Michael McQueen was contacted to build a pondless stream in the garden space on my new build site. I wanted to start with the stream because access for materials (big boulders) after the house is built will be difficult. I had seen his work on FB and really liked it.
After receiving the quote and talking to him on site I decided to go ahead, recognising that for this kind of design project there is a large element of trust needed. Having seen examples of Michael's creativity on other projects I was pretty convinced he was the right person. His projects grow into the site as they are being built, so it is difficult to give a precise picture of the end result and that is where the trust element comes in.
Weather was pretty bad at the beginning of the year so there were some delays but once the stream build started it was wonderful to watch! The end result is amazing!! Michael's aim is to make his work look like it has always been there and he achieved that and more! (see photos)
I would not hesitate to recommend McQueen Landscapes for any landscaped water feature you require. His work here definitely exceeded my expectations and I have already asked him to return to work on other areas of the garden once the house build is completed. I only wish that this site allowed video downloads instead of photos because they show the full extent of the finished work!

I think Michael ought to change his job description title from pond landscaper to pond landscaping artist. To transform what is basically a hole in the ground and a pile of stones into something both beautiful and functional is a true talent. I had a small wildlife pond, totally overgrown, and wanted a larger working natural feature. As someone who is very hands-on in my garden I felt confident in Michael's vision and ability to create this. I was not disappointed! Michael and his wonderful team had the back-breaking skill of producing a luxury 5-star pad for next year's frogs, and I have a delightful space in my garden to enjoy. Thank you all.

We were at a loss as to what we wanted as a remodelling of our back garden, not being garden designers ourselves. When Michael first arrived to quote for a redesign, we gave him free rein to make suggestions and he 'got' the space instantly. We had only thought of a very modest water feature, but Michael saw the potential of the site and incorporated a pondless waterfall as the centre piece of a proposed design. It is now here and it's magnificent. It frames the new patio and lawn and the choice of stone brings everything together perfectly. It took a wee while to get started on the project as Mike and the team are so busy, but it was worth the wait. Mike's team are great guys and despite the copious digging and earth moving were incredibly tidy throughout. We can't wait for summer to roll round and sit by the new waterfall and enjoy the sounds of the cascading stream. Can't recommended McQueen Landscapes enough. Know their stuff and deliver a first class result.

Michael and Ben carried out a full upgrade to an existing water feature and we are very pleased with the result. Michael is very passionate about his work and will not let you down. He comes when he says he will and does what he says he will do. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Michael transformed an unusable grassy slope into a beautiful waterfall. The finished result exceeded our expectations. We were kept well informed of the progress and working arrangements. Both Michael and Ben were very passionate and enthusiastic about the job.

If you're spending a lot of money on something you want it done to a high standard with no hidden extras. We had our back garden completely transformed to a very high standard by Michael and his team who we would describe as:-

We are delighted by the water feature(s) that we have had installed. Michael was extremely professional and hard working throughout the build and we are delighted with the finished feature. Michael and his team (Michael and Nathan) have completed the work to our garden today. We were getting two circular patios laid, borders stone edged and slate chippings added to borders. The work and craftsmanship from them is absolutely outstanding. We are so pleased with the whole look and how it has brought our garden together. From the first meeting with Michael we felt completely at ease. His knowledge of products, vision, dedication, passion and honesty are second to none. The team were all so easy to get on with and were extremely hardworking. Their attention to detail is exceptional and the way they tidied up after themselves was a breath of fresh air. They also very kindly offered to power wash our slippy decking and built up a wooden garden arbour which I had purchased. Had Michael and his team landscape back garden in a new build and loved the finished product! We were kept updated throughout and he was happy to accommodate any additional requests where possible.

I had a complete renovation of my front garden and its amazing , there is nothing I don't like and Michael and his men left the site spotless not only my driveway but my neighbours too, first class job.

The back garden was cleared and landscaped to create an easy to maintain but visually pleasing space with patio, paved access to outbuildings, and side entrance all set out with slabs and sleepers.

McQueen landscapes were very helpful in discussing my options and my budget at the planning stage, coming up with ideas which I hadn't thought about, but which made the most of the space and my money!

The access to my back garden is problematic but Michael found a solution that worked for me and my neighbours.

Once the plan was agreed Michael and his team arrived promptly every day and worked steadily until the job was completed.

Michael was very easy to communicate with and was always available to discuss any queries we had. The price breakdown was very clear and easy to understand and there was no hidden costs. We run a fencing business in the civil sector and Macqueen Landscapes Ltd now take on specialised contracts for us that we are unable to do ourselves. Michael always meets his targets with regard to timing, cost and standard of work!

Great communication throughout. Clear honest approach and worked with us to get the best from our initial thoughts. Work done to a great standard and garden left in immaculate shape.

We had our side garden which was a large waste of space done. It was never used Michael and his team have transformed this into a beautiful relaxing spot where we can now sit on our raised stone patio with lovely alpines inserted into the wall. The feature overlooks the River Forth.They also cut down old dead trees, covered the rest of the garden with lovely chips which are the colour of sand so its a bit like a having the beach in the garden :-) Communication from start to finish was absolutely superb I've never met anyone so passionate about their work these guys were a joy to have work done by, even when the weather was awful they still gave us a big smile and they were so polite. I have already recommended them to friends & family.

We had a complete makeover of our back garden. All paving and turf was removed, the garden flattened (it was on a fairly steep slope) and an area for bespoke planting created around 12 inches below the main garden at the foot of the garden. Steps were also created to reach the bottom of the garden. An Increased patio area and paving through the middle of the garden was also created. Turf was replaced with artificial grass and surrounded by charcoal brick/stone to give a nice feature. Paving was replaced by Indian sandstone which is stunning. Stone chips were replaced around existing paving from back garden gate and same chips were used st the bottom of the garden and as a border at the side of the artificial turf. The fence and gate was also painted.

Michael and his team did a wonderful job in very challenging conditions as during the works “the beast from the east” struck which meant works had to be curtailed. All works were carried out in a timely and professional manner much to our great delight.

We’re thrilled with our new garden and would recommend McQueen landscapes to anyone.

McQueen Landscapes carried out extensive landscaping to our rear garden, lifting worn turf and an existing slabbed area.
We did have to wait some time from initial enquires to having the work carried out; but we feel the wait was well worth it.
Mikey and his team endured some very horrible weather during our project, but nothing was too much trouble; bringing both ideas and suggestions along the way, as we needed a low maintenance and dog friendly environment that wasn’t just a concrete jungle, and bringing other visual enhancements along with a pond-less water feature.
Mikey and his team are very hardworking and trustworthy, and are highly recommend given our experiences with them.
