John has done a range of work in my own house - solar panel install, advice on battery storage; rental flats - lighting, switches, re-wires, investigations; and my parent's house - switch panels, electric boiler support. He is incredibly knowledgeable, trustworthy, reliable and efficient. He explains the work (if you need/want that) and does what he says he will at a very competitive and reasonable price. I'd always call him first - and I'd wait if he's busy because his service is worth it. And I'd highly recommend him (although I hesitate to say that, because I want him to be available for me!).

I asked for a changeover switch to be installed so I can run my house off a generator. John managed to get someone out before SSE left me with no power again. I am so grateful as is it's often extremely difficult to get people to to come and do work where I live as it's so rural. John arrived on time to complete a quick survey for the quote and Darren arrived when scheduled to do the installation and nothing was too much bother. Very happy to do what was needed. Honestly can't recommend these guys enough.

I had new electric heaters replacing a storage system in a small flat and some outside lights fitted by my front door as well as some finishing jobs replacing sockets removing wires. I cannot recommend the company highly enough. They had a key and came when I wasn’t in chose the heaters and the lights and fitted them in my very old house through thick walls with the absolute minimum of disturbance. Delighted wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you

I recently decided to up my Battery storage capacity at the house by adding two additional slave batteries to the solar array I had installed in August 2023. Based upon the excellent work I’d had from them before, I knew who I wanted to do this additional job. I contacted John McIntosh Electrical and John outlined all my options and the associated costs which were very competitive. I placed the order and only a week later I was contacted to arrange installation. Just as before, John was at my door, bang on time in the day, and completed the work quickly and without fuss. Second time I’ve used them, and both times I’ve been really impressed. I’ve recommended them to several friends as a result, and I know they’ve been delighted with the work too.

John went out of his way to help us out and did a fantastic job- efficiently and very cheaply. I thought the price for what he did should have been much more. Will continue to use this very reliable company!!

John and his team have carried out a variety of electrical works for me over the last seven years, from replacing a consumer unit to annual PAT testing.
