Really pleased with my boiler replacement in March. Very professional service and the work was carried out to a really high standard. When problems were encountered, such as the stopcock having seized and the external supplier valve being unusable, the guys just dealt with it. I wouldn’t hesitate to use again for future work. Plumbing and electrics - fitting a new kitchen, upgrading hot water system and general work associated with rental properties. They are punctual, reliable, clear with quotes and above all else, a very high standard of workmanship. In carrying multi-trades it takes the pressure away as they can see to the whole job. just a couple of week ago we contacted J.W.A again as required two inline vents to be suppplied and installed one in kitchen and one in the showeroom, both were fitted into the ceiling and vented up through the roof, another great job done.

I had work completed in my new home from one of the Joiners which I was anxious about prior to working with JWA. The customer service received was fantastic, really polite and well mannered. In regards to the works completed it was very efficient and delivered to an exceptional standard. Everything was kept clean and tidy which gave me comfort my home was treated with care. Given the quality of work I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing of the job! I couldn’t recommend this company enough as they really put you the customer first. I’d happily have them back for future works!

Replacement of a shower, replacement of 5 radiators, replacement of oven, hob and sink. The work carried out took 5 months to complete.

Despite calls and e-mails the firm would not respond in a timely manner.
Frequently weeks between anyone coming to continue the work, which was not extensive or complicated.

Overall, all the quality of the work was acceptable once snagging was complete. The electrician was friendly and very efficient, finished in one afternoon.

The constant chasing, requesting information and lack of communication was unprofessional and had an impact on the trades I had to get to do the rest of the work.

I would not use again nor recommend.

Wanted a small job done. Came next day. Great job. 2nd time a have used them and Would use them again. Would recommend.

Old boiler taken out of bedroom and new one installed in the attic, new radiators in stall in every room. Plug socket and new light in attic all extra that we didn’t t think of but it wasn’t a problem to the boys. No mess and friendly. Used for another house so did t hesitate to use again. Thanks.

We always use JWA for gas boiler servicing.The engineers arrive at the time slot previously specified and are polite and clear away any mess if any has been made,They also wear masks.
We've also had an electrical work survey carried out and reported on for a council completion certificate. Again, no problems, every procedure explained and work completed in the specified time.
We wouldn't use any other firm now.

I needed lots of little jobs done, replacing toilet flush and tightening up the kitchen tap. A couple of plugs not working and a loose connection to a light fitting. I HATE having to call and deal with trades people, nothing personal, just a general anxiety.
The guys that came out were amazing, they were on time the work was done within an hour and they didn’t make me feel silly for calling.
I would highly recommend and will be using again in the future.

Boiler and gas fire service.

First class service again, prompt, efficient, clean and tidy. Although slightly delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions they were able to get this completed early in May. Also sorted out a WC flush and replaced some tap washers during same visit. Both men were very polite and not intrusive at all. Been using JWA for a number of years now and always been delighted with their service and attitude.

Had problem with toilet flushing. Plumber came about 2 hours later. Had to go to Macmerry for a part. Did the job very quickly. No problems since. Would certainly use the company again and would reccommend them.

First class service and quality workmanship all round from initial assessment to timeliness and efficiency of tradesmen. Quality check also covered by manager when work completed for further reassurance. Would definitely use this company again and recommend to anyone looking for top quality and service to match.

I needed a toilet flush changed and have previously had problems with other companies in trying to get good service/people turning up on time, answering the phone etc.
This was straightforward from start to finish, easy to book an appointment with friendly service, the plumber turned up right on time, followed all the current rules and was polite and friendly and did a really good job. I would definitely use again for large or smaller jobs.

I’ve used the firm at least 3 times for a blocked toilet, water not refilling in cistern over the last few years. Each time they have come on the same day I contacted them and fixed the problem. And each time the workmen are polite and friendly. And there’s no ridiculous £100 call out charge b4 they look at a problem which seems to be the case with a lot of firms. I’ve found the bill to be a fair price. Thoroughly recommend them.

Everything was done to perfection and more came on time everyday finished when they said they would job done so well.

Job was postponed due to Covid, but well worth waiting for. Fitted an electric water heater. Did an excellent job, neat tidy pipe work.

Jim and his team fitted our kitchen for us and we couldn't have been happier with the service we received. The quality of the work was excellent and any minor snags were dealt with within a week. We'll definitely be using them again for any future projects.

Firstly, the kitchen lighting was replaced using LED fittings.
Then the old floor mounted boiler was replaced with a wall mounted condensing boiler in a different position. Both works were completed in a very professional manner; started and completed as programmed and a neat and tidy installation. One minor snag after completion was resolved within an hour. Highly recommended.

We had floorboards replaced upstairs and downstairs, the joiners were very efficient and tidy. The work was completed quickly and they tidied up before leaving.
We also had pipework done in the bathroom and the plumbers were as good as the joiners - quick and clean, you wouldn't have known they had been.

Installation of new boiler.
From the initial meeting to discuss requirements to the actual installation work everything was conducted very professionally. The product offering was exactly what I wanted and all aspects of the installation work was carried out carefully and exceptionally well. The installation engineer was very knowledgeable and explained the boiler functions to us in clear unambiguous terms.

We had a boiler replaced. They turned up on time and the two plumbers were professional, hardworking, polite and tidied up after themselves. I thoroughly recommend James W Alexander and would definitely use them again.

James Alexander fitted a kitchen for me which involved : ripping out an old kitchen, installation of all appliances, units and even a tiled flooring. The work was carried out efficiently, completed earlier than I expected.
All the tradesmen involved were very respectful of the environment they were working in, leaving the property immaculate.Their professionalism instilled confidence in me that the job would be completed to a high standard.
James oversaw all the work, constantly on call to answer any queries. Nothing was too much trouble for him, even collecting heavy tiles for my new floor.

Jim and his team installed a Magnet kitchen. As well as carrying out works required which included joinery, plumbing, gas and electrical work, a new floor had to unexpectedly be fitted (due to displaced pipes). Jim contacted me to explain the reason for the additional works and and the work was carried out without affecting the end date.

The staff are excellent, from Anne at reception to all the various men sorting out my plumbing problems over the years. Arriving on time, very polite, friendly and tidy. Problems always sorted out with a smile. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jim's team installed our new kitchen so some of the spend figure is included in that, and some was for additional work (flooring, electrics etc.) My wife and I are delighted at the quality of the work carried out - good old-fashioned craftsmanship which you don't come across much nowadays. The joins on the new Minerva worktop were invisible after they'd finished! They also threw resources at it when the initial strip out and install took place, so disruption minimised. The photo doesn't do justice to the installation as we still have to complete the re-decoration, but I'd happily go back to James Alexander for our next home improvement.

Install a Magnet Kitchen bought from Magnet Musselburgh plus additional joinery, plumbing, tiling, gas and electric work required as a result of the new kitchen.

Jim’s company was subcontracted by Magnet to fit our kitchen. We needed much more work to be carried out before, during and after the fitting. Jim and his team rose to the challenge and carried out all the works whilst he continually reassured us that everything would be fine. How right he was. All his workforce performed their numerous and varied tasks with professionalism and were a joy to have in our home. No matter what we asked of the Jim and his team, they would do it. We now have a kitchen that we are delighted with and it draws many admiring comments. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jim and his team, when he says it’ll be fine, it was!

My job involved replacing the kitchen tap and one of the bathroom taps. I phoned James W Alexander and was able to fix up an appointment for the following day. Ian came out and replaced both taps quickly and efficiently. He was friendly and polite and cleared away all rubbish caused by the installation work. I found that all staff that I had contact with were professional and helpful, and would certainly recommend the company.

Replacement of conventional gas boiler with new condensing boiler

First class service from start to finish. When our 22 year old boiler finally packed in, we had a visit the next day which confirmed that this was beyond repair and then the following day to survey and discuss options. We decided to go with the Worcester Bosch Greenstar condensing boiler (which is more efficient than conventional) and would come with 10 year guarantee. The workmen were very professional, clean, tidy, courteous at all times. Particularly pleasing was having this work completed before we headed off for a short holiday we had planned. Also how they managed to conceal the new condensate pipe. More than happy to recommend.

Absolutely went above and beyond to help me out in an emergency, I cannot recommend highly enough. I manage 20 flats and I will be using this company again without a doubt.

Replace boiler: I was very impressed by the customer service.  I especially appreciated how considerate and what care the team took of my property.  They were friendly, trustworthy and helpful.  Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Disconnect and remove existing combi boiler and supply and install new Worcester combi boiler: It was a pleasure to deal with this company.  From attending to give an estimate through to completion - they were courteous, tidy and considerate.

Removing old and fitting new boiler: We cannot fault this company in any way.  The men were courteous and very professional.  Definitely excellent service and we have not hesitation in recommending this company.

Installation of new boiler, relocation of kitchen wall unit, replacement of pipework between boiler and existing gas radiators.  Fired up existing radiators: The installation of boiler, new pipework etc was carried out to a very high standard and in good time.  I am highly impressed with the finished job.  Also this is very good value for money.

Disconnect and strip down and remove storage heaters and panel heaters.  Supply 2 x Dimplex storage heaters and wire up to existing off-peak supplies.  Supply and install 2 x Dimplex panel heaters: Found the service from start to finish excellent.

Everything from bathroom removed, tiles, basin, toilet, bath furniture, flooring.  Complete re-fit, toilet, basin, furniture, wall panels, walk in shower, flooring, ceiling: Delighted with the work, am 81 so much easier for me.  Workmen are very pleasant, courteous, well mannered, kept me up to date.

Combi boiler replaced: The company arrived as planned and put down plastic coatings and dust sheets from front door to kitchen.  I left them to  it as had to go to work.  On my return the job was finished and the kitchen was as I left it.  Very neat and tidy and respectful company.

Replacement of oil central heating boiler and other consequential alterations: Thoroughly professional, attended within a few hours of boiler failure in the 1st instance and then completed the replacement within <1 day on the agreed date.

Remove old gas central heating boiler and replace with new boiler: Excellent work will use again.

Replace Worcester Bosch for new one.  Same make: Workmanship was fantastic.  Floor protection, didn't stop for T breaks.  Pleasant, courteous.  Easy to talk to and explained everything - clean & tidy.  Even hoovered by Henry, so no complaints.  Price compared to other installers was so much cheaper and guarantee is 8 years.
