We are not a national Franchise company who charges high prices. We Are a local company based in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh. Because we are mobile Locksmiths, we have next to no overheads. This means we can pass the savings onto the customer.

All our prices at Alcatraz locksmiths are fixed. We can give a customer an accurate quote over the phone by simply asking a few questions regarding what service they need. If a customer is not sure what they are talking about or they would prefer a face to face quote that is no problem too. We will go to the property and give a free quote with absolutely no obligation to use our service

Alcatraz replaced the cylinder in our street door lock and cut 16 keys. They called back when they said they would, attended promptly and did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Have used them before and would do so again.

I had problems with the lock on the door into my flat, so much so that yesterday I could not lock it from the outside. Today I phoned four other locksmith companies who all gave a reason (I'm on holiday, I'm too busy, I don't work at weekends etc). This was the first company that I actually spoke to a person, and Danny expressed a willingness to come even though he only works on Saturday mornings, and this was 3pm. He came by 5pm as he had promised and gave me the reassurance that his adjustment would prevent this happening again. I see the work is guaranteed for one year. I am a very satisfied customer and will certainly recommend this firm.

I called Danny at lunchtime today and he attended my mother in-laws home to remove her broken key from the lock, replace the barrel and went the extra mile to realign the Upvc door.
Trustworthy, reliable, courteous and polite and reasonable price. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Back and front UPVC door locks and handles well past their best. Phoned Alcatraz and they came the next day within the times quoted.

Great prompt response, with the job done efficiently at the price quoted. It is lovely to have such a dependable service. The problem (broken patio door lock) was fixed, and we were shown how to stop it happening again. We would certainly use this trader again (although hope we don’t have to!)

Two external doors from sun room would no longer lock securely. Contacted Alcatraz one afternoon, after explanation and discussion they arrived the next day and on time. Work was carried out, with replacement items fitted from stock held in the van. (No popping off to Screwfix or B&Q to get spares. I was previously charged 2 hours by an electrician for getting parts). Various option were discussed throughout, identifying the problems, giving me options and recommendations. Work carried out professionally and neatly with a proper tidy up when the jobs were completed.
A day later I identified a minor issue which just need tidied up and when Alcatraz were contacted in the late afternoon, were in attendance the next morning to resolve.
This is sound, quality and professional service we expect but so seldom can find. Cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely being using Alcatraz the next time I have any lock or security issues.
