Very friendly service - Richard called me back on the same day I emailed, told me what the basic charge would be and made sure I was OK with that prior to the visit. He gave me a rough idea of when he'd visit, and on the arranged day he phoned to let me know he was on his way.

The job was done quickly, and now I have a UPVC door which finally closes & locks/unlocks easily after 21 years of putting up with using 'the knack' to do it. I'm delighted - as is my daughter who could never master it!

I highly recommend Richard and I'll certainly use his services again should I have any further door or lock issues.

I found out that I lost my key when i was traveling back to Edinburgh after visiting family 500 miles away.
I contacted Richard in the train on my way back to Edinburgh, and picked his company because of the good reviews, and because he immediately responded to my phone call. I did not have to leave a message or fill in a form to get a quote or go through an endless menu on the phone.
When I finally arrived after a looooong journey, he was at my place at the time we arranged, changed the lock and got me back in the house within 10 minutes.
Richard was kind, pleasant, and professional. It was a joy to meet him.
if it was possible I would rate him 10 stars and recommend him to everyone.

We needed to get a broken door lock replaced at fairly short notice (the door was jammed stuck, I was late for work, etc.). Richard turned up when he said he would and the lock was replaced quickly and without any fuss.

I had an out of hours issue where my door handle broke and I was locked out of my flat. I have used Hero Locksmith twice within the last few weeks - to replace a broken front door lock and also to replace a UPVC door handle and adjust another mis aligned UPVC door. Excellent, prompt service from Richard. Definitely agree with previous reviews - 5 star rating.

I had just moved into a new flat and being a bit dim didn't know how the lock worked properly. Richard came out promptly and it took him under a minute to sort the issue (key stuck in the lock). Not only that, he then checked the door and lock mechanism and refused to accept full hourly payment (if it had been a large company they would have fleeced me I'm sure). Very decent chap and will certainly use Hero again if needed. Also, I like to use local traders but like many very diligent in checking out the credentials and reviews. All is above board and all the good reviews certainly mirror my experience!

I contacted Richard on Sunday morning after googling a local locksmith and saw all the brilliant reviews.

He replied to my email within an hour and had provided a quote and was booked in to come see us on the Tuesday.

He arrived on time and explained everything he was going to do and also provided advice on what we thought was a broken lock requiring replacement (just needed a new key). He could have easily replaced the lock and charged £50+. Very honest and just what you would hope everyone would do (but they dont).

Put up with dodgy handle on front door for a while but it was getting impossible to lock so got in touch with Richard he pretty much diagnosed the problem over the phone gave me a price and arranged to come round next morning,very pleasant guy and went about his work in a professional manner,fixed the problem for us and insisted we tested the door before he left,extremely happy with the job he done and the amount we paid ,would definitely recommend

Great service from a local business, would certainly recommend. My front (UPVC) door lock had broken in that the key simply spun around (but the door was closed and locked). This was not the easiest job to solve, the old lock had to be drilled out. Everything done, and new lock installed in just over an hour of arriving. Richard also realigned the door, so that it would lock easier in the future. Cost seemed quite reasonable given the parts fitted and time taken. Richard himself was very friendly, and showed / explained everything to me.
