Remove upstairs doors(5 of), 10 sets of facings and skirtings to upper hall/landing area
Remove existing balustrade and handrail.

Supply and fit new backplate and handrail to wall, fitted with 5 Chrome handrail brackets
Cut hatch in floor at Top newel base and strengthen by glueing and screwing existing newel base.
Supply and fit new balustrade, white primed square newel posts,caps, square 41mm spindles and matching handrail

Supply and fit five Linear white primed doors(762x1981mm),each door Hung on two 100mm silver butt hinges and fitted with 75mm tubular latches and Burford lever on rose handles

Supply and fit 10 sets of 70mm white primed double pencil round facings.Supply and fit 120mm white primed pencil round skirting to upper hallway

All nail holes filled and sanded
All rubbish removed from site for disposal.

Stuart and his colleague came to patch up skirting boards after old electrical sockets were removed. They've done a beautiful piece of work, the joins between the old and the new wood are practically seamless.
He also offered solid advice on the joinery work needing done in the future (which did not end up being very much), being clear about the costs, benefits and urgency.

Very poor experience. My wife contacted this trusted trader and asked if he would repair our hall floor. He called out, checked what he thought was required and agreed to do the job. He called to advise he could do the work on Friday 29th November '19. I had to arrange time off to accommodate this. One of his tradesmen called out as agreed. He looked at the job and indicated it was more work than he expected. He also claimed he did not have the appropriate tools with him as his usual van was in the garage. He was unable to contact his boss. I managed to contact Mr Hamilton and asked what was happening. I reminded him that I had taken leave. He claimed the job 'was not what he quoted for'. I told him I needed the floor fixed and invited him back to re-check what could be done. He couldn't do anything on the day but assured me that he would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday to re-schedule. He never did. I cannot recommend this trader and will find another to do the repair.

I was initially looking for a local "handyman" to remove some display boards from walls and move a table to enable an office room to be painted ... I tentatively contacted Stuart Hamilton Joinery thinking the job may have been "too small". I need not have been concerned .... Stuart warmly accepted the job! He communicated well around arranging times to fit our limited office hours and they almost had the work done before I could blink! A pleasure to meet and I would certainly use when a "bigger job" comes on the radar!

Replacement window unit. Measured and fitted very quickly and at a great price.

Stuart's team, Sandy and Graeme put new windows and a new door in my porch. Their workmanship is spot on. They are very informative and helpful. This is the second time I have had work done by them and would definitely recommend.

Stuart attended promptly to supply me a quote, the quote was very reasonable. A date was agreed to start and finish the job which went very smoothly. All refuse was removed and the place left very tidy. Nice guy, great service, I will defo get Stuart back to quote me for any future work I require

Re boarded bedroom ceiling after water leak. Stuart responded to me straight away and gave us a quote and we decided just to go with him. Stuart has coordinated the completion of lots of different home improvement jobs (bathroom, rewiring, kitchen, room in roof insulation & a host of "wee" extras!!) He & his team have done well despite the recent difficulties created by Covid19.
Different trades were juggled efficiently to make the best use of time & resources. I now have a house I can move into that is finished to a high standard, and with the guarantee that Stuart is there to sort snagging (none so far).
Have already recommended Stuart to others.

Stuart did several jobs, including installing new insulation and plasterboard, replacing a damaged widow unit, and making good holes left after electrical rewiring. All the work was done to a high standard with good attention to detail, the communication was great and the disruption was minimal.
Stuart also offered advice about further work and was able to dispel some of my worries. I appreciated his clarity about work that in his view didn't need to be done. I feel lucky to have found a trader who does not look for problems where there aren't any. In short, I can't recommend him enough.

I contacted Stuart for a quote to hang 7 doors. He was really helpful in finding me the exact doors i had in mind. When he gave me the price I was happy to give him the go ahead. A few days later Carl arrived bang on time. What a perfectionist! And a grafter. He worked like a trojan! He cleaned up as he went along and kept me updated on how the work was progressing. I would definitely recommend Stuart's team to anybody. If I could have hand picked any joiner it would have been Carl. I have never met a tradesman with so much pride in their work. Very pleased with the responsiveness of Stuart. Pro-active in following up my initial call, then turning up to measuring the work when he said he would (that's a big deal these days) and ordering up the necessary material. He then arranged, within the expected timescales, a convenient time to undertake the repairs, undertaken by his employee Carl. Carl: Polite, pleasant and very competent. Work completed to my satisfaction, and I am fussy.

Contacted Stuart to hang 6 doors. Responded straight away with a quote. All work carried out to an extremely high standard and great communication throughout. All rubbish and old doors were removed and rooms left extremely tidy. Stuart’s staff were polite and helpful. Will definitely use Stuart for any future building and joinery work.

I required a small job to improve the security of my mother's home and Stuart could not have been more helpful.
Communication was excellent, timely and when Stuart said he would be with us at 3.30, that is exactly when he arrived.
Masks were worn at all times and distances observed which was reassuring.
He put a sheet down to gather wood shavings and worked efficiently.
I was pleased that in a busy schedule he made time for a little job which has improved the feeling of safety for my mum.

Had a very small job to be done, contacted Stuart and within a couple days came and promptly got it fixed. I had contacted some other local handymen but none turned up. Iwill be using Stuart in future for any size of job.
