Supplied and fitted 4 LED floodlights to garden area removing previous well-worn and out of date fixtures. Sandy previously upgraded a very old fuse box to dual RCD with MCBs AM3 compliant. Consolidated existing circuits and switchgear into consumer unit. Upgraded mains connection to meter and main earth to conductor. Tested and verified.

Results were excellent. Two badly needed jobs that were well and pleasantly executed. It's good to know we now have a good, reliable electrician to call upon in the future.

I texted Sandy this morning re a problem with a shower not working. He arrived at 4.30 and sorted an unsafe circuit board that would have caused a fire had he not intervened, then charged me nothing because the unit, installed in 2020, was faulty. He said he’d claim from the makers of the unit. I am not surprised by this quality of service as he and his son have previously done work for me that was of high quality and completed in good time. In addition, watching him and his son working together, showing respect and consideration for each other was a pleasure. I have no hesitation in recommending his firm for work in any household.

I obtained four quotes for an Electrical Installation Condition Report and Sandy responded the quickest and provided one of the most competitive rates. He turned up on time and was professional and polite. He answered all my questions clearly and explained the report and recommendations for future work. I wouldn't hesitate to use again.

We had Sandy come out in May for an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Following on from that report we made a list of the issues needing addressing and additional work we wanted doing. Sandy gave advice about safety regarding the mains unit and recommendations for the electricity meter (to pass on to supplier).

Sandy and his son replaced all the single sockets to twin socket adapters; replaced other twin sockets with new ones; replaced light switches throughout house and pullcord in bathroom and light pendants (as they were all different styles and ages). They also fitted blank plates on redundant heating outlets as house used to be heated with electric storage heaters.

They worked on the consumer unit as well and isolated and removed redundant sub mains, blocks and off peak consumer unit. They upgraded the consumer unit to dual RCD and upgraded / checked the whole system. We got them to remove old satellite dish as well.

Originally we wanted to fit outside lights at front and back door, but had changed our minds - due to a misunderstanding they did fit an outside light at back door. Sandy was apologetic and straight away offered a solution that we were both happy with (kept light but paid only for cost of light, not fitting). They also replaced the vent grid of our fan extractor which was partly missing and had become brittle (it had come completely off when they were removing cables of satellite dish).

We were very satisfied with the work they did and when we paid the invoice Sandy offered to fit us a new socket free of charge for our condensing dryer which sits in a cupboard because we had paid our invoice promptly.

Overall we would highly recommend this father and son team - they were very friendly and professional and did a great job in making our house safer and up to current electric standards! Would highly recommend!

I contacted Mr Ramage with a view to fitting two outdoor lights to replace old ones no longer working.
I was quoted a price and was lucky enough to be able to have the job done the next day.
There was a considerable amount of work involved to replacing one of the old fittings which was unforeseen, but both Mr Ramage and his son did a great job, and in the pouring rain.
I would recommend AW Ramage & son for any electrical work required, and would use them again in future without hesitation.

I've been recommended Sandy by few of my co-workers and also found him here. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality of work, speed and communication. Sandy is very helpful and understanding. Sandy advised us and supplied and installed new interlinked Smoke/Heat alarms and a Carbon monoxide detector at our property. On completion, he issued us with a Fire safety certificate and provided clear instructions on regular testing and maintenance. He also carried out some repair work to our outdoor (PIR) security lighting. This was a very professional service, carried out quickly and competently at a reasonable price. Fantastic job installing a new oven, some work was needed on the kitchen unit so it would fit. Sandy arranged for a joiner to come with him, I didn't have to do anything. A first class job, I would and have recommended to neighbours and friends

Sandy replaced an outside security light that was connected to the mains with a newer floodlight. He was quick to respond to my original enquiry and arrived to the job at the time agreed. Work was carried out to a professional standard and the new light looks and works great!

This was the third time we have used this electrician. Once again Mr Ramage and his son were very courteous and very professional. They worked quickly and efficiently but were also very patient in explaining everything to us. Sandy did brilliant work installing ceiling pendants, a flush ceiling fitting, a chandelier, a bulkhead, tracks and USB plug sockets in my Victorian tenement flat. Very reliable, quick, tidy, trustworthy and at a good price. Sandy was great working in an old flat (which, we found out, had some very old wiring insulated with newspaper hidden away!) and he went the extra mile to tidy up existing electrical issues. Also, when one of the switches was faulty, Sandy came back the next day and fixed it right away. A class act, highly recommended.
