If you’re looking for someone to help you with knotty computer problems, then look no further than Eildon It Training & Consulting based in Haddington, in the person of Alison Lowe. Alison was recommended to me and I, in turn, can’t recommend her highly enough. She is competent and professional. Flexibility is the hallmark of her one to one IT sessions. It’s the client who sets the agenda and the pace. One can even contact her between sessions for advice, if you feel you need to and she also sends useful notes after each session. Conducted in her pleasant Haddington office, the session begins with a tea or coffee! The hour passes all too quickly, one learns a lot and it’s fun.

I'd been working on a rather elderly desktop PC that I'd had for many years. It was large and cumbersome and didn't give out the right impression to fit the description of my occupation as the owner of a small business offering professional editing and proofreading services. Someone I went to see about marketing gently pointed this out to me and suggested I get myself a new up-to-date laptop.
I did that and quickly realised that I didn't know how to use this much more modern 'machine' properly. I asked the person who had sold it to me if he knew of anyone who might help me with getting to grips with it and he handed me a card which, thank goodness, quickly led me to Eildon IT Training and its owner and tutor, Alison Low. I quickly discovered I had unearthed gold.
On the phone and later at our first meeting, Alison swiftly put me at my ease and explained what she did and I suddenly realised that she was exactly the right person to help me get to grips with my new laptop.
Her explanations of how to master this new device were clear and instantly comprehensible and her friendly manner and a sense of humour very like my own helped me to feel relaxed. We were both cat lovers and, it turned out, we had both reached that age when friends and family were starting to hint that perhaps the time had come to consider giving up driving. I had found that really depressing but Alison's reassurance that it was still possible to live a good life without a car helped me tremendously.
Her guidance on the technical aspects of my new device were backed up with notes sent to me after each lesson so that I could refresh my memory at my own pace.
I was pleased to find that she offered a discounted price for taking a batch of a certain number of lessons so that the price for her services was sensible and affordable. We agreed a date for each succeeding lesson at the end of each current one so that we were both clear as to when we would meet up again and that none of these dates interfered with our own personal timetables or clashed with the constant programme of dental, hairdressing or doctors' appointments which we all have to juggle with.
I found that, with Alison's help, I learned quickly and looked forward to each meeting to see what new things I would learn.
I can certainly say that being given Alison's card was a definite stroke of luck for me. Not only did it mean that I could use my new device, it also helped to boost my confidence and to increase the growing number of clients my business was able to help.

Alison from Eildon Training offered the Lammermuir Larder bespoke computer training as part of our volunteers and staff personal development.
Not only was Alison hugely knowledgeable, she was patient and provided each of us with notes from our individual training.
She is also very supportive of the work the larder does .

I have found Eildon Training to be efficient and reliable in solving my Computer problems. The company's fees are reasonable and as a person who is definitely no "geek" I find Alison's approach very user friendly. I simply turn up with my computer and my list of passwords, explain to her the problem that I am encountering and she swiftly gets to work, solves the problem and tells me all I need to know to manage the situation in the future. I unequivocally recommend her to you.

Alison is a gem. From the first time I met her she made me feel at ease. I had 4 tutorials with her and enjoyed every one of them. I liked that fact that the notes on each tutorial were specifically for me. I feel more confident now at being able to use my Kindle for a variety of tasks, not just reading books. I like that Alison has an aftercare service so you can contact her any time if you need some advice.

Alison was supportive and professional. The consultation was followed up with an email summary regarding the advice she had offered me. The office space is outstanding, and the cup of tea during the support session was greatly appreciated. I will most definitely return for further sessions in the future. Thank you Alison.
