Replacement of old Back Boiler with a new Combi Boiler, replacement of a radiator ,installation of 2 new radiators and replacement of coals on gas fire.
Citywide Gas Services work was excellent, it involved fitting the new boiler in a totally different location and installation of 2 radiators in our conservatory which was not a straightforward job due to the pipework involved. John and his workmate Neil were always on time, the work was done to a very high standard and to the estimated timescales. They covered all our carpets and cleaned up fully after completion of the work . I could not fault this company and would have no hesitation in using them again for any future work.

Fantastic company I have a few flats that I need looking after with boiler breakdowns I need someone I can trust Citywide Gas have never let me down there is not a boiler John can’t fix we will always use this company. I have recommended them to everyone I know

Amazing 10/10 service from John and Neil. We had our old backroom sinks and boilers ripped out and re-plumbed with a new hot water boiler servicing them both. Everything was spot on, well within budget and even finished earlier than planned.

I am so grateful to Citywide Gas Services for coming out to my flat during these strange Covid-19 times. I was left with no hot water or heating with a 10 week old baby in the house after the emergency gas people capped my meter and left us like that. Citywide understood the seriousness and came out to me within two hours. It means so much that they were happy to do a job, putting their own safety aside, at a time most others help others had stopped working.

Two months after getting my boiler serviced it packed in. My usual Engineer failed to turn up and would not respond to calls / texts the following morning. I found John through a google search and he attended promptly that evening. John found the spark generator needed replaced and promptly ordered the part and fixed my issue a day or two later and did try though his own contacts to get one sooner. John is a professional and with a friendly manner. Would highly recommend John again.

After being let down by my boiler care company and left without heating for over a week, John arrived promptly, spotted the problem, replaced the hot water cylinder and got my system up and running again.

Responded promptly to a situation where the SSE had cut off the gas in a rented flat, leaving the tenants without heating or hot water. He identified the source of the leak and dealt with it in a professional and friendly manner.

John recently installed a new boiler for me after discussing and recommending a couple that would be suitable for my needs and property. The installation went smoothly, on time and in budget. John and Chris patiently answered my many questions, nothing was too much trouble. He was also great at communicating with me before the job, keeping me up to date with arrival times, costs etc.

I moved into my flat 5 weeks ago and have had problem after problem with my boiler, the main thing being getting no hot water through my shower and taps. I have had multiple people out to look at it (one who charged me £96 purely to stand in my flat for 10 minutes and not even touch the boiler other than switching a few buttons), until it got to the point I thought it was going to need completely replaced.

I found Citywide Gas on trusted trader - I was originally calling to ask for someone to come out and give me a quote for a new boiler. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was so lovely and kind, and he assured me they would get it sorted for me one way or another (I was on the brink of tears at this point ????). John came up that night and instead of throwing quotes at me, he looked at the boiler and took the time to try and figure out the issue.

Before I knew it, I had hot water running from my shower for the first time in 5 weeks! He also found some parts which needed replaced which he has kept me in the loop about as they have needed to be ordered in and will be getting fitted next week.

I am SO happy I found John/Citywide Gas, they have been nothing but amazing from the start and have made me feel completely at ease.

It’s easy to feel like you can get taken advantage of when it comes to getting quotes for certain things, which is definitely something I’ve noticed since I’ve moved in on my own and had different trades people coming in. Replaced my boiler and checked,maintained and adjusted my radiators.
The service was excellent - out following day from initial call to talk through and give estimate. Took just one day to complete and cleaned up the mess before leaving.
My husband is unwell and John explained everything they were doing to both of us to ensure there was few disruptions to his care and he was not left out of decisions.
I would use them again and would recommend them.

John was very responsive when I contacted him initially to repair some radiator valves. When he came he noticed a problem with our boiler extraction and organised replacement parts very promptly. He even came to finish the job in the evening rather than leave us another night without being able to turn on the boiler which was very impressive. He was very courteous and well mannered as well! John from Citywide Gas Services provided a gas safety check for a new property we moved into on short notice, and he was a pleasure to deal with: Good communication, on-time, courteous and he thoroughly explained the entire process, along with some good tips.

I had gas central heating installed and a new boiler and I can highly recommend John, who was very professional and efficient, with the minimum of upheaval. From beginning to end, John worked hard to get the work finished as soon as possible, and also explained to me everything that he was doing and answered any questions in a
friendly manner, which put my mind at ease. Definitely the best in every way.

John replaced a very old boiler and so far the boiler which we have now had for over two years has been problem free. They installed it expertly and answered all my questions happily explaining how the boiler works. Left the room very tidy when finished and took away all the old boiler too. Woke up on the Sunday before Christmas to find our boiler wasn't working. Disaster! However, having looked at the reviews for John at Citywide Gas Service, I rang him up straightaway. He said he could come out that afternoon which was perfect. John phoned, as promised, before he arrived to let us know he was coming. When he arrived he got straight on with the job, cleared the blockage and checked the boiler was working without leaks. He was an excellent workman and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Delighted to use and recommend these guys, who came out on a Saturday at short notice when most others were saying they were tied up til New Year. Our Baxi combi boiler was not giving hot water and then made a horrid grating moose and the temp reading flying up to over 90 and back down as it tried to fire up. I assumed the pump had failed and fully expected a hefty bill, but they thought this was a one-off caused by a dip in pressure, as once set to the right pressure, it worked fine. They then checked all the combustion levels, essentially giving it a service and were happy with what seemed like a token cash payment, we’ll under what I would expect to pay for a weekend call out fee. Both guys who showed up were friendly, informative and refreshingly honest. Highly recommended!

Citywide have done several jobs for us since we moved into our house as well as coming out at very short notice when we had an emergency. On every occasion, the work has been of the highest standard, the advice offered accurate and the charges very reasonable. We have found John and his colleagues to be friendly and professional on every occasion. Very highly recommended.

I phoned Citywide because after trying to reset my boiler four times it kept cutting out. I called citywide and they came out the following day. I didn’t realise that my boiler was still in warranty but Citywide did after asking me when it was fitted and they phoned Worcester with my details and didn’t charge me a penny. It would have been very easy for Citywide to investigate the problem and solve it themselves and take my money but they didn’t . As it happened, the problem was a blocked filter which Worcester found and cleared free of charge under warranty. What price a knowledgeable tradesman with integrity. Invaluable.

TLDR: Simply the best gas engineer I've ever come across.

John came at short notice to check on my 5 year old Worcester-Bosch compact combi boiler, which was dripping water whenever it was switched on. He was very busy that day but kept me updated on his arrival time. He quickly diagnosed two possible problems with the boiler, one of which (heat exchanger) would have been extremely expensive to fix. He then suggested that the boiler should still be under warranty but, a check on the website came up negative - turns out that the previous owners never bothered to register it. He then suggested we should call Worcester-Bosch while he was there so he could speak to them himself and waited patiently for 25(!) mins on hold. After speaking with them, Worcester-Bosch registered my boiler, which had 1(!) month left on it's warranty and arranged for one of their engineers to come round and fix it for free. Despite having clearly had a very long day, John was friendly and professional throughout and kindly removed his shoes at the front door to protect our newly cleaned carpets. I offered to pay him (the initial callout and diagnosis visit was free) but he said no so, the price of his time and excellent advice - which saved me a lot of money - was a cup of coffee and an apple. He's the best gas engineer I've ever come across, my mum and I were both very impressed by his competency, professionalism and attitude and I cannot recommend him enough.

John arrived on time and got straight down to finding out the problem. Checked the boiler over and talked me through the readings and honestly recommended that it didnt need any service. Refreshingly honest. Fault was in the timer so John went straight away and picked up replacement part and fitted it within 45 mins from start to finish. The worry with some tradesmen is the messing about and charging work that isnt necessary. John from Citywide is the exact opposite and I would highly recommend him for anything you need done.

I have used Citiwide Gas Services for a number of years, they are reliable trustworthy firm, the engineers always being pleasant and professional. Quality service that comes with a quality price. Highly recommended.

I contacted citywide gas services due to the 5 star reviews on trust a trader, if there was 6 stars I would give these guys that!

Over the last year or so we have had trouble with our boiler system not being in full working order, call outs to insurance boiler cover never really sorted the issue, pump replaced but house still never as warm as it should be, the previous engineers never seemed to get to the route of the problem and insisted the system be power flushed (it seems a cop out) John & his team were straightforward in word and actions, talked me through what they thought was wrong with the system and how they were going to go about it to fix it, this was not an easy job to fix with our boiler being as old as the house (30 years) I knew straight away I could trust citywide to get to the bottom of the problem.
The guys worked hard all day and delivered, our house is now hotter than its ever been!!
I would not hesitate to recommend citywide to family & friends and know who to use in future for any heating services.

Great boiler service and review of radiator pipes and controls. They went above and beyond to help fix and advise on other plumbing related issues. Will definitely be using again and highly recommend.

The work entailed installing a new boiler and central heating system as well as installing a new shower room. John is a very enthusiastic individual and keen to ensure at each stage of the work that the customer is happy. I particularly liked the neat and tidy installation of new pipework and radiators compared to the maze of old pipework in property. He also had great recommendations for bathroom fixtures and fittings.

John completed the following work:
1) - Boiler service and replace defective parts.
2) - Installation of new Kitchen in new room including new drainage and water supplies, new gas hob and relocated supplies.
3) - Complete refurbishment of first floor Bathroom including all new fittings.
4) - New Shower Room En-Suite to ground floor bathroom in place of Utility.
5) - Re-locate radiators and service system.
John was courteous, friendly and reliable. He did all of the work above when many Contractors could only do parts of the work. The work was carried out to a high standard. I have no hesitation in recommending John.

The flame failed to ignite in our Ariston boiler just as the weather was getting cold. John from Citywide was able to come the same day, unlike the other gas companies we called. He approached diagnosing the problem methodically, first checking and cleaning the contacts of the ignition electrode before finding the source of the problem - a small blockage in the air inlet pipe. He charged a basic hour of time - which was just over half the call out charge requested by another company - including doing all the safety checks needed for the coming winter. Very impressed by John's manner and approach and delighted to have the boiler working again on the same day - which he told me they always try to do if at all possible. Highly recommended.

We called Citywide Gas Services to fix an issue with our Vaillant EcoTec boiler. John was able to fix our problem within three days. He was friendly and reachable throughout the period. He provided helpful advice for us and tested our boiler for safety and performance after fixing it. Highly professional and would recommend.

Replacement of a 15+ year old boiler with a new Worcester boiler. Some pipes also needed replaced. New radiators were installed and old ones taken away. Extra time and work was taken to pin these cast iron radiators to the walls.

This is the 2nd time I have used John and I am glad that I have used his services again. He is very honest and professional with his work. Thanks once again!

John came out to help me after 10pm in an emergency when my water tank burst. He was very helpful and made sure that the leak (flood!) had stopped before leaving that night. He has replaced the tank and had my water and heating back within a couple of days. I would highly recommend him

Our boiler developed a problem over the Christmas break that left us without hot water or heating. Citywide Gas came out quickly, gave us a detailed assessment of the problem and made sure it was then fixed and in full working order (including ringing up the boiler manufacturers directly). I decided to get the part and change it over. Overall, I was very happy with the service that he provided and was easy to communicate with. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Had to call out citywide gas to fix an issue with my bedroom radiator. Came out quickly and great service. Very professional and would highly recommend.

I asked John , who came recommended to look at my leaking boiler .
He came out later at night and examined the work needing done .
Off his own back he discovered part of my boiler was under warrantee and as a result all of the work was undertaken by Worcester Bosch . He did not charge me and made nothing out of his good will .
I have never met such a helpful and honest plumber - would look nowhere else in future .
