Business Information
We offer impartial and expert building surveying services for both residential and commercial clients. Utilising traditional inspection methods alongside advanced drone technology, we conduct Drone Surveys, Bespoke Building Surveys, Masonry Surveys, and RICS Home Surveys.
Our drones provide a cost-effective and efficient alternative to conventional inspection methods like scaffolding and cherry pickers, allowing visual inspection of hard-to-reach areas and delivering high-resolution images and videos for accurate condition assessments of masonry, roofs, chimneys, and rainwater systems.
We can safely and quickly inspect city centre tenements including parts of the building that are normally inaccessible, producing a condition report that identifies problem areas and recommends options for repairs and maintenance.
Our surveys can be tailored to your needs, including features such as traffic light condition ratings, annotated photographs, sketches, and roof layouts. We offer everything from focused roof inspections to comprehensive building surveys. With over 35 years of experience in the built heritage sector, we bring extensive knowledge of permeable materials like stone and lime mortars to our work.
We also carry out RICS Home Surveys Level 2 and Level 3, using a standardised template with traffic light ratings to indicate the condition of various building elements. These surveys, popular among home buyers, offer a general health check of the property.
All surveys are conducted by an Associate Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with specialised qualifications in Conservation of Masonry and Energy Efficiency for Older & Traditional Buildings. Our drone surveys are carried out by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) registered pilots who are qualified to GVC standard and trained to operate under our Operational Authorisation issued by the CAA.

I had an independent survey of my roof carried out following some very poor quality work from a roofing company leaving my roof in a worse state than it was originally in.
Stoneworks were excellent and professional. The turnaround between surveying my roof and sending the detailed report was very quick. The use of the drone saved time and money sorting out scaffolding or a cherry picker.

David flew the drone over the roof we asked him to investigate as a potential purchase! He gave a detailed report & so many high quality footage pictures totally amazing I was so impressed, David kept me updated straight away with the outcome & so grateful for the in depth information, I would highly recommend this company for further investigations on roofs walls etc! Fabulous surveyors professional & so detailed with all relevant reports.

Good communication throughout, able to arrange a report promptly. The survey itself was thorough and lasted over 5 hours. The report that was provided contained detailed but easy to understand reccomendations. Would reccomend.

Tracing rainwater leak from flat roof /and/or adjacent stoneworks to kitchen ceiling below. Detailed technical report produced with supporting photographs, diagrams and text, all very good quality. Recommendations made for possible scope of contract work to put out for masonry and flat roof repairs.

Not knowing who to ask, I found David via Google and am glad that I did.
He was helpful on the phone first explaining what he could and couldn’t do and shuffling to do it quickly for me.
His quote was transparent and reasonable so I engaged him. He provided me with a professional written survey with extensive photos and both short and long term actions.
I am very pleased with his survey and will definitely use him again if I need similar surveys.

We wished to have a roof survey undertaken in connection with a potential tenement flat purchase. David was able to undertake the survey at very short notice, using drone photography. His report followed very quickly, and he provided a link to the extensive set of photographs taken during the survey. His report was very clear, and he was extremely responsive and helpful in responding to our follow up queries. We would not hesitate to use Stoneworks again.

I am the owner of a property in a small block which consists in total of 12 flats, and Stoneworks have just completed a building survey for us. We require a roof repair and we were being given vastly differing costings so decided to have a building survey done before proceeding with any work.
David's report is extremely comprehensive and will allow all owners to proceed with confidence on any necessary work requiring done on the building. David was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for either him or Mitchell. There were no delays in replying to any of our emails nor did we feel we were taking up too much of their time. Also the cost for the survey was very reasonable and compared favourably with other quotes we received.
Having spoken to the other owners we would all be happy to use Stoneworks again for any of our individual properties.

I asked Stoneworks to survey the rear elevation of my flat to produce drawings for submitting an application for Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission.
David visited in less than a week and sent his drawings less than a week later.
I was happy with the survey as he advised me and we discussed various options.
The computer drawings were better than I could have produced by hand.

We had a multi home building surveyed by David. We needed alot of roof work done in particular and the quality of the pictures he took to assess the building were amazing and thorough, the fact he used a drone to get photos of areas that were tricky to access gave us massive confidence in his survey! David's report was very in depth so i would highly recommend Stoneworks, we will use them for any future jobs that we need.
