We had a roof which was requiring all the tiles re-nailed/re-fitted properly. This was after Scotia homes failed to build it to proper standard and manufacturing specifications.
The quote I received was 50% cheaper than the second cheapest. The work was carried out to the EXACT dates that were promised (I had a very specific window for this work to be carried out). The quote price was accurate. Any issues were dealt with (water got in from a downpoor and the ceiling plasterboard was falling off due to it) without any issues and to a professional standard.
Communication was a breeze. I would be able to get a hold of the boss man whenever I wanted. The trademan who did the roof was also extremely knowledgeable! They explained how it was fitted originally and what was wrong.
I will be using Monarch Builds again. They initially came recommended from a work colleague who said the same thing about them.

Monarch have now completed two extensions for me across two homes as well as windows being replaced. From the very first contact they were hugely impressive. The design process was easy with the company listening to my input on layout and design. Drawings, as well as all communications, were followed-up very quickly and efficiently. The process of all paperwork for council etc. were all dealt with smoothly by the company.

The most recent build was in 2025 where I knocked down an internal wall, removed a conservatory and built out further in to that space as well as replacing windows and guttering in the existing section of the house. From digging the foundations to completion, the work was completed to the highest standard with good logistics, comms and finishing. The office team as well as the team working on the house were extremely helpful and friendly. A supporting beam was required during the build as well as deeper foundations than the conservatory. This additional scope was handled easily by Monarch from architects to equipment, materials and manpower. Monarch have also replaced windows in this house as well. Again, the diligence in this job was exceptional.

In my former home I also did an extension with Monarch. This was a large scale project which again, went very smoothly with no hassle to me whatsoever despite various challenges with bathroom plumbing, wood burner routing and steel load baring upright beam which was fitted very aesthetically.

Any snagging after the jobs were completed were handled professionally and courteously by the whole team in the office and on site. Nothing is to big a problem before or during the job for the team.

I plan to use Monarch again for future jobs. I am not usually one to leave reviews and can be a challenging customer with design and detail but with Monarch, it was easy, straightforward and price wise they are extremely competitive especially consider the service and standards they provide. They are a class act and I can not recommend them enough

Monarch Builds designed and built an extension with roof lantern to extend our existing kitchen/sitting room to double the size, exactly as we planned.
Media wall was built into the design to give us a TV lounge area with open plan kitchen.
Kitchen design was done separately with another supplier and Monarch Builds fitted it all and kept in close contact with us and kitchen supplier throughout the process.
Everything from initial consultation and visit from the owner to the tradesmen who did the work was first class and we are delighted with their workmanship, follow-up and final result.
We are now using Monarch Builds for full window and doors replacements and further building / renovation work too.

We wanted to remodel our kitchen / dining / living space to give it a more contemporary style and to create a separate utility room.

From years of experience, Darren was able to make excellent suggestions as to the way to achieve the desired look. Working closely with Laings Direct at Inverurie, the team at Monarch transformed our rather dated ground floor into a delightful space which we will enjoy for years to come.

Monarch builds have been our builder now since their first year in business back in 1996.
They have built us a beautiful roof top orangery, replaced all our windows and doors, altered two rooms into one open sitting room with roof velux window, built a double garage, replaced facias and lastly replaced our complete house roof. Monarch Builds provided an excellent Design and Build service to us on a Sunroom/Lounge/Kitchen project utilising a space between Side of our House and Garage.
Their Architectural design service was able to meet and exceed our design requests.
They processed the Planning/Building warrant process smoothly.

Tradesmen were friendly, tidy and paid great attention to detail.

After several other quotes and a bit of research, we found Monarch Builds online. We liked that they offered a whole project and single contact approach. When we asked for our initial quote, we knew that we wanted an additional living space and new kitchen, but we didn't know exactly how to best achieve this. Darren was extremely creative with an excellent eye for detail, and he came up with a design that other companies had not thought of, maximising the potential of our available space within our budget.

Monarch Builds managed our whole project from start to finish. Every aspect of our Garden Room project was completed to our satisfaction and we are very pleased with the end result. It has resulted in an attractive high quality extension to our living space which has been complemented by all who visit our home.
We were extremely pleased with the quality of the work that went into the construction of the extension. The quick progress made during each stage of the build, and the way that the various trades were brought in as needed was very impressive. Communication, too, with all concerned was faultless.
We would particularly like to mention the quality of the joinery workmanship which formed the main element of the construction job, and the tireless work rate of the joiners concerned who were always friendly and concerned to ensure our customer satisfaction.
All the specialised tradespeople - e.g. groundworks, roofing, electrical, heating, painting and decorating - who were brought in by Monarch, were excellent, and they all impressed us with their knowledge, competence, and commitment to good communications with us. Monarch have built two house extensions for
us over the past ten years, the first a double height extension housing a new kitchen utility and bedroom suite, and the secondly a sunroom in place of an old conservatory. Both projects were undertaken with professionalism and dedication. The work was completed by Monarch start to finish and they seen both jobs through to the very end, leaving no loose ends or unfinished work of any kind. If i have any future house projects of scale to undertake again then Darren and the team will be my first call.

Fantastic work done by Monarch Builds and the team. They did the initial designs and plans for my extension, then got all the building warrants and permits required. They then carried out the full build and pretty much all works required apart from things they couldnt do like moving the Electrical and Gas supplies which had to be done by the supplier.

They kept me informed every step of the way and every person from the builders, joiners, electricians, plumbers, project manager, labourers were all extremely nice and helpful.

They managed to accomodate every request or enquiry I had and I wouldnt hesitate to use them again or recommend them as they were fantastic from start to finish.

There was obviously a couple very minor issues during the build and once all the works were complete but that was to be expected on a big job like this. Things like wrong doors or parts arrived instead of what was ordered, or doors not closing properly once they were painted. Very minor issues really but each issue was resolved in a very timely proffesional manner. Anything that came up unexpectedly I was kept well informed and advised of generally multiple options to resolve and what they deemed as the best course of action.
