Business Information
We are a design focussed practice based in Glasgow with projects across the central belt and south-west Scotland. We design house extensions, house refurbishments, attic conversions, interior re-planning and new build eco homes. We have a passion for energy efficient buildings and the sustainable re-use of existing structures. We have experience working with listed buildings and properties located in Conservation Areas.
We offer full and partial architectural services including pre-purchase surveys, sketch designs and feasibility studies, 3D design, planning applications, building warrant applications, detailed construction packages and specifications as well as managing the tender process and administration of a building contract during construction.

Amanda was incredible from start to finish. We live in a period property that is situated in a Conservation area so we were very aware that planning consent might have proven difficult. She listened to what we wanted and took time to research and present us with a number of possible solutions. Amanda and Alex gave us ideas that we hadn't thought about and we ended up with a design that was beyond what we could have hoped for. Amanda made very useful budget recommendations and was honest with all her feedback and input. The attention to detail and appreciation for design and practicality was always evident. I would recommend using Alex and Amanda to anyone.

Extension to house and alterations to inside, including installing new bathroom and kitchen and refurbishing shower room. Amanda has been very attentive and thorough and her attention to detail has been excellent. We are extremely pleased with the result and would happily recommend Flockhart Architects to others.

From the initial meeting through to final approval, everything went like clockwork. We were kept fully informed of developments by Alex and Amanda as the project progressed.No surprise additional costs or additions. A very professional and thorough service even in a pandemic! We are very happy to be able to use a local company and get superb results.

We engaged their services to design and draw plans for an internal staircase to the loft and to combine the kitchen/ dining room into open plan living. Alex's approach was very relaxed and comfortable, which put us at ease straight away, he talked us through the whole process and was more than happy to discuss any changes we wanted to make. I would highly recommend Flockhart Architect's.

Flockhart Architects carried out a feasibility study into the development of our village hall. This process produced plans for two fully costed design options and involved managing sub contractors (including surveyors, structural engineer, mechanical, electrical & plumbing and quantity surveyors,) and producing the building designs. Following this they contributed to our community consultation activities where views were sought on the designs produced and they have also obtained pre-planning advice from the local authority on our behalf. We are very happy with all aspects of the work undertaken and the professional yet flexible approach which was vital for a community based project like ours. We have no hesitation in recommending Flockhart Architects and hope to be using their services again soon to take forward the next stages of our project.

Drawings and planning application for a Sun Porch.
The architects gave us very good information and alternative drawings to consider. We found them to be very helpful and so relaxed to talk to and they discussed everything thoroughly. We would highly recommend the architects and would use them again.
