I cannot thank Lisa, Chris, Dawid, and the whole team enough. Due to a miscommunication NOT of their doing the work was delayed but they were kind and friendly to me each time I called. Once the work started they were quick, kept me updated, and Dawid did a great job getting power back in my flat. He even set the cooker clock to the right time! I cannot thank them enough.

Had an EV charger installed at an apartment, so a bit more complex than normal, scheduling surveys and the install was seamless and they were prompt and patient with a lot of questions from an EV novice. Brandon and Kyle who completed the install were great and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

Ideal Electrical have just installed new dimplex storage heaters for me. Everyone was super helpful. The guys that carried out the work were personable, prompt and tidy workers. Mark the MD was very patient and responded quickly and helpfully to my emails. Unfortunately one of the storage heaters and the dimplex hub were faulty. Mark and Chris helped me liaise with dimplex re the heater and were quick to replace the hub. Without a doubt they would be my go to for any future work.

We contacted Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) Ltd in late July to quote for installing batteries to complement our solar panels (installed 2011) and to help our heating costs having replaced an old gas boiler with electric radiators/hot water unit. We needed the ability to store electricity at a cheap overnight tariff to power our daytime heating in the colder months - and we needed to avoid disqualifying ourselves from feed in tariff (FiT) payments which still have over 10 years to run.

Mark responded quickly to my query, visited the property and recommended suitable batteries. He answered all queries promptly and intelligently, the quote was competitive, and he and his team scheduled the installation to fit in with our own availability, agreeing with us the location of cabling and batteries and gaining the necessary permissions from the energy network provider. Work was carried out on time, neatly and professionally and with a minimum of fuss.

Now the colder weather is here we are delighted to have the benefit of the batteries - they charge overnight at cheap rate and power our heating during the day when it would otherwise be much more expensive. Very happy to have chosen IES as our installers and can sincerely recommend them on all counts.

I opted for solar panels and battery storage. The highly professional team were on site and took only one day for battery install and half day for panels (16) with wire mesh fitted to prevent birds nesting. Everything was explained throughout instal as the day went on.
The guys were highly knowledgeable when I asked questions and gave me peace of mind. Great instal price as well with a higher return from Octopus than expected. Solar/battery install

Very fast service overall. Been up and running for two weeks now, if I'd gone with other quotes - I'd still be waiting. Top service and communication, would happily recommend!

We had IES consult, plan, price and install a solar system with 16 panels, 2 batteries and an inverter fitted and from start to finish, the process was absolutely flawless. Mark was very detailed in explaining what had to happen at each point, what would happen and what the end result would be and he was absolutely true to his word. His team(s) were brilliant, the work and the finish were/are great and the system is working brilliantly and producing more than we probably expected in power. I’d been wanting this installed for years and bit the bullet for what is a long term investment, long term gain project and would highly, highly recommended the solar life to everyone!!

I am very pleased with the recent home battery and EV charger install by Ideal Electrical Solutions. Mark was super helful throughout the whole process, answering all the questions I had. Install took two and bit days and everything is working perfectly. I am easily able to track the performance of the system on the QCommand app and am pleased to see the 20kw battery is easily able to power my house all day using cheap electricity stored from the night time charge.

This is an update to a previous review of an outside spotlight installation. Fast forward a month later.
6pm at night a neighbour came over to complain about the spotlight being too bright & pointing in the wrong direction, through his window. I emailed Ideal right away on a Sunday night informing of the situation & asking if someone could come out the next day to reposition the light. They were accommodating and sen Chris back out on Monday afternoon at which point he was able to correct the issue. Would definitely recommend Ideal to anyone needing an electrician!

IES did a full house rewire for me and the job was done within a week and timing was exactly as planned. I did have to move out to allow for that rapid completion of the work, but given the disruption that a rewire causes I was happy to get out of the way. IES have completed EICR fixed wire electrical testing, new installations & reactive / call out work for us & have always done an excellent job.

PPM They look after our Water Monitoring, Emergency lights and other legislative compliance works, as well as reactive works, Their engineers are nice, presentable, and always do a good job for us. We always recommend and they are our first choice.

Facilities Management. IES works with us to deliver FM works to client in the Scotland Region. Works from Electrical EICR & Installation, to putting up clients signage.. they are happy to help. I had 2 x EICRs carried out on my rental properties and I needed 2 fuseboard upgrades, the quotes were emailed quickly and the work has been completed efficiently, I would thoroughly recommend this company. From my initial call to final certificates being received the service has been excellent.

Two visits, 1st to inspect and quote, 2nd to carry out. Fairly minor repair to old wiring. Engineer carrying out job found a couple of nasties but did pragmatic repair rather than condemn it all or leave me with no hot water. He also suggested putting in an isolator switch, not in original quote but I thought it seemed a good idea. And…..was charged no extra at all for that!!

I've been using Ideal Electrical Solutions for a number of years now for my domestic electrical needs. They have replaced bathroom extractors, fitted additional plugs in my electrical installation, advised on electrical vehicle chargers, fitted domestic fire alarms to comply with Scottish regulations and now installed me some new light fittings. They are always prompt to respond to my quotation requests. They have an online invoicing system to allow fast payments and they just provide generally good service which is very difficult to find with Edinburgh tradesman. Overall I've not had any issues using Ideal Electrical Solutions and I would fully recommend them to anyone looking for a solid reliable electrician.

IES provided a full test of the electrics when we moved in as we knew some work needed doing. They then provided their recommendations and we chose to have them complete the improvements including fitting a new fuse board and to also change some plug sockets and add some new ones. They were always on time, efficient, friendly and tidy. We left the quote a while before dealing with, due to other works, and they were still quick and helpful when we went ahead.
