This is the second time we have used City Glass to install Secondary Glazing and would happily use them again. The fitter (whose name I can't recall - sorry!) arrived on time and fitted the windows speedily. The windows fit perfectly and have made such a difference - hardly any sound from the busy road outside!!

I can't recommend City Glass highly enough.

City Glass has installed 5 new double-glazed, sash and case timber windows for me, replacing 40 year old single-glazed windows. I couldn't be happier with the overall service, the standard of the work and the high quality of the windows.
The fitters were friendly, polite and efficient, tidying up well behind themselves, and didn't bat an eyelid at the awkward position of one of the windows (above a toilet and a bath).
The office staff helped me out by organising for the first 2 windows to be done before the winter, and then the other 3 in the spring, which helped me to spread the cost.
Over the winter the difference was very obvious on cold mornings, because the new windows had virtually no condensation on them (99.9% clear), in marked contrast to the old windows which were running with condensation!
The sound-proofing is excellent too and they are a dream to open and close now, including swinging the lower half in to allow for cleaning.
This company was originally recommended to me by a neighbour, and I will now happily recommend them to others myself.

We chose City Glass because one of us had actually previously had a good experience with them at work and we always like to support smaller local businesses when possible. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a bad decision on our part.

Replacing one window eventually took 5 months and 5 separate visits, each where we had to get time to work from home etc.

The first visit they came with the wrong window completely (we had originally asked for a quote for two windows but decided to only go with one for the time being due to finances and with clear communication about this they still ordered and brought the wrong window).

The second visit they came with the right window but wrong handle (the fitter said this was a common occurrence) and the glass was scratched.

The third visit a young director of the company came and replaced the handle and checked the glass to confirm the scratch but in the time between visits we had found that the window hadn’t been fitted properly and was actually letting in a draft and he confirmed this was also the case and fixed the issue while he was there.

The fourth visit they replaced the glass with another unit that had even worse scratches in the glass.

The fifth visit was the young director again, Dale, who had been out on the third visit and in both our meetings with him we found him to be good and cleaned up after himself etc. He installed a good glass unit and the window which was ordered in November was finally installed properly in the last few days of March.

At every point in the process we were always chasing them despite them saying they would get in touch when the window/handle/new glass came in. We would call a couple of days after the timeline they had given us had expired and get responses like, “Oh I meant to call you about that yesterday.” We were willing to overlook the first couple of mistakes and lack of communication but after that it just became a huge inconvenience and a bit of a farce. My boss must have thought I was at it with the amount of times I was asking to work from home for this one window.

Other annoyances were telling the fitter to either take his shoes off or wear foot covers for the carpet and then finding him walking about on the carpet with his boots on.

There were some apologies but these were always followed up by blaming their suppliers. I would point out that suppliers didn’t order the wrong window in the first place or the wrong handle and they didn’t fit the window incorrectly either. When the glass arrives with City Glass from their supplier they could then check it for scratches before bringing it out and wasting everyone’s time…especially when there had been so many issues.

When they sent the invoice through after their fifth visit I was quite surprised to see that they had taken no money off the original quote so I queried this saying that had I known it would be such a hassle I would have not thought the price quoted was good value. They got back to me and blamed their suppliers again saying that was the price. Doubly surprising seeing as they have a wrongly ordered window made to measure for my bathroom which we may have taken at a later date had they made things right. Not to mention all the other windows in the house which will need done over the next few years.

This is the second time we have used City Glass and have no hesitation in recommending them. They are very good value for money, arrived when they said they would and the fitter did an amazing job and cleaned up afterwards

Very pleased with the new double glazed wall and sliding patio doors. Stripped out old glazing and replaced on first day and came back the next to finish off plaster work. Such a difference compared to the old single glazing! Only issue was the wait for their supplier to deliver the glazing.

City Glass repaired a tilt and turn window at our house. Prompt, professional, tidy and reasonable. A happy customer.

They were polite & courteous, job done in two days, all mess cleaned up, they were great....... The team were very flexible over the timing of the work and were able to provide exactly the products that I wanted; at the time that suited me best. The installation went very smoothly and the guys were very polite and respectful of my property. They left no mess; just a set of lovely new windows.
