BIG thank you to Mark and his company. A replacement door closer for the stair was required and Mark gave excellent advice regarding the best device for the job. Mark and his assistant duly appeared at the agreed time to remove broken closer and fit new one.
He offered to do any "fine tuning" to the device once it was in place. A very professional service at a very competitive price. He's now our go to guy.

Lockstar changed our communal main door-lock in our traditional Edinburgh stair-community. This required coordination through the change over process and providing new keys to a dozen residents.
Lockstar handled everything with exemplary clarity, efficiency and timeliness, and provided excellent value for money.

Replacement of the main door lock to an apartment where the existing lock jammed, was found to be well beyond its lifetime to be repaired and did not meet the latest insurance standards and fire door standards.

Locked myself out of my flat at 9pm and phoned Lockstar to ask for help. Mark attended in 30 mins and got me into the flat with no damage to the door or lock. Top work from a lock magician - it was like watching Tom Cruise in a scene from Mission Impossible.

My bedroom pvc window lock had sheared off completely and it faces south in this weather it is extremely hot. Phoned company and although they were busy Mark came a few hours later and renewed lock. The lock on my door had been forced when I was out - the door had held, but I was worried and wanted to get it shored up. I called Lockstar and they sent someone round within a few hours to fix it. The person who came round was really helpful and knowledgeable. He fitted a new lock for me there and then and when I asked, talked me through further options for making repairs. The cost of the repair came to quite a bit less than I was expecting and the service was excellent. Would definitely use again and will recommend!

Door lock snapped at 7.00pm - no access to the house called and spoke to the owner Mark who attended at the promised time and fitted temp lock whilst new improved one was ordered. He also checked frame of conservatory doors going beyond fixing the lock. There was no pressure to upgrade, etc. Nothing was rushed and costs were more than reasonable.

I phoned with a front door lock problem. Mark made suggestions to try first including using WD40! His suggestion worked and as he said he didn't think it fair to come out and we incur a call out charge for something that I could fix with a bit of advice. Impressed with his attitude and honesty. Mark could not have been more helpful when I ended up unable to get in or out of my front door. He responded quickly to my message and visited soon after, quickly getting the door open and then spending time realigning the locks and the door so that everything now works smoothly and easily for the first time in years! My relative needed new locks on 2 of her external doors. I choose this company as they are members of the Master locksmiths Association which listed local traders. I enquired how we would book to have the work done to be told that they could come the following afternoon. I was told that I would be called the next day to be given a better idea of time. This worked out well. The job was completed promptly and without mess. New locks were demonstrated and we were able to request a number of additional keys to be cut on top of the three keys provided. We were happy with the cost of the service and were pleased with the process from beginning to end. I would happily recommend his company.

Two hours before going out we realized our front door wouldn’t lock. One call to Mark and he came out to secure the door and order the new lock required which arrived the following day. Was let down by another locksmith and a few others said they couldn’t help get in to a small safe. Thankfully Lockstar could and he came out same day too. Despite the safe posing a real challenge and the job taking much longer than expected, we were only charged a minimum fee and he took the old safe away for disposal too. Very friendly and professional, and we’re really grateful for the work done. Would definitely recommend to others.

I was having difficulty opening my front door, the key was sticking in the Yale lock and I was worried that I might be locked out at some point. I emailed Lockstar at lunchtime on a Wednesday, recieved a reply the same afternoon and by that evening I had an appointment for the next day. Mark arrived and after looking at the lock he told me that I did not need a whole Yale lock just the bit that the key goes in, which was cheaper, he could have told me I needed a whole system. Within less than an hour the job was done, Mark tidied up and swept the carpet, a very professional job. I am very pleased with Lockstar and would definitely use them again in the future.

Just had another faultless piece of locksmith work carried out by Mark.
Survey of the job revealed no need for a new mortice lock but identified that internal workings and mechanism needed replaced instead. This type of assessment installs 100% customer trust in the integrity of the work required and carried out.
Would not consider going anywhere else for any locksmith related work.

We need a new lock barrel fitted to the communal stair door as many occupants were finding it difficult to get their keys to turn. Mark fitted this, supplied keys (even put them through each flat's letterbox in an envelope with details of the company), and put up a poster on the front door explaining what had been done. Mark provided an estimate to fit locks on 4 internal doors in a flat. Once the estimate was agreed he turned up on time and fitted the locks in the time he estimated and for slightly less than his estimate. We were unable to open our kitchen door as the handle had broken. Mark visited within an hour, and managed to gain access. After checking other doors, he arranged to return a few days later and replace 3 which were faulty.

The tumblers had gotten stuck on a small document safe I use occasionally. I sent an email to get a quote, and the response was very quick and helpful. I brought the safe into the Dundas street location without an appointment and the staff helped me right away. The safe was open again in less than five minutes. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly throughout.

For a problem with the lock on the door into the stairwell of a block of flats, Mark turned up at the appointment time, identified the work required and quoted the total cost.
