Ian is a meticulous worker and takes a real pride in his work, therefore the quality of his work is amazing.

Brian and Ian worked on our period property over a number of months and painted most rooms and the hallway. They ended up stripping back wallpaper in the hallway that we suspect had been there since the 1890s. No small task! They were careful with the period features, making the most of them and recapturing features which had been lost by previous work.

I would have no hesitation in recommending IE Decor to anyone else and no hesitation in using them again.

We had Brian and Iain in to strip wallpaper, plaster and paint our dining room. We also had them wallpaper a cupboard which we hadn’t asked for before the job started but they were happy to squeeze it in.

The walls, skirting and cornices were in poor condition. We also have an alcove in the room which is a really awkward space to get into. Brian done an excellent job of all aspects of the work and the attention to detail was exceptional.

Brian and Iain worked quietly and efficiently, keeping our home as clean as possible at all times.

Both of them were a pleasure to have around and we’ll definitely be returning to them for any future painting/decorating jobs we need done going forward.

We had a new kitchen fitted and old tiles removed etc and Brian did a superb job of repainting all the walls and skirtings and ceiling including a feature wall. I have no hesitation recommending Iain and Brian and they did a superb and professional job including getting the paint supplier to rectify an error in the paint colour for the feature wall having already applied the first coat - this was done at no extra cost to ourselves.

We had attempted to tackle removing layers of wallpaper from our hallway. After getting down to the varnished paper layer it was time to call in help!
Brian worked swiftly to prep and line the hallway, which is now ready for us to paint at our own leisure. I'm really pleased with the finishes, particularly around the doorways and woodwork. This was my first experience of having any work done in Edinburgh and I have been very pleased with the quality and attention to detail.
Brian was friendly and chatty but kept to work with minimal disruption (which was very welcomed with both myself and partner working from home) and cleared up after each day. Iain decorated the living room, bedroom, kitchen, hall and two bathrooms in my early Victorian flat. There were multiple, very visible cracks in the walls and ceiling, particularly in the living room. Iain skim coated the ceiling and fixed all the cracks as well as relining the living room walls. He put a lot of time and effort into meticulous preparation so that he could achieve a perfect finish. I felt he was taking as much care as he would of his own property. I am very happy with the work and would definitely recommend him.

IE Decor helped me completely remodel a tired, outdated 80s apartment into something worth shouting about. They installed new wooden flooring, doors, coving, wood panels, painted the walls & plastered the ceilings in five rooms.

Iain and his team did a great job redecorating our dining area, kitchen and spare room. It's not a big house and we were working from home but the guys were very flexible and worked around us when needed.
Walls and ceilings were stripped, repaired, lined and painted. Skirting boards were fixed and doors were repainted and given a fresh look. The preparation and work was done to a high standard with good attention to detail. They are busy guys but didn't rush the quality of the finish.
We were kept up to date on the progress on a daily basis which was really professional and allowed us to make a couple of changes at the last minute. They always left the house tidy at the end of each day. We also enjoyed having Iain's dog around on a couple of occasions! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend IE Decor and will definitely use them again in the future.

We asked IE Decor to paint the exterior of our house, and to follow our detailed specification.
We are pleased to report that Iain and his team completed all the work to our complete satisfaction for a competitive price.

Due to some health conditions and the fact that we are a family with small children we needed a ecological and zero-VOC renovation with some tricky to use primers and paints. Iain agreed to use our paints and he with his team have completely redecorated our very old flat with eco-friendly and breathable products. The difference between now and then is unbelievable. Iain worked to an absolute perfection no matter the amount of effort this required. He is extremely pleasant and demanding to the finish of his work. We have renovated our flat and used a lot of tradespeople. But Iain was by far the best, mostly because he cares about the overall result of the full renovation and not just his own work. He helped us find some good and reliable workmen for renovation of our windows, joinery and electrics. The standard of his work is really high, and our neighbors praised him no end when they saw the end result. For example, most of our walls needed lining with paper (fourth floor flat in tenement house) but I don't know which of them are lined because there's no way to tell.
Anyway, I feel that there are not many tradespeople that can be trusted, most of them do work to have it done with and don't care about the future of the house or even the quality of their own work, but Iain is very different, because he loves what he does, and therefore, is capable of transforming places beautifully. That's why I recommend him.

Iain and his two apprentices worked on re-plastering and decorating my kitchen walls and ceilings for a one-week period. The walls were in a terrible state and needed a lot of work to prepare the surfaces before papering and painting. The three of them worked quickly and professionally and I was really impressed with the quality of craftsmanship.

I felt that I got excellent value for money, and I've already recommended Iain to my father who needed some decorating done. I will definitely be calling on Iain the next time I need some decorating done in my house.

Really happy with the service offered by IE Decor. Work was completed to a very high standard and the attention to detail was particularly impressive. The job took a little longer than initially suggested, however this was due to Ian and Brian insisting on doing a thorough job with some areas requiring more preparation than initially appeared before painting.
