Following the January storms part of our church hall roof was blown away. The sheeting contained low level asbestos which frightened other roofers off.
J& D provided a competitive estimate and dealt with the asbestos issue in a fully professional way. While it took a couple of weeks for them to get the materials to fix the roof the work was done almost immediately.

A genuinely fantastic local company to deal with - John and his team are highly professional, reliable and trustworthy. Absolutely first class job on our roof and would highly recommend.

My roof and ridge tiles were blown off and broken by the recent storm.
John arrived on the day and time arranged to do the work, which was completed quickly with no disturbance to my need to come and go. All debris was swept up and removed, leaving the area clean and tidy. I’m very happy with both the work done and respectful care taken to leave my area neat and tidy .
I will definitely use J&D roofers again should the need arise.

Had to have the ridge tiles replaced after the Storm. The work was discussed before hand and I was made aware what the work would entail. The lads came out a couple of days later, and worked very hard , never stopped for a break. The work was carried out well and both men were polite , friendly and efficient. Also happy to answer any questions I had. First class job done, and I'm delighted with the professional way in which everything was carried out. Cleaned everything up and left the place clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this company for any roofing repairs needing done.

Quote requested and responded too very quickly. Good communication, and quick attendance. Actually went up on to the roof to inspect it fully (some didn't). Full quote with break down of work to be done sent within a few days.
Agreed to work being completed and 3 vans turned up within 24 hours. Took 2.5 days to complete the work, the team were very respectful and courteous. The two young lads who were left to finish the job were very professional, cleaned up the site and showed video of the work carried out. All in all a very pleasant experience with no hassle. Our roof was damaged during the ‘red warning’ storm on Friday 24th January. We were unable to view the damage until the following day and it was apparent that the central ridge and other areas of the roof had suffered damage and required repair work.
I had noted the company vehicle in the Longniddry area over several months and quickly looked at reviews before calling John first thing on Saturday 25th Jan.
He stated that he would attend later that day and he did just that, spending considerable time on the roof and reporting back the damage to me. He tidied up the loose tiles as best he could and submitted an estimate within a couple of days which I accepted on 28th, John informing me that work would commence the following morning (29th) at 8am.
True to his word, Gordon and Archie arrived and commenced work immediately, working non stop throughout the day and were a pleasure to meet. They completed the repairs that day and gave me details of what had been done and an indication of what I should consider having done at a later date as John had previously done. All of their suggestions were appropriate to the age of the property and were defects we knew would need attention at some point. I will have no hesitation in contacting them again as we approach better weather.
I highly recommend J and D Roofing. The initial contact with John was positive and his fast response gave us confidence in his company. He was prompt with responses, always answering calls and supplying us with an estimate which I required for my insurance company.
Gordon and Archie were great workmen and great guys and I will politely ask for them back when we have the additional work done later this year.
They both worked hard throughout the day and were a pleasure to chat to at the beginning and the end of the day. They were rarely at ‘ground level’ and I had no doubt that their priority was to complete the job to the highest level.

Storm Éowyn 100 mph gusts caused significant damage to our dry stone wall and blew the pantiles off the corner of our roof. J&D Roofing to the rescue! Our go-to roofer here in East Lothian promptly assessed the damage and dispatched a crew in short order. Quality of the work? Bang on! I did not hesitate to share their details with another neighbour who suffered slate roof damage.

J&D replaced a flat roof area on our house, during the work I realised the gutters on our home also needed replacing. The work was carried out to the highest standards, I was updated daily on progress and though out the week-long process the J&D team were friendly, courteous and they kept the site complete free of debris. We have no hesitation in scoring top marks for J&D and I would be very happy to recommend them to anyone in need of roof repairs.

While working on a job we accidentally broke one of the clients cast iron soil pipe, after a call to John from J&D they were very quick to come out and fix this for us. Would highly recommend.

John's team replaced an out of date and poorly repaired flat roof and added insulation.

After moving into to our home, we discovered an historic leak where the flat roof extension met the main slated roof. I contacted John initially to take a look at repairing this leak. On inspection, John recommended that due to the age, condition, and nature of a historic repair, that it was better to replace the entire roof. This was in line with advice received from other roofers. John's thoroughness in explaining options and how the team would approach the work, along with the time he took to inspect the roof in detail, reflected the high quality work delivered by his team.

John's team were all very polite, friendly and professional, and worked solidly for a day and a half to replace the roof, and cleaned up throughly after themselves.

I would not hesitate to recommend John and team, and we will use them again.
