I got a new boiler installed.
I liked the way there were no hidden payments. The quote included everything needed. The installers were friendly and tidy. There was a wee blip after installation and the plumber was back the same day I notified the company and it was fixed. No fuss.

Inquired at 9 30 pm on a friday night and got a phone call 2 minutes later. They got a man down next day at 12 30 and had the boiler fitted 3 days later. First class service from start to finish. I would highly recommend this company. Absolutely flawless service.

MPH were arranged by Wickes to fit a bathroom that was ordered through Wickes. Ewan came to complete the survey in advance. Unfortunately, he didn't pay close enough attention and this caused problems and unexpected expense down the line. I told him that I didn't think we wanted a plastic ceiling but he said they were great and he would send photos. He didn't send photos. When we received the quote we spoke with the office to check the price for having it plastered. The office checked with the tradesperson and told us the cost was about the same so we said we would like it plastered.
When Ewan arrived on site on day 1, he looked at the ceiling and said that plastering it would cost more as it was aertex and would need to be plasterboarded first. I had told Ewan at the survey when he was looking at the ceiling that I didn't know what a plastic ceiling would look like and wasn't at all sure it was what we wanted, but he assured me that he would send photos and we would like it. Ewan said that we wouldn't be charged extra for the ceiling due to us having been told the cost would be the same, however it was on the invoice and when we queried this with the office we were flatly told Ewan would never have said that.
Also, I showed Ewan the fuse box and was surprised that he didn't think it would need to be replaced but assumed that Ewan, as the professional, knew better than me. It was necessary to replace the fuse box and this added about £500 to the cost of the job.
We were advised to change the tiles, again Ewan said he would send photos of alternative tiles but didn't. He sent them to my husband later. MPH ordered the tiles and we paid but they ordered 7 boxes too many (value £136). MPH offered to arrange to return them to the shop, which is 45 mins drive from us. They never did collect and return the tiles so I had a 90 minute round trip doing this but thankfully the tile shop refunded the 7 unopened boxes. The shop was quite taken aback at the amount that had been over-ordered, as MPH knew the dimensions.
We had settled the quote in full, in addition to the cost paid to Wickes which covers essentials of fitting. We then received a further invoice for about £1,500, which was unexpected having paid the full quote in advance. We accepted that there was additional work required, in particular electrical work, but the survey should have picked up the majority of this, rather than putting the price up after the work was done.
The invoice included about £300 for "specialist tiling" based on the original tiles that were not used in the end, MPH removed this after we pointed it out.
The invoice also included about £200 for fitting the shower, which was included in the payment to Wickes. MPH removed this after we pointed it out.
The sum in the invoice for plastering was excessive in relation to what was done and MPH reduced this when we queried it.
The tradespeople that came to do the work were all polite, friendly and worked very hard to get our bathroom fitted. We took details for one (who is not directly employed by MPH) as we would gladly have him back for more work, but dealing with the company itself was incredibly stressful and had we not checked the invoice in detail, we would have been ripped off. I did point this out to the office at the point where they said they would get back to us about collecting the tiles and the cost of the ceiling. They never did get back to us on either point and we found dealing with them so difficult that having reduced the bill by the several hundred pounds that we had been overcharged we settled the rest. We ended up paying about an additional £1,000 afterwards, more than doubling the total cost of the job based on the survey.
Additionally, the invoice was repeatedly sent dated January 2022 and marked overdue, when we had paid the quote that was sent in January in full at the time, the subsequent invoices were sent in March dated January. I asked MPH to amend this twice and they did not.

We had a new combi gas boiler fitted in the kitchen. Our fitter John was quick and professional installing our replacement boiler which was much appreciated as my 98 year old mother in law can't go without heating for long. Was recommended MPH by a friend of a friend. Had a new combi boiler and radiators installed and it’s already saving money compared to the old inefficient storage heaters we had. Had a leak from a faulty pipe connector, which wasn’t anybodys fault, and as a gesture of goodwill they also fitted a sink and tap free of charge. The guys are very experienced and also tidied up afterwards, would highly recommend this company. Thanks MPH.

Had a Veissman Boiler fitted. Plumbing work was good, but had a question about some of the electrical work (due to a misunderstanding) and 10 year guarantee. No reply to 3 emails and 2 calls. They said my emails had gone direct to Trash and had missed my calls. They responded to my review on Trusted Trader and their service was immediately excellent again. I will put this down to a busy time for them and an error. We all have these. Taking a step back from one incident, MPH are a very good company.
