I called at 19:00 regarding a patio door that I was unable to lock. Mark answered promptly, gave me an accurate time he would be able to attend and an accurate quote for the cost. He successfully completed the replacement of the broken lock and the whole experience was extremely professional. House was completely secure by 10pm. He also adjusted a few aspects of the doors alignment which left them functioning better than before.

Highly recommended. Lockstar were in fact recommended to us by another locksmith!
The ancient lockcase in our stairwell door needed replaced. We opted for a DIY approach using a different brand which matched the old one as closely as possible. Though the door was now locking correctly, the latch and thumbturn alignment wasn't quite right. For safety reasons we approached Lockstar to fix this.
We spoke to Mark on the phone who was very patient and knowledgeable. I provided photos of the old and new lockcases and he quoted for two options: one for realignment and one for a new lockcase. We opted for the new lockcase. The prices were very fair.
Lockstar were due to arrive in the afternoon and came just after 5pm. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed for them to still show up at 5pm on a Friday to get the job done! The two locksmiths were polite, professional and happy to answer my questions.
They fitted a new lockcase which required creating a larger mortice in the door. Despite all the woodwork involved, they cleaned up after themselves and left the place tidier than they found it.
They also noted our existing cylinder was worn. While they encouraged us to go down the route of a completely new cylinder and new keys for the best result, they were not pushy at all. They took the time to explain the pros and cons of both that option and my idea of keying-alike.
Really pleased with the service. Friendly honest guys. When the time comes to replace the cylinder and keys - and any other lock work - we'll give Lockstar a shout.

Daughter locked herself out of flat - we researched and saw the great reviews for Lockstar and sent her the detail. Guys were at her flat in 1 hour from the call and got her access in minutes - Charged her just £78 which is vastly different than the £600 charged by another when a friend of heres did this last year.

Managed to lock myself out of my apartment and main door in the New Town during rush hour. No sooner had I called them to find them at my door and had me in both doors in no time. Absolutely fantastic service highly recommend. Best service I have had in Edinburgh ever.

Today I called Lockstar as my elderly Mum's bedroom window wouldn't close and lock properly.
Despite his very heavy schedule he kindly came along and fixed the window and didn't charge us for his time. Completely blown away by his compassion, kindness and speedy service which you rarely find nowadays. Can't thank him enough for helping us out in an emergency. Would highly recommend and most definitely deserves every one of the 5 star reviews.

Top class service from Mark. He had to order the part for our front door. As soon as it arrived he contacted me straight away and was with us within half hour. Door taken off, mechanism fitted and door put back on. Very professional and reasonable price also. Would definitely recommend.

I recently hired Mark from Lockstar to change the locks on my new property, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. From start to finish, he provided a timely and friendly experience. He offered advice on security options, which was really helpful for peace of mind. He proceeded to install everything within a few days (just the time needed for the parts to arrive) and very efficiently. He also took the time to explain how to use the new keys/locks in details and provide useful tips.
The quote was clear and transparent with no hidden fees, and he responded to all my inquiries promptly. While I can't speak to the long-term durability of the locks just yet, I'm really happy with the immediate results and the quality of service provided for a fair price.

Mark did some work on our tenement door and fitted a kickplate. He was courteous and helpful, despite being very busy. The work was done timeously and Mark even came back at 9 pm to finish a job off. He also came back after the main job was finished to fit the kickplate without charging for his labour.
Great service and I will be using Lockstar for any future door and lock jobs which might arise.

Mark came out to change a lock on my cellar door as I had lost the key. But he let me know I didn't need a new lock. He managed to give me a key to fit it so he saved me money by not just doing unnecessary work. Lovely friendly guy. Arrived exactly when he said he would which is a plus as far as I'm concerned. I will Def use Mark again and also happy to recommend him to friends and family.

Mark came within the hour, to fix the lock on my front door. Replaced the parts really quickly, did an excellent job of tidying up the fitting (it was wonky before!). Obviously he takes pride in doing a great job! Price was reasonable too. I'd highly recommend this company.
