We required a fast turnaround for installation of an EV charger in a remote and rural steading in the glens. The survey was almost next day and the tight installation window of within two weeks was readily met within one and to a high standard.

Having had work done by John before I phoned him for advice recently about a cooker hob which had "lost" two of its rings, He said he would come out the following day on his way home and see what the best way of dealing with it was. We had 12 solar panels and all the associated bits required fitted to our house today, the fitters arrived on time, worked hard and completed the job in what I would term a really quick time. The work was tidy and very neat despite some of it being in not the easiest place for access being located inside a kitchen unit lower cupboard.

I had an AC coupled inverter and 9.5kwH GivEnergy battery installed. Excellent service and advice throughout. Attention to written records of discussions could be improved; the contractors recollection of their site inspection, six months after it occurred, differed from my written minutes taken and distributed immediately after the inspection. Thankfully their lack of attention did not give rise to any significant issues on site. Quality of workmanship was up to expectations.

John and his team installed 3.1Kw solar pv and 5kw battery storage.
The installation was completed in a single day and no damage or unsightly trunking left on the walls. The whole install is very tidy and John and his team tidied up everything before leaving the property. He also monitored the system to ensure it was performing as it should, there was a small issue with the invertor but this was quickly identified and remedied by altering settings on the invertor.
All paperwork and certification was carried out and supplied promptly.

I would not hesitate to recommend John to anyone requiring electrical work carried out and he will be my first contact for any future electrical works I need doing in the future.

Superb work by John and his team. You won't find a better contractor within 30 miles of Arbroath. I searched for 2 months, got many offers from companies. Price to service ratio - very good, advice - as I like it: "short and to the point". He is a contractor, not a broker! He is busy but answers phone calls and emails.

It has been a pleasure working with John and his team. While they are clearly very busy as a business, John always took the time to discuss the details of my installation and help guide me towards our final solution during the design and quotation phase. He showed very good technical knowledge and helped me evaluate the pros and cons of the possible alternate options.
His team who performed the work were professional, quick, good chat, and performed the work to a high quality standard. They took the time to consider the onsite installation specifics, making some small adjustments along the way to ensure the most secure and neatest installation possible.

Instillation of solar panels and battery storage. John discussed options and what was suitable for home and budget. He took time to discuss all the pros and cons of the different panels, configurations and battery storage. Price was comparative to other quotes we had. There was no hard sell and was customer need focused to allow us to make an informed decsion.
Instillation work was split with roofers attending then the actual panels and battery instal a couple weeks later. Tradesmen were prompt and worked hard doing full instal in a day. They were very efficient and left no mess whatsoever on completion work.
Too early to tell interms of full value for money but have already seen a reduction in electricty useage from grid so hopeful going forward this has been a wise investment.

John’s & his team are amazing & professional at installing solar panels and battery system. I have a Givenergy 15 panel 5KW system with a 9.5kwh battery. Whole system is working well and producing more than originally expected. John’s team installed in one full day.

The team were tidy and organised in terms of installation. However, because of the high demand, John is very busy so communication can be a bit slower at times but he always does reply.

Will be doing more work with John in the near future including solar water diverter and possibly EV solar diverter once we change cars.

A year ago John installed ceiling lights and a solar panel/battery set up at my home. The installation of the battery and panels was completed quickly and competently in one day. Since then a few minor problems with communication with the monitoring app for the battery which were quicky resolved. Very pleased with the purchase.

I ordered 14 solar panels, an inverter and a 5 Kw battery from John and we agreed on an installation date of the end of January 2023. The equipment arrived on Friday and the system was installed the following Monday. The electrical technicians arrived early, worked continuously for about 9 hours and did an excellent job; they were polite, courteous and always willing to answer my questions. Overall, an excellent job.

John McIntosh Electrical was one of four providers I considered. On selecting a provider I was interested in a balance of quality, cost and reassurance that I was dealing with a reputable company that would provide the level of service I required both during and after installation; John’s company provided exactly what I was after.

My system has now been installed for three weeks, my electrical imports from the grid have more than halved and most days I am exporting an equal amount, if not more, back to the grid. Considering this is February, one of the four months when solar generation is at its least effective due to the amount of sunlight, I am thoroughly impressed with the results thus far.

The work involved installation of a Zappi electric car charger in an old outbuilding used as a garage. John made me aware at an initial visit that this wasn't a straightforward installation due to the existing wiring from the house to the garage but this was overcome and a neat and efficient installation was the result - carried out on time and to his quote. Installation of Zappi car charger and smart hub. Quite a long awkward cable run but John's engineer, Darren, did a great job. Turned up when planned and explained exactly what he was doing and went through the operation of the unit and it's documentation in a very through and detailed manner. Also, very enthusiastic and a real pleasure to deal with despite him having to work in a boiling hot attic for a few hours. The administration all the way through from the initial quote, through grant application annd final invoice was perfect, as usual.
