We used GR Windows and Doors to replace some windows along with a new back door.

I couldn’t recommend them enough. They were great and very professional throughout from initial conversation and approximate quote to measuring up for the actual quote and installation. One of our windows was particularly difficult and the installation wasn’t easy but they were able to install and ensured the house was left clean and tidy.

We will definitely be using them again for any future projects.

GR Window and Doors replaced all the upstairs windows, and one downstairs, which had seen better days.

After a call their surveyor came out, measured up, and gave us welcome advice on the types of windows and features that would suit our situation.

Following that visit communication by email was prompt and fitting was arranged around five weeks after placing the order.

The fitters arrived on schedule and completed the work over two days.

The fitters worked diligently and spotlessly and did a great job.

The all-round process was straightforward and we are delighted with the end result.

I contacted this company on behalf of my elderly mother regarding a longstanding issue with two windows not opening. I received a very prompt response and an arrangement was made for a surveyor to attend to coincide with me being there which was extremely helpful. The surveyor arrived at the arranged time and assessed the issue. He offered to try and get the windows open there and then which my mother happily agreed to. He had the windows open in no time at all so the issue was resolved in the one visit. Replacement windows - very straightforward

I didn’t actually get work done as this company were so honest that, despite knowing it would potentially be an insurance claim for the work I needed done, they advised me that it was a very minor job and we could repair it ourselves easily. A large number of companies these days would be happy to give false info in order to get more money knowing it was potentially being paid by insurance company.

We have just had the windows replaced in two rooms and are really pleased with the work carried out. The workmen were very good and got the job done quicker than we expected and with little mess! we hope to get the remaining windows replaced next year and will be contacting them again.

What was thought to be a hinge change on one window turned into a challenge. This was accepted and completed.
Excellent service and will happily use again.

We had a new composite door fitted I visited the showroom and was given advice and tips from the owner, honest and not trying to upsell and given a catalogue to look through. Contacted GR Window & Door specialists in January, received various catalogues to select door. On receipt of our order, an arrangement to take accurate measurements too place and within 2 days had a fitting date.
2 fitters arrived as promised within 2 hour window, and fitted door quickly and efficiently. The area was hoovered and left tidy. We had a slight snagging issue and within 24 hours, the fitters returned to resolve.

We contacted GR Windows & Doors to get a quote to replace an old timber window with a new PVC sash and case, to match as closely as possible the rest of the windows in the house.

The estimator came during the time window he said he would, was quick and efficient at measuring and quoting and got back to us very quickly with the quotation. I feel he did rush the measurements (he must quote for loads of people who don’t go ahead), which resulted in the window being small for the space when fitted. Luckily it was within the margin of error and the guys could fit it, albeit with more expanding foam around it than they’d have ideally liked. However, you wouldn’t know this looking at the window once fitted.

Wes was helpful via email at confirming timeframes and letting us come to view the samples of windows in-person.

The fitting was a number of months after quotation, but this was clearly communicated and out of their hands due to covid/supply chains etc, so no issues. Another measurement to ensure accuracy before goods were ordered would have put our minds at ease more here.

The fitters arrived when they said they would, were very efficient and quick at replacing the old window, tidied up as best as they could and left the window surround in as good condition as they could (a little bit of decorating required, but this was expected).

All in all a very good experience with all parts of the service and a great window now in place at a fraction of the price of some quotes.

I chose GR Services after having sought quotes from several glaziers in the area including multiple Which? recommended glaziers with good reputations. GR services were last on the list from the perspective of professionalism and trustworthiness but the company did offer low prices. I went ahead and entered into an agreement for their services mainly because there was a long wait for the other glaziers to become available. I sorely regret not having simply waited longer for the other glaziers to become available.
GR Services' statements in their emails sounded promising. One such statement is "Our fitting team will Lay dust sheets, ensure area tidied after completion and windows/door are cleaned when job completed."
On the prescheduled fitting date, the GR Services two employees turned up to perform the job only to then realise the company had ordered the wrong glass. This led to a 15-day delay.
On the second visit, during the height of the pandemic, the two GR Services employees entered my property showing little regard for safety by not wearing masks nor offering to. They hurried to the window carrying glass panes, a replacement window handle, a mallet and a chisel then started hammering at the window with these tools. It was surprising how rushed they appeared to be in their work which left me nervous about their duty of care.
When they reported having completed the job, I discovered the room was scattered with dust and fragments. Large amounts of dust and residue covered the bed nearby and covered the floor below the window. Dust sheets were not used as had been promised in writing.
There were stretches of black oil smeared across the new glass panes with fingerprints showing, having been covered in the oil. This also covered the window frame and the area below the window. The source of the oil was the handle being replaced, but with no care taken. Fortunately, oil was not dropped to the carpet although a glass shard was later found to have been. The window was not cleaned after the job, as had been promised in writing. The complete opposite had been done.
The two employees pressed me to sign a piece of paper stating they had done their work then hurried off. Not long after, I discovered there was damage all across the window frame with beadings misaligned and indents on the frame.
To add to the unfolding nightmare of contracting GR Services, the quality of the glass was found to be a major concern. While attempting to resolve a complaint with the company, GR Services revealed the certifier of the glass was named Independent Glass Co. Search for information on the company Independent Glass Co and you'll see all of the customer reviews are highly critical.
I sorely regret going with GR Services. I wish I had been more patient and waited for one of the Which? recommended local glaziers to become available. Dealing with the complaints process against GR Services exhausted huge amounts of time. A nightmare I'll try hard to forget.

We had four UPVC windows replaced on the front of our property. From measuring through to fitting we received an excellent level of service and the new windows are high quality and look great. I would highly recommend GR Window & Door Specialists.

I am in a top floor tenement flat and my old wooden windows were very much in need of replacing. G R Window & Doors came out to measure up and they went on to supply and install 5 vertical sliding uPVC windows, the whole process was made very easy from start to finish and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. We used GR Windows to replace a garage window.  They certainly did not live up to our normal experience from other Trusted Trader members. The quote was competitive and the workers turned up on time, but the quality of work and the attitude to customer service left much to be desired.

The window was not properly fitted and leaked in two places; sealant was sloppily applied and missing in some places; the work area was left in a mess with shards of glass and debris from the old window left on the floor and on the ground outside; a light fitting was broken (and no mention made of this at the time); and there was no making good of chipping to the harling caused by the removal of the old window frame.  The company at first refused to do any making good, even though all that was needed was a small patch of cement or mastic.  

Most disappointing was the hustling approach to signing of the completion sheet, dismissing questions and then, when problems were identified, citing small print in the contract as an excuse not to take any action and threatening debt collectors if payment was not immediately made.

After some unpleasant email exchanges, workers returned to reveal the window, albeit rather untidily, and it now appears to be watertight.  They did replace the broken light fitting and put some decorator’s caulk to patch the chipped harling, although this does not appear to be of good quality and is gradually being washed away by the rain.

Whilst the end result is adequate, the attitude of GR windows falls well below what I would expect of a Trusted Trader and I would not recommend their services.

I could not recommend G R Window & Door Specialists highly enough. Last year I had two bedroom windows replaced by one of the big Companies. The work was fine. This year, with lockdown I wanted to use the services of a local business and I am so glad that I did.

The work wasn't fine but EXCEPTIONAL! Higher standard of finishing and attention to detail than the bigger company.
From quotation stage to fitting, I was kept up to date with developments in a professional manner. Huge thanks to Colin and Shane, the fitters who were friendly and professional and left no hint that I had windows replaced.

GR Windows supplied and installed replacement vertical sliding uPVC windows in my 2nd floor tenement flat.

The whole process was very smooth. The initial visit was done by a fitter, who explained the options and had no trouble answering my questions. The quote was competitive and the communication was excellent throughout. The work was done on schedule (in one day) to a great standard and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. A minor snag was put right without any fuss. The new windows have been in for about a month and all is well.

GR Windows & Doors recently fitted replacement windows for our home. From the initial contact, quote through to the fitting, we have been so impressed with the quality and value for money. The fitters were excellent with a really impressive finish to the work and they were clean and tidy throughout.

- No hard sell - just a fair price and everything laid out simply so that we understood how the job would go if we were to go ahead.
- Quality - we had sash and case windows replaced and due to the way they scoped the job, were able to retain all of the existing wood facings and architraves with minimal impact on the existing frames - just some paint touch up.

Had 3 kitchen windows supplied and fitted. This is the fourth time I have used this company so that should tell you that I have always been satisfied with all aspects of the service provided and the competitive prices. Would highly recommend them.

GR provided the cheapest quote for replacement of 6 windows and one door in my two rental properties. The quality of the windows and door was excellent and they installed them on time and with minimal fuss or mess. My tenants said they caused no disturbance. I would have no problem in recommending GR.

Last August the GR team arrived to fit new double glazing to the front windows of my tenement flat and to refurbish the windows to the back. The work was completed in 2 days to a very good standard by 3 hard working, efficient and friendly workmen. Some minor remedial work has recently needed done and one of the workmen arrived within 2 days of me getting in touch with the firm to carry out the job. I have been very impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this firm.

This trader was a pleasure to deal with throughout (from estimate to completion). Office staff were easy to contact both by email and by phone and were polite, helpful and efficient – all our questions were responded to quickly, patiently and clearly.
Although put on hold by Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, the trader contacted us at the first opportunity and carried out the work within two weeks of re-opening.
The work was undertaken on the date agreed and completed as promised in a single day. All the tradesmen were professional, adhered to current health and safety requirements and left the work area tidy.
The result is excellent – aesthetically a great improvement (inside and out), the room's interior is considerable brighter and we are delighted with it.

We just had most of the windows in our house replaced and installed by GR window. It was quite a big job as there were quite a few windows to replace but the GR team have provided professional approach from start to finish - from all our emails and queries to the office ( Wes was very patient thank you !) to the actual window fitting. The final finish is great, the windows themselves look really nice and the house already feels less draughty. The team worked really hard, got the job done in good time, tidied up, took all the rubbish away and were all very cheerful. I asked G. R. Windows to install a vent in my bathroom window. Upon arrival they asked me wither it should go in the top window or the bottom one. I said I was unsure and they advised me it was to go in the bottom one. I asked if this would mean we could still open the window and they said it wouldn't matter, the window could still be opened. They successfully installed the vent, and as soon as they tried to close the window the vent hit the top window pain and the glass cracked. The individual carrying out the work then stated the vent should have gone in the top window, and that they would replace the lower window and install the vent in the top window. A few days later I was contacted by G. R. Windows who told me they were going to replace the lower window with a pane of glass with a pre-cut hole for the vent. I again asked if this was the correct place for the vent, explaining what had happened and was told I was wrong and it didn't matter. It took a second, extremely heated phone call, before G. R. Windows admitted the vent was going in the wrong place but only because "That's what you told us to do." At no point did I state which window I wanted the vent in and asking G. R. Windows was clearly a mistake. They then wanted to charge me £100 to replace the lower window, as well as a further £100 to install the vent in the correct place. I am extremely angry with G. R. Windows and want nothing further to do with them.

We had our front door replaced with a new composite door fitted. Has made a huge difference to our home not only aesthetically but in terms of insulation and the overall temperature of hall/indoors as well as a huge reduction in noise (there is no draft/noise now at all). Really impressed with the product and very happy. GR employees were professional and friendly throughout process, very easy to deal with and quick communication. The guys that completed the job were effective and polite, did not take them long and took all rubbish away with them.
Very happy overall and would definitely use again.

The shower room window in my new flat was replaced with a double glazed opaque window. Since the design I chose was a bit unusual it took some effort to arrange.
The people at G-R were always helpful and I am delighted with the result.

Had windows fitted a few months ago and should have left a comment then but a terrible experience with a different contractor hightlighted how important good feedback is for the people who do a good job. Really nice people (when I saw them because I was working most of the time they were in)! They were so quiet and left so little mess that when the job was finished and I came home from work it took me a while to realise that I had sparkling new windows! Really efficent, cost effectice and communicated really well (although very little was required with everything going so smoothly!). I felt safe and at ease with having them into the property (I live alone) as the gentleman doing the quote was really nice and genuine.

I had 6 windows replaced in my flat.

The entire experience was terrible. The final product is terrible. Each time I open a window I regret using this company. The silicon is still dirty and the section between both windows still has residual leftover in it. The cracks are visible in the corners, overall it was a huge disappointment.

The company broke personal items, used my vacuum to clear up concrete, left the common stair in poor condition, left concrete in my carpet.... the list goes on.

I would not recommend this company.

Phoned for a quote about 4 weeks ago and a friendly guy arrived when they said he would. Got a very reasonable quote for replacing 4 large windows. I was pretty specific on when I needed them done due to other work being done in my flat and GR were able to meet the timescale
Guys arrived yesterday with the windows and promptly set about removing the old ones. I stayed in for an hour or so then left them too it. There were 3 of them and they were all lovely guys. Returned about an hour before they expected to finish checked everything was going ok and left them again to return just before they were tidying up to leave

There was a tiny hiccup during installation where the letterbox was damaged, but it was replaced by the following day with no fuss. I couldn't recommend this company enough.

Excellent service, booked an appointment for the engineer to look at the job. He turned up on time and was able to do it there and then. Even helped fix another door which wasn't on our original job. Repairs were completed to a high standard and I was asked to check I was happy before the engineer left. Very reasonable prices too.

After receiving some vert high quotes form other companies i was lucky to be directed to G and R windows and doors by recommendation through a family member. Working from a tight budget and after some discussion with Graham, he told me that the best option would be to replace the large, 3 main DG window pains that had now condensation between the glass. Used GR Windows to externally and internally resealing all my windows ( not fitted by them) and from coming round to give a quote to finishing the job was excellent. Robert and Jack who did the work were friendly, professional, tidy and did a great job. I would definitely recommend them.

I've just had several windows installed by this company and have been very happy with the entire process. The customer service has been great from start to finish, and from every representative of the company. At every turn, they've answered my questions (of which I had many) well and honestly, even if the answer was very occasionally "no that's not an option." They've also been thorough in ensuring that I know exactly how the windows work. The windows themselves seem solid and are exactly what I ordered, although of course I cannot attest to their longevity one day after installation. The quote was very competitive; that and their care and patience with my questions before making a decision to choose their quote were two of the main reasons I went with them over other companies. I would recommend them and will likely get them back in future if I need other work of this type.

I really higihly recommend this company, not only for the excellent job done at my flat, and their attention to detail, but also for their skills in communication. So often I had been disappointed by tradesmen not able to reply to emails or phone calls, especially if not available or not interested, that it was a breath of fresh air to actually have a normal and easy exchange of messages to find a suitable time for both of us!

I can postpone the cost of replacement windows, so feel very relieved about that. And when I do, I will be sure to come to them for the quote!

Daughter had problems with a open/tilt window at her flat, unable to fully close it. GR Windows attended, after managing to arrange suitable time, at short notice. We able to find and fix problem, whereas another Company, who had already attended, had advised they were unable to fix the problem and would probably require a replacement window.
Will certainly use GR Windows again, should any similar problems arise in future.

Graeme was professional and helpful throughout. The manafacturer made an error with our order and when this was discovered on delivery to us by the installation team. Both they and Graeme were brilliant and insistent that we not settle for the wrong product. The identified the issue and contacted the manafacturer and within half an hour it had been reordered and decided the installation would go ahead anyway with someone returning once the replacement part had been manafactured to replace it, which happened a week later.

My favourite type of salesperson came to quote for us, someone who knows the trade and the product, which is rare and a delight. Guys came on time when arranged, no mess left, really accommodating. Couldn't have been more slick. The door itself has made a massive difference to the outside look and inside heat of the property. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a local trader.

I had a window pane replacement fitted and some sealing on outside of window. They sent Dave out within a couple of days of phoning and able to complete the job about a week and a half later (non-urgent job).

Dave was extremely helpful and did the job to a high standard. I really liked that he explained everything very clearly and felt I was receiving good advice. I will use their services again. There was a mix up over time job due to start, but really minor.

After reading reviews we called g r windows to see if it could be repaired. They came out the following morning and fixed it there and then at a very reasonable price. We have just had a new door. We were very happy with the company. Genuine guys, no hard sell, honest and reliable. Andy came and was knowledgeable about the different doors and their construction and suitability but left the decision to us. 2 guys arrived on time and were very polite. They took the time to do the job properly and explained what they were doing as they went along. They were very keen to make sure I was absolutely happy with everything. The final finish sealant and trims were made to measure. I think we got one of the cheaper doors and the quality of it is excellent so don't feel you have to go for the more expensive ones. They will give you good advice based on your needs and not try and sell you what you don't require.

If you are considering getting windows or doors I would strongly recommend Graeme and his Team. We got quotes from the usual suspects who advertise on TV and avoided like the plague due to their poor level of interest from their Sales Reps in relation to basic questions. I would have no hesitation in using again or recommending to anyone else !

Guys were nice. Seem professional/ Came on time, made suggestions etc with what we should go with.
After doors installed, the frames installed were not the right ones (but more expensive so that is a bonus to us apparently, ultimately not what we asked for - but fine because they looked good).

The doors were left in poor state (lots of badly damaged plaster work, holes, door was a bit wonky). This is ok as things can go wrong but it was left as a finished job, so had to chase on it otherwise we'd have been treated as finished.
Called and owners and they agreed it wasn't good enough. Several more visits, work is now "finished" but I'm left with painting to redo which I had specifically asked about (I was told it would be a "finished job"), and the seal had to be redone so looks bumpy/uneven.
I can't be bothered with another call at this stage so will have to fix myself.

All in all, I would have been happy with price for a hassle free job, but one day turnaround turned into 4 visits, and painting still to be done in my own time.
Expensive given the service provided and inconvenience caused. Appreciate some of it was out of the company's control, but ultimately as the customer I still don't have a finished job and wouldn't use the company again unless they were the cheapest available and I was willing to finish it up myself.

This is an exceptional company. They are incredibly knowledgable, efficient, polite, customer service is 2nd to none, and their after care is excellent. No job is too small or too big. They have even corrected a faulty product that i had fitted by another company, with no hassle. I have now used them twice for a variety of different door and window jobs. I will be using them in the future!

Great service, really happy with the speed that Graeme corresponds, much cheaper than what we were expecting for a front and back door with screen surround. On the day of fitting the boys arrived early, were happy to be left on their own and were so patient with my dad, who has dementia as he got ready to go out. All areas were cleaned and old doors and all other waste removed. I was phoned when the work was completed as well. Would definitely recommend especially if you are worried about relatives having to be in the home when workmen are around. I felt very relaxed and comfortable with the team that came to do the work.

GR Services installed a new door for us, replacing an old timber door that had seen better days. As well as being exceptional value, the team fitting the new door went over and above what was expected. In addition to being exceptionally tidy, whilst fitting the new door they took care of many gaps/joints/imperfections in the existing frames to leave the finish as tidy as possible. The fitting of the windows was very professional. Andy and his team were conscientious workers and took pride in what they do. Their work was of a very high standard. They worked steadily and kept me informed along the way. They cleaned up after themselves. When the job was completed Andy noticed a scratch on one of the panes of glass ( I would never have noticed it was so small) the pane of glass was ordered and replaced promptly. I was impressed by their integrity.

We had original wood windows throughout the front of our villa flat and wanted to get PVC double-glazing but keep the look and feel of our heritage windows. Graeme suggested we replace our old windows with sash and case PVC, and we are very happy with the results. The service and the standard of the windows were all excellent.
