Around 18 months ago, I had City Glass install double glazing throughout my top-floor tenement flat, installing PVC sash and case units (from Victorian Sash). The service and quality of the work was excellent. The installers were highly professional, friendly, and flexible, adapting their approach so that my cat could be kept away from work areas. The attention to detail was excellent and the double glazing has made a huge difference to the temperature in my flat, keeping it warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The process was smooth, from getting a quote to having installation completed, and communication was clear and prompt throughout.

I was pleased with City Glass's brisk initial response when, apparently, they wanted the business, but I now very much regret not having looked elsewhere.

First, cost. I got them to fit a single secondary glazing unit, approx. 1 x 1½ m., which turned out to be a mere two hours' work. For this they charged £960 + VAT. When I asked (so as to be fair to them) for an itemised account, I got a rude email back, to the effect that it was none of my business. However, as far as I can tell from the likely cost of the unit, the labour charge amounts to several hundred pounds per hour.

Second, incompetence (or negligence). A later, less uncivil, response from the company still evaded any precise costing, but assured me the high labour rate was to take account of the firm's diligence and expertise. But, contrary to my specific concern expressed at the start of the process, the frame width of the new unit they installed permanently blocks the sash from opening inwards as it is designed to do. To attempt cleaning and repair I now have lean out awkardly over a 25- to 30-metre drop to the street below. So much for care and expertise.

Had a great experience with City Glass. I had them come in to install some new windows in my flat. They came in and measured the windows. Took a few weeks to manufacture them and then they installed them in one day. The new windows look great and importantly the flat is much quieter than before! Thanks again!

Five windows removed and replaced like for like with double glazing in ground-floor tenement flat, and shutters re-adjusted to fit. Delighted with quality of the work, and with the new windows, draughtproof, no noise and big improvement in heat retention. Painting was done to a very high standard by colleague Denholm, and the house was left clean and tidy. The team was efficient, work completed on time, and would not hesitate to recommend.

Dale and his team were very professional and hard working. Job mess was kept to a minimum and beautifully cleaned away at the end.
Took a full day to replace three velux and was a big job.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use again and highly recommend.

Dale from City Glass replaced two faulty double-glazed panes of glass in a bedroom window and repaired/adjusted two other windows which we had difficulty opening and closing.
He was very friendly and professional, his work was excellent and, on completion, the areas were left in spotless condition.
We were absolutely delighted with the finished result and we would be very happy to use City Glass again, or recommend the company.

I required 2 new windows and City Glass were very reasonably priced (we recieved a few quotes) the communication from the team were fabby and the guys done such a fantastic job fitting the windows. They look great and they left no mess which was even better! Would defo use again and reccommend.

I contacted City Glass to have a poorly installed porch door fixed as it was letting in water. Dale attended and identified the adjustment required. I was impressed by his professional approach and genuine commitment to ensure the work achieved a good outcome.

Broken window lock replaced and now back in full working order.

City glass double glazed all my windows over a period of time. Last week Dale created a wonderful double glazing solution for the ice cold cupula. The difference in the normally chilly staircase is incredible. Most grateful.

Absolutely love my doors with side windows. The quality and look is exactly what I was expecting. The fitters done an amazing job and left the place spotless. Great value for money and would definitely use again in the future ☺️

I had an old wooden front door replaced with new white pvc door it looks amazing and is more secure, also had old wooden single glazed dining room window replaced with a double glazed pvc one which looks great.
Fitters were polite professional guys and never stopped the whole time they were. I'm

City Glass replaced several failed double glazing units in our house and three rotten sashes. They were excellent - the estimate was competitive and allowed for a helpful discussion about what was required.

When it came to the work it became apparent that more work was required than estimated. This was dealt with extremely reasonably and professionally by Dale and the team, and I was kept fully appraised throughout.

All sash windows in flat replaced. Very satisfied with result, team was helpful and considerate, came back promptly to fix minor issues. The quote was not actually the lowest but glad nevertheless with my choice.
