We are not a national Franchise company who charges high prices. We Are a local company based in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh. Because we are mobile Locksmiths, we have next to no overheads. This means we can pass the savings onto the customer.

All our prices at Alcatraz locksmiths are fixed. We can give a customer an accurate quote over the phone by simply asking a few questions regarding what service they need. If a customer is not sure what they are talking about or they would prefer a face to face quote that is no problem too. We will go to the property and give a free quote with absolutely no obligation to use our service

We realise having problems with your locks can be stressful. That's why we aim to be at all jobs within 30 minutes of receiving the call. We accept all payment methods, and all work comes with a 1 year guarantee.

Danny provided a quote for the work prior to visiting me and once on site he was honest in identifying where I could save money as part of the installation. Great advice on security. The work was carried out promptly and efficiently and I'm very pleased with the final result. Phoned Alcatraz and got a timescale of arriving between 1 and 2pm same day. Arrived just after 1pm. He fitted a new lock to my front door, replacing old faulty lock. Aligned the door for me as well so all worked as it should. I also got him to supply and fit a new more secure lock to my back door. He was very quick and efficient. Work was well priced. Very friendly and I will definitely use him again, if an occasion occurs.

Phoned Alcatraz this morning around 10:00ish, after reading reviews on this site. Danny has just left. He fitted a new lock to my kitchen door, replacing old faulty lock. He was very quick and efficient, and he was right on time that he said he would get here. Work was very reasonably priced. Danny himself was very friendly and I will definitely use him again, if an occasion occurs.

Alcatraz responded promptly to our request and came out the next day. Our French doors had become almost unusable and Danny realigned the doors for us. He also showed us how to tighten the hinges if we need to. He was very professional and friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alcatraz or to use them again.

Threatening to break for a while, our dodgy patio sliding door lock broke this morning, leaving the door unlocked. Danny was quick to fit us in and able to change the lock - saving us the expense of buying a whole new patio door! He also changed the handles on our front door so they spring closed again. Totally value for money and excellent service - I definitely recommend Alcatraz Locksmiths (as well as the excellent name!).

Woke to find that I could not open the back door as mechanism in upvc door had jammed (not for the first time). Phoned and was told that someone would arrive between 11-12 that morning. Danny duly arrived on time, fully explained the problem and carried out a comprehensive repair. Was pleasant and was obviously a tradesman who knew his stuff. We were very pleased with the result and the reasonable price. Would not hesitate to recommend!

I called Danny from Alcatraz Locksmiths and explained the problem with the door and how we were unable to lock them. He said he will come in 25 minutes and he kept his word, he arrived on time, fixed the door and explained the issue to my partner. He texted me after, that the job was done. I will definitely use that company in the future and recommend it also.

I required a locked door to be opened and new lock installed, Alcatraz Locksmiths were extremely fast at responding to my request. They were very professional and set about the job at hand, they installed an upgrade lock to the door and the price quoted didn't change at all. I was extremely pleased with the level of work done and how fast it was done, I highly recommend Alcatraz Locksmith to anyone that requires an excellent but cheap locksmith.

Key snapped in the lock. Called and got an instant quote to fix, which I thought was very reasonable, and was told they’d be there in 20 minutes. Arrived on time and had the job completed in no time. Very good at maintaining social distancing and very polite too.
Turned a very stressful situation into a very easy one!
Can’t recommend highly enough, especially after hearing some horror locksmith stories in Edinburgh.
