We had a couple of small jobs needing to be done - replacing an extractor fan and fixing a light fitting - and had waited in vain for a response from a previous electrician we had used. We contacted Lumen Electrical Services by email and had a very prompt response, followed by a quote for the work from Andrew. A date was arranged and the electrician - Jordan - turned up promptly and did both jobs quickly and efficiently. A courtesy call from Andrew followed later that day. We were very impressed with the customer service from Lumens and would certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

Andrew has been out a couple of times - initially to assess light fixtures when we bought a property and then to install and repair various issues with lighting, inside and outside. He's polite, punctual and we are very happy with all the work he has done for us.

We have used Lumen twice over the past year and received excellent service on both occasions. Andrew was professional, helpful, on time and great value, and his communication was swift and helpful. We felt full confidence in his work, especially after a less-than-good experience with a different electrician. He listened to what we wanted, gave helpful advice and did the job well.

We first used Andrew to do some general small jobs in our flat (fit a light, cap off an old plug and repair our communal landing light) and then again when our communal tenement stair lights completely failed. Andrew had advised on his first visit while repairing our landing light that the stair lighting system was extremely old and would likely fail at some point. He was proved right just a few months later and I had no hesitation in recommending him to the rest of the tenement tenants to do the work of a full rewire, replacement lights and timing system. The quote was reasonable and the work was completed on time without mess or fuss. The lights now work better than before, with the added advantage of having guaranteed emergency lighting in the event of a power cut, which we did not have before. Andrew recommended these type of lights and it provides peace of mind for the future. I will certainly use Andrew's services again and recommend him without hesitation.

I was happy that they confirmed they would take the job on in leith area and they followed up with reminders and called before the appointment. Quote and length of the job was delivered as promised. Super professional and friendly. Really pleased that they were reliable, would use again and recommend.

We contracted Lumen electrical to change three lights in our flat. We supplied pictures and details of the jobs that needed carried and we agreed to an hourly rate. The electrician arrived on time, was polite and clearly willing to help. However, out of the three jobs he was only able to do one - a simple change of a ceiling light and two similar jobs could not be completed as the right equipment was not available at the time (a stairs ladder was needed for one of the lights and the other light was completely broken so needed to be ordered). Once the first light was changed in literally 10 minutes the rest of the time was spent troubleshooting, talking to the manager over the phone and then we were informed right equipment is not available and would need to come another time to complete the two additional jobs.We were quoted a price that covered 1.5 hours and indeed the electrician stayed 1.5 h in the flat. We have querried the invoice with the company and we were politely told that since the electrician spent 1.5 h hours in the flat we should pay for the whole time. They agreed to give a discount only if we were going ahead with carrying further work and replacing some things that are not broken, the additional quote being 8 times higher than the first one. My question is: if you go to the mechanic to have the car fixed, explain what needs replacing, leave it there for 1.5 hours and then take it back still broken will you be happy to pay the full price you were initially quoted for?

Craig was on time, professional, knowledgable and genuine at the same time. He had to spend a lot of time figuring out the fuse box - it was a bit of an antique - and some other complications. He answered all my questions and explained how things worked to the level that I could understand.
Andrew was basically always very fast at responding. Initially a bit curt (I assume they get a lot of requests for a quote without follow up), once we looked at what needed to be done etc, he was very helpful.
The only hick-up, and I’m not sure who’s fault it was, was that somehow I had not given and they had not asked for my exact address. So had I not checked my email just before he was meant to come, I would have wasted their and my time waiting.
I had to give a rating for value of money but honestly, I have no idea.

This is by far the best electrical company we have used in our 22 years of trading. Their work is excellent and tidy and we were kept in the loop 100%. The electrician turned up on time and was very professional. We will only ever use this company in future, they have the eye for detail in customer service where so many other companies are a mile off the mark. Their 5-star rating clearly points out that they are doing everything right. Well done guys, keep it up! :-)

Fuse box changed and 2 new ceiling light fittings put up.
Lumen were fantastic from start to finish - from quick reply to initial query, questions answered & quote given (good value), timeframe of when they could do the work and the electrician who came out to do the work was wonderful. Really really happy with it all. Highly, genuinely, recommend.

Extractor fitted in bathroom and installation of security light outside door. Andrew was very patient with my many emails regarding work to be carried out. Organised roofer and electrician to coincide with work being carried out. Rab the roofer arrived when he said, very polite and helpful, also very tidy. Connor and Jack, electrician were also very polite, tidied up as they went along, took away all the packaging, left the house spotless once finished. Very happy with work carried out cannot fault any of the guys, would highly recommend them for electrical jobs. Well done guys.

Used Lumen Electrical recently to upgrade my fuse box and replace storage heaters with electric radiators. Work was carried out to a high quality and in timely fashion, quick and helpful communication, and Andrew and Conor were both friendly and professional. I will be using them again if I need more electrical work done.

Communication with Andrew was very professional from start to finish, he responded very promptly to original enquiry and sent clearly laid out breakdown of work involved and costs. Craig carried out the work very efficiently (installation of new fuse box and switches) and gave us helpful advice on our lighting. I would definitely use Lumen Electrical Services in the future.

Lumen did a great job! They installed new mains powered smoke alarms, replaced the fuse box with a new one including surge protection, installed a new socket in the bedroom and new timers for my heating, and repaired several damaged fittings. They were very responsive by email when I was figuring out what work was needed. They turned up when they said they would, cleared up after themselves, and had no problem with observing social distancing and wearing masks while in my property. I highly recommend them.

Lumen electrical ltd was recommended to us. I have used them for various jobs over a year, and feel now is the time to let others know about my experience with them. They have not returned to any work that been carried out by them, and all been to a good and satisfactory standard. Communications been excellent, and we were even notified if there is a slight delay, due to traffic. Andrew attended to our recent jobs himself and i found him very knowledgable, professional, polite, and did that extra bit, to make sure the job is done correctly and to a high standard.
