No limit on raising the standard

Limitless Heating Ltd is a Trading Standards vetted East Lothian Trusted Trader, providing heating and plumbing services to homeowners across Midlothian, East Lothian and Edinburgh. From our base in Dalkeith, our team of twelve covers boiler installation, servicing and repairs, central heating, power flushing and bathrooms.

The company was established in 2017. Our aim from the start was a simple one: to build a dependable local heating and plumbing business that did the basics properly. Turn up when promised, communicate clearly, carry out good quality work, and stay accountable long after the job is finished. The business grew steadily through recommendations, repeat customers and a strong local reputation.

At the beginning of 2025 we began trading as Limitless Heating, with the registered company name becoming Limitless Heating Ltd in March 2026. The name reflects the standard we are aiming for, and our belief that there should be no limit to how much a trade business can improve its service, its systems and its customer experience.

Growing without losing the plot

We now have a team of around twelve people, including experienced heating engineers, apprentices and office support. We are proud of that growth, but growth for its own sake has never been the objective. The priority is to grow in a controlled way while keeping our standards consistent.

Why trust matters in our trade

Trust is one of the biggest barriers in our industry. A homeowner is often spending a significant amount of money and inviting people into their home, yet it can be difficult to judge the quality or reliability of a company before the work has even started.

We joined East Lothian Trusted Trader because the scheme gives customers independent reassurance that we have been properly vetted and are accountable. The fact that it is backed by Trading Standards and supported by Police Scotland carries far more weight than a business simply making claims about itself. Generating enquiries was part of the attraction, but the main reason was to give potential customers another credible way to check exactly who they were dealing with.

The checks behind the badge

The vetting process was straightforward, although appropriately thorough. There is administration involved, but that is exactly what gives the scheme its value. If every business could display the badge without meaningful checks, it would not offer customers much reassurance at all. We found the requirements clear and the process proportionate for a scheme that carries the backing of Trading Standards.

Reassurance before we set foot in the door

Membership has met our expectations, particularly as a source of reassurance. Our enquiries come from a mixture of recommendations, online search, advertising and repeat business, so it would be difficult to attribute every accepted quotation to one single source. What we do know is that customers regularly check reviews, accreditations and memberships before they make a decision.

Trusted Trader helps confirm that we are an established, accountable local company. On our East Lothian Trusted Trader profile we hold a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 320 verified customer reviews. It supports trust before we have even attended the first survey, and it can give a customer that extra confidence when they are comparing quotations side by side.

“Trusted Trader gives customers independent reassurance before we ever set foot in their home.”

Making the most of membership

We promote our Trusted Trader status through our website and across our digital presence, alongside credentials such as our Gas Safe registration and Worcester Bosch accreditation, and we point customers towards our independent reviews when they are checking us out. There is always more we can do to make the membership visible across our documents, our vehicles and our marketing, and taking part in this case study is part of making better use of the scheme.

Our direct contact with the Trusted Trader team has been fairly limited, which is generally a good sign, but every interaction has been straightforward, helpful and professional. It is reassuring to know there is an independent team and a fair process available should a complaint or review issue ever need support. That accountability should work for the customer and the trader alike.

The team behind the name

What we are most proud of is the team and the reputation they have built with customers across Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are Gas Safe registered, a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer, and committed to bringing apprentices through the industry. Those credentials matter, but they only mean something when they are backed up by good communication, tidy work, reliable attendance and proper aftercare.

Our aim is to make Limitless Heating one of the most trusted and best organised heating companies in the area. We want to keep investing in our people, improving the customer journey and growing without ever losing the personal accountability of a local business. What drives us is simple: do what we say we will do, look after the customer, and keep raising the standard.
