A complex task involving rebuilding of a 100 year old boundary wall damaged by a large beech tree planted too close to the wall.
The tree and stump had to be removed,part of the wall needed to be removed to allow the tree to be felled/stump to be removed and the wall and fencing had to be rebuilt .
William carried out the task to perfection with craftmanship,diligence and professionalism .Attention to detail excellent and faultless. Communication with myself and 2 other contractors excellent.
Cannot rate Ravenswood too highly and would strongly recommend their services.
Will definitely use them again.

Mr Ross provided a fair estimate for a piece of high specification groundwork.He kept in touch over a date for work on site and executed in cold winter conditions. He and his colleague worked very hard and completed the project to an excellent standard. He is experienced, expert and courteous and utterly reliable . Strongly recommended.

I was very pleased with the work carried out by Ravenswood to landscape the area to side/rear of house and solve a very tricky drainage problem. William came up with a solution to reroute the rainwater from the garage roof and surface water at the side of the house. He kept us informed at all times and is very knowledgeable all things drainage.

A length of low garden wall, iron railings and gate had been demolished by vehicle impact – a fairly small job but one with quite a few separate stages in the work. Ravenswood provided my first quote. The usual machinations of the insurance company’s surveyor then induced a delay of two months to obtain other quotes, of which Ravenswood turned out to be the best. By this time Ravenswood’s job schedule was tight but William Ross agreed to do his best to fit me in during the next few weeks.
Given this background, the service I received from William and his blacksmith was excellent. William did exactly what he promised – with many short visits to take the job forward stage by stage. He was a pleasure to deal with and he clearly wanted the work to be done to a high standard – for instance in discussions of details of how the wall and railings were going to be reconstructed. I am very happy with the finished job and with the tidiness and clean-up after each stage of the work. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ravenswood on the basis of this experience.

We have been happy to give 5 stars to good companies for very good work in the past, but the work of Ravenswood on re-laying our patio and sorting out all the drainage problems in our garden certainly deserves 7 stars.

Never has a company done work for us that shows such knowledge and skill, such thought about aesthetic matters, such attention to every detail, such dedication to solve every small obstacle that was discovered well after the original quotation, and producing such an immaculate final product in every way. In addition, the work was done at a very competitive price. This company is absolutely outstanding in matters of drainage (including finding and exploiting the original drainage drawings dating from 1910). It is also outstanding in the laying of the stone patio 10m x 5m with all its interesting extremities of small garden beds, stone walls and lawn, each treated with the utmost care, aesthetic judgement and precision.

Ravenswood took out a rotten decking area and replaced it with a stone patio, putting in proper foundations and drainage, and also replaced a fence and path. We're really pleased with the work. They took a lot of time to make sure we were happy with the materials and finishes, answered all our questions, and showed great attention to detail.

William investigated a drainage problem affecting our garage and access to it, which involved moving a manhole and replacing the pathway and the patio which had been covering the manhole. In spite of very unhelpful weather he and Davy did a fantastic job, and kept us informed at every stage. The finished patio and pathway are a great enhancement to the garden. Highly recommended.

Excellent communication before, during and after the building works. Work started and finished in the declared timeframe which was always weather dependant. We had a wall built at the foot of our garden between us and our neighbour. The work was carried out with precision to an extremely high standard and on time. They always arrived exactly on time and if had to be delayed for any reason (which was never more than a couple of hours) texted to keep us updated. William and Dave were delightful, punctual, polite, informative, hard-working and always tidied up afterwards, even hosing down the pavement each day. We were very impressed and would recommend them very highly. Thanks guys!

We needed to completely reform the pathways and garden to the front of the house. This was a complicated refurbishment. Ravenswood did an excellent job working with us helping and advising on the redesign and job plan. They then worked really well keeping within budget and to the timescales we agreed. The work was finished to a high quality standard. A super company to deal with.

Excellent workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism on the drainage works we needed to have done. William made the whole job effortless and stress free and that's saying something for someone who is extremely anxious about any kind of work inside/outside the house. The site was also left immaculate at the end of each day and at the end of the job. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ravenswood - in fact we already have. Rotten decking step replaced with stone slabs. William took great care to get the dimensions and the stone right to match the building. Great attention to detail, and reliable.

William built a base for a greenhouse for me. Despite being very busy, he managed to fit it in along other and larger jobs. Communication was good and prompt all the way through and the end result is faultless. Would highly recommend this company.

We had work on the driveway including drainage. I would not hesitate to recommend Ravenswood Building Services Ltd , they were professional, work was of a high standard and they were very friendly and accommodating.

Work to rear of house included complete strip, reduced levels, retaining wall & step access, surface water drainage (including repairs to existing before tie-in), slabbed patio areas and retaining neighbouring perimeter ground with sleepers.
Work to side of house included complete strip to levels, surface water drainage (for neighbours run-off !!) and hardstanding with slabbed path.
Works to front included complete strip, formation of paved area and tie-in with existing driveway which included altering a MH finished level.

William visited several times to view, discuss and make recommendations, budget, quote and plan the works. The works were not 100% defined at the start, but William come up with solutions on the job (and off it !!) always keeping me advised and agreeing in advance.

William will not cut corners or compromise the quality of work carried out, so if you want a cheap job of questionable quality then he is not your man (and he wouldn't do the work anyway).

Drainage replacement work due to previous poor repair by another company.
William explained the work required in a way I could understand, kept me informed, began and completed the work ahead of schedule, carried out very professional job, totally satisfied.

William installed a drain in an area of patio which was prone to flooding. He did an excellent job and was careful to minimise mess. Although the drain hasn’t been tested yet I’m confident that it’ll be a big improvement and will make it much easier for me to keep the area clean.
William responded quickly to my initial enquiry and kept in touch in the run up to the work being done. All in all, I’m very happy with the job and would recommend his company.

Renovating a garden fence. Rotten posts were dug out and replaced. We wanted to lower the fence so large trellis panels cut down and reused. William was very prompt to respond to the enquiry, provided a clear quotation and arrived on schedule for the job. He came up with good ideas for dealing with things like the slope and making use of the old material.
He and his assistant arrived at 8.30 every morning and worked steadily despite the cold wet weather. They did a neat job and were careful not to damage the plants in the garden.
