I had 2 windows where the double-glazing units had failed (condensation between the panels). JW Glazing replaced the double-glazing units in the existing window frames. They did an excellent job from start to finish. A polite, professional team - the people on the phone, the man who came to measure for the quote and the installers.
They came when they said they would, did what they said they would and left no mess. Impressive. Great job.

I had several windows in my house with badly rotted frames that needed replaced. J. W. Glazing & Joinery replied to my initial email within about a day and I was able to arrange an inspection within about a week. They recommended replacing my windows with PVC frames resistant to rot, which I'm very happy with.

The installation process was quick and about as convenient as you could expect for a relatively major home improvement like this. They were able to get the bulk of the work done within a day (three large windows with three panes each), and then another morning's worth of work to finish one smaller window. The longest part of the entire process was the manufacturing lead time on the actual windows themselves, which took about five weeks.

I was replacing all the windows in my flat an Edinburgh tenement. White PVC Double glazing was already there being replaced with new white PVC double glazing. Altogether there were 6 windows to do, 3 in a bay window arrangement, 2 bathroom ones with privacy glass, and 1 in the bedroom. I am on the third floor, and they were able to do this from inside the building without needing to put up scaffolding. The cost for this work was just slightly below £5000, which was almost the same as one of the other quotes I got, and £1000 lower than the third quote I got (organised around November 2023)

Of the three traders I asked for quotes this was the only one who came out in person to do the quote. The other two refused to come out to quote and wanted me to take rough measurements for them to use, and would not measure, visit or discuss options themselves unless I confirmed I was going with them (despite those two also being recommended on which).

I went ahead with J W Glazing and it's been a straight forward process. The two people who came to do the quote for were helpful and friendly told me about the options I had, and answered all my questions. I was reassured they could also look at the space, as the windows in the bathroom were hard to access with the bath in front of one and the loo in front of the other as well as an awkward sloped roof. They let me know the timescale for getting the work done. Windows aren't a standard size so are made to order which was expected to take 8-12 weeks. Once I confirmed I was going ahead with then they put the order in and were they able to update me with a more exact time scale of when they were expected to be ready.

Once the windows had arrived back with them they called to arrange a time for the work, and were able to come to install them about a week and a half later.

Three guys came to install them and remove the old ones and they were pleasant and congenial while they were working. The new ones went in without trouble and I'm happy with how they came out. They also cleaned up well afterwards and as they were going along, and cleaned the windows when they finished, so they were sparkling. Between the old ones being a bit damaged and quite dirty it's a bit like I've put glasses on when I look out the window at the moment with how clean and clear they are.

They've also been easy to contact all the way though, which has made things much easier. Getting the windows put in with J W Glazing has definitely been one of the smoother sailing trades experiences I've had. I've not had problems to bring up so I don't know how well they deal with that or not, but I am happy with the work they did for me.

Replacement double glazing to windows , fitted with acoustic glass. Men worked during worst weather imaginable and completed the job in couple of days. Very respectful of our house covering up floor coverings and tidying up and hoovering at the end of the day.
This company was recommended to me by a neighbour who had had similar work done, and I would be happy to recommend in turn.

Got in a couple of patio doors. Great quality work. We could tell the new doors were better than the old ones, they let in no draft and reduced outside noise noticeably. Installers were professional and friendly. Would recommend.

New Windows and doors done throughout the house to a very high standard and completed within timescales given before work started.

Fast response to our enquiry. They listened to our request and were very constructive in designing the new window. The installation was speedy and professional. Great service from a great team.

Replaced 2 large windows and repanelled the bay round one of the windows. This turned out to be a bigger job than expected but they completed it on time and we were delighted with the finished result. It all looks great now and they put everything back and left the place clean and tidy. Good communication throughout. I would highly recommend them.

JW Glazing & Joinery replaced two windows. I had been broken into and one of them was boarded up and I wanted the matching one to be replaced. I sent an email very early Friday morning and by 11.30 the same day, the guys were here with great suggestions for the best way to make my house safe. A different company came out and said it could be done by the spring if I ordered them that day. Six weeks after ordering them my new windows are in. They are absolutely fantastic. What a find for us this company was we had a bad experience with a rouge company from Glasgow after we got new door and windows fitted Aug 2020.
We were never happy with the door that was fitted and we had whistling noises coming from windows.
After speaking to Craig from J W, he gave us good options which no other firm did.
Now we have a solid door and problems with windows sorted at a price we were very happy with.

This is the second job JW Glazing have carried out on my property, having installed new windows just after I moved in.

The guys were great, despite delays due to lockdown they kept in touch and got the job done as soon as they were allowed.

10 Windows in total replaced with UPVC. 7.5k 6x Sash 4x tilt and turn. Frames/sills all made good after fitting, caulked, sealed and even a touch of primer to cover exposed edges on the new sill.

Replacement of double glazed windows.

I'm very pleased with the windows, and noticed the difference straight away with less noise and no draughts.

I organised the work before lockdown which meant fitting couldn't start as planned. Craig stayed in touch to ensure I was aware the work would still go ahead.

I felt the price was fair for the work carried out and chose a mixture of acoustic glass for bedrooms and standard double glazed units for a living room. The acoustic glass does seem to make a noticeable difference.

In any case, the windows are much better fitted than my last ones. The fitters turned up when they said they would, the work was completed on schedule and the price I agreed stayed the same.

I would certainly recommend JW Glazing.
