Painting and decorating is all I have ever done. I have been in the industry for more than forty years now, and I have been running my own business here in Kirkcaldy for the last twenty three. There are not many corners of Fife I have not worked in over that time, from full house repaints to wallpaper hanging, coving and exterior work.

You will not find me on Facebook and I have never bothered with a website. My business has always been built on two things: word of mouth and the standard of the finished job. A lot of my work comes from repeat customers who have me back room after room, year after year, and from the people they recommend me to.

After four decades you would think there was nothing left to surprise you, but this trade always finds a way. The oddest request I have ever had? I was once asked to wallpaper a plastic cistern. I have papered most things in my time, but that one sticks in the memory.
