of the house required. Colin responded to our initial enquiry straight away and arrived when he said he would. Friendly and helpful and completed the job in no time - without charging for the work! Would definitely use this firm again for any future work and highly recommend.

Had a leaking roof and contacted colin who was kind enough to visit the next again morning. He examined the felting and tests the drainage identifying that it was in fact a plumbing issue. Despite his time he wouldnt accept any payment instead suggesting a just leave a review.

He was very polite and respectful of the situation, gave great advice, provided a very competitive quote, delivered the job ahead of schedule and to a level of quality well beyond what we hoped for. He even carried out some additional works without charge.

After dealing with 3 companies who did not repair the roof leak, my fault for not checking out Trusted Trader, I contacted L&E Roofing who replied quickly, came out to look at the job next day and while he was here I asked about painting the gutters and downpipes. He emailed a very reasonable quote within a few hours and fitted me into his schedule a couple of weeks later. Colin and his team are highly professional, reliable and trustworthy. A first class job and would highly recommend.

Colin and his team removed old cladding from the exterior of the house and replaced it with new. They also resolved a long standing window issue with a great fix. The work was organised and efficient and left in a tidy state. Great job and would recommend highly to anyone needing similar work.
