I have used JMS Stonemasons in the past for the sensitive demolition of a dangerous external stair, consolidation of adjoining masonry and other lime pointing work. This was carried out quickly and carefully.
I recently needed a defective ashlar chimney demolished and replacement copes to the skews installed where the chimney had been removed. The skews were complicated, the wall face below not all being on the same line and JMS designed and supplied a very satisfactory solution. Everything was left clean and tidy at the completion of the work.
I will use JMS again if I need any careful work.

JMS did some stonework on our bay windows to a high standard. He was also very flexible - when the scaffolding was up I discovered some urgent roof work. This involved JMS having to remove some copes (not part of the original job), wait for the roof work to be completed, then return to replace the copes. This was done without any fuss and to fit in with the roofers. His additional charges were very reasonable.

I have employed JMS Stonemason over the course of the last few years to replace weather-worn stone window sills, to rebuild and repoint front garden wall and to lay a new front path. All this work was carried out at realistic prices and with great skill and professionalism.
On 24th January this year storm Eowyn toppled a 30m high tree in the rear garden onto the 2m high stone boundary wall. There was extensive damage and I had concerns that the weight of the tree could cause further damage to the wall and adjacent outbuildings. Without hesitation Jimmy came round at the weekend to check on the stability of the remaining wall. Thankfully the lower art of the wall was still structurally sound. Following the removal of the fallen tree Jimmy and his son Callum rebuilt the section of wall damaged by the tree. The quality of the work was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. A truly professional stonemason. I have no hesitation in recommending JMS Stonemason and will definitely use this company in hte future should a need arise.
