Darren came to our rescue when another company pulled out at the last minute. He was reliable in all his communications from the start, which was one of the main reasons we chose him over others. He also gave us a very reasonable and very detailed quote.

Darren fitted a whole new shower, replaced the flooring in our hallway and fitted a new kitchen sink and tap. He was reliable and very tidy. He also advised us on how to best approach the project (and very kindly was available when we needed help buying the materials), as we had never done anything like this before. The end result is fantastic.

We are very lucky to have found Darren, and are sure to use him for other projects in the future.

I honestly don't think I can put into words how impressed we were with Darren. From start to finish Darren was the most professional and reliable genius we have met. Nothing is too big a job for Darren and he keeps you fully updated every step of the way. This was quite a big job, basically upgrading a whole house which had not been touched for many years, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, all new flooring and much more. Darren took on my kitchen refit when I had been let down by a previous fitter. I’m located on the second floor of a tenement so not the easiest to access. He came out to inspect the job returning with an electrician and plumber before giving me a quote.
While waiting for the job to start, Darren was very responsive and kept me informed of the start date.
The scope of the works involved removing the old kitchen, levelling the floor, moving services due to a new layout, fitting of the new kitchen and tiling.
Some bespoke joinery was created to house in the boiler and a window seat with storage.
I’m very happen with the standard of work done and Darren’s professionalism overall. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Darren came to my rescue when the bathroom floor in my less than 10-year old flat disintegrated. He visited to scale the job and provide an estimate at short notice, classified the situation as dangerous and fitted in the work within weeks although he is in very high demand.

He not only carried out the essential work but also improved the floor and flooring to prevent similar issues in the future, which I very much appreciate.

We needed a large bathroom repair done after a leak had caused damage. Darren was helpful and professional throughout the process, providing advice and completing the job to a great standard. He was easy to communicate with, and communicated well with our tenant too.

We booked Darren for our bathroom work after searching for the right trader for a long time. First off Darren's quote was very fair and second of all, he was responsive, answered all our questions and came quickly to assess the job (redoing main bathroom and converting a small box room into a shower room).

Getting a date for the job felt a bit long from agreement (almost 3 months) as Darren is in demand but once start date was confirmed, everything went smoothly. Darren did a lot of work himself, leaving things tidy each day. He also has a reliable network of traders (electrician, tiler, plasterer, plumber) who were all very professional and friendly. We ordered tiles and furniture ourselves but Darren picked up missing pieces with his trade account. He was also flexible when we changed our mind, giving good advice (for example getting a new bath instead of keeping the old one to keep with the room's updated design).

Finally Darren was also very kind to do a few fixes around the house. Would definitely recommend and will book again with no hesitation in the future.

Had the misfortune to have three burst pipes in the attic a week before Christmas. I called Darren through Trusted Trader along with another joiner's number who never got back to me. Darren came out straight away, surveyed the damage and booked the work in for early January. Very reliable workman and would recommend to others.

A previous builder had made a complete mess of stud wall and tiling of a toilet / shower room. I found Darren via trusted trader and was not disappointed. He is a busy man and has to be booked well in advance.
The work involved was total stripping out of a double tiled wall, removal of plasterboard, wedi board, and much of the poor quality stud timber work and replacing same. The tiling work was done by another tradesman, Graham, who also furnished first class work.
Both Darren and Graham were very tidy so I was not left with lots of mess to clear up.
I give a "4" rather than "5" for Value for Money as I do not have a good yardstick to make a judgement.
I have no hesitation in recommending Darren (and indeed Graham) to future customers.

Darren fitted our kitchen and utility room and we are very pleased with the end result.
He was professional, trustworthy and transparent throughout the job, always keeping us in the loop with the decisions that had to be made. He is also really friendly and easy to get on with.
Darren also found us a great decorator to paint the kitchen and utility room once his work was done and has a great network of tradespeople to call upon if the need arises.

Darren helped us out with a small tricky job of switching over an integrated fridge/freezer. It was made tricky as they no longer make appliances the size of our doors and the only one we could find that was close required the door fittings to be changed to hinges and a shelf to raise the height to accommodate the door split. He hade quick work of it and the job was done to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend. Very fair price too.

Having had Darren do our kitchen a couple of years ago, we were keen to have him complete our bathroom as well. As we expected, the work was completed to a high standard, in a timely manner, and with minimal disruption. We were really unsure of what to go for, and Darren was able to make suggestions and present us with the different options that we had.

Very good service when fitting my kitchen. Darren was very thorough, precise and always kept me updated or checked how I wanted certain things to be finished. Darren renovated our wee kitchen this summer. He and his team were really attentive to what we asked for and went the extra mile to refit some new worktops after the supplier provided the wrong ones. He was also happy to sort out some other niggly bits of joinery around the flat that had been bothering us, which he did to a good standard. We're really happy with the quality of the work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Plumbers had cut a hole in my bathroom floor to investigate a leak, which I was left to get repaired. It is a small room, but floor needed repaired and re-laid with vinyl. After having a number of problems with previous trades I was quite anxious about getting someone else in. However, I am very happy with the work and relieved to get issue sorted. Darren was very helpful, getting a couple of finishes for me to choose from, and left everything very tidy. Would recommend.

Our work was completed in July last year (2020) and we are still happy with the results! Our kitchen (which was ordered from Wren) was due to be fitted earlier in the year, but owing to the pandemic had to be rearranged. Darren was very accommodating considering how busy he was.

When completing the work, Darren was good to maintain a very tidy space and was very considerate of the fact we were working from home. He was also able to offer his professional opinion on any decisions we were struggling with. The work took a week start to finish and in this time he coordinated other trades for the project as well.

When an issue did arise, Darren was very quick to rectify this (even though it transpired it was a result of previous, unrelated work that had been done).

We were very happy with the service and the finish. Would use again, and would recommend.

I appreciated the quick reply to my initial text, visit to provides quotes for this and another possible job, and explaining the options. Darren has a friendly manner.

The job involved arranging multiple trades people visiting over a few days. I would have appreciated a little more communication around expected timing, as I sometimes waited in and at other times someone tried to visit when I didn't know to be home. However, I understand that it is difficult to keep tabs on other independent trades people, especially during the pandemic while they seem to be in very high demand.

I found Darren's suggestions about other possible work were helpful. Someone I know has requested Darren's details to arrange for him to do some work. I am hoping to move and, if the estate agents recommend further work, I will contact Darren to see about this.

Good quality work at a fair price.

We had a jamming garage door that Darren sorted out for us. Just a small job but he came at the weekend to fit us in. Job done well and Darren’s a nice bloke. Recommended.

Darren helped us refurbished the kitchen and other minor repair works around our one bed rental property. We think he is a trader that we can count on and turns out we are right. The works is finished to a high standard within the agreed timeframe, and Darren went beyond to helped us fix small things and disposed old furniture. Would highly recommend his team!

Darren quoted me £500 for half a day’s work. It seemed a lot but I was keen to get the work completed as soon as possible. I was happy with the work. It became clear that further work was urgently needed. Darren said that he would come to give me a quote to take on this extra work. Twice we organised for Darren to stop by, and twice I was kept waiting in all day only for him to not turn up. Darren came across as a really friendly man, but I wouldn’t use him again.

DS Joinery have fitted a brand new kitchen for us and have also done other work around the house. All done on time and at the time stated the job would be done.
The quality of work and the professionalism of this company, is what makes me want to leave this recommendation today.
Nothing appears to be too much trouble and all at a price that means you won't need to look for anyone else to do your Joinery work.

Darren replaced my bathroom floor and skirting as well as changing out my grotty tiles for wet wall (including some re-plastering) and replacing the shower screen and bath covering.

Although it took a while to lock in a date (understandable given Covid!) it was well worth the wait, and completed in a day.

Super friendly, always took the time to explain everything, and I'm so happy with my new bathroom wall and floor !

Darren helped us with a full kitchen refit earlier this year after moving into a tenement property. Before the work was carried out he viewed the kitchen to ensure he knew what we wanted and to provide an accurate quote.
Darren was professional and diligent in carrying out the work. When problems arose he consulted with us regarding the potential solutions and the other trades people he used for tiling etc, were of a similar high standard. His dedication for customer satisfaction and pride in his work was evident from start to finish.

Our utility room was badly kitted out. It had a rag bag of mismatched units, an illogical work flow and a washer-dryer that was awkward to access. We found a magazine photo of a design we wanted and Darren worked closely with us to realise the concept, making adjustments as necessary to deal with the limitations of the space available. He sourced all necessary units and accessories and arranged for the tiling to be carried out so that it was, for us, a one-stop shop. His own joinery work was first class. As a busy one man operator, he will usually not be immediately available and his responsiveness to emails is less than immediate, but a text usually works well and once started he sees the project through diligently. He was easy to get on with, a tidy worker who removed everything from site, leaving us able to immediately enjoy our transformed utility room. Highly recommended. The work was done to a high standard and I would recommend this trader.

Darren hung six doors, silenced a very noisy staircase, built and fitted doors for five access hatches. Excellent work. A very professional and friendly service. Now looking at additional work that he can help with when he is available.

We have used Darren before for small and bigger jobs. On this occasion Darren was doing our en-suite and a fantastic job he has done. Darren’s eye for detail is second to none and he went out his way to ensure the work and finish was of only the highest of standards.

We had a complete bathroom makeover and delighted with the results and workmanship.

I got my bedrooms and hallway new Ceilings done, new oak doors, Stairs way edging done and also new Skirting and facings and a cupboard done.
Darren done fantastic work and completing the work in stages and it was worth the wait on quote being done to having everything noted down and attention to detail.
Also has a plasterer Alex which was handy for doing additional work and quote.

DS Joinery was recommended to me by my Letting Agent.
My flat’s bathroom flooring was badly water damaged by an undetected leak and required replaced.
Darren worked with my spec and helped produce an insurance claim that covered part of a total refurb.
The two quotes were honest and competitive.
The job involved stripping out and replacing everything, that’s everything! The whole thing was completed very efficiently within a week, including some little finishing touches first thing on the Saturday morning before I visited. I was totally pleased with the result and my tenants totally love it.
There are no issues, great service and excellent work completed by DS Joinery. Highly Recommended and will use again.

Darren recently did a kitchen worktop and splashback replacement, fitted seven new internal doors with hardware, laid attic flooring and installed a loft ladder with custom hatch in my daughter's flat. I'm very pleased with the results and his workmanship, the worktop and matching laminate splashback is absolutely stunning, and I'm impressed too with the top quality materials and doors/handles he used too (Howdens).

All the work was completed on time in a week as promised, and while there were a few little snags and challenges along the way - as there always are in any job - Darren found a way to sort it out. He is always happy to deal with questions and was very helpful to me with some other issues too. There was a problem with the loft ladder sticking a few days after the job was completed, he was happy to come back and fix that too.

I can highly recommend Darren and would be happy to use him again next time I need a joiner.

Darren replaced all of the windows and doors in my house and also relaid my kitchen flooring.
Throughout the process Darren offered expert advice and recommended practical solutions to my house maintenance issues. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt supported through the process. Darren removed our old kitchen, lowered the ceiling, fitted the new kitchen and carried out extensive repairs to the walls and floor of our kitchen and utility room. He also custom built cupboards in our utility room to match those in the kitchen.

We've worked with Darren before so he was our first choice when we were organising a new front door for our communal stair. We did get a quote from another joiner but Darren's was the most competitive and we felt it really represented value for money.

Darren placed 4 new locks on doors/cupboards within my flat. He attended promptly and supplied an outline of work he could provide with a quote. Grateful he could squeeze me in as he had a number of other larger jobs to work on. He spent time ensuring the job was done correctly and explained the reason for any slight alterations . Job was probably longer than intended (mainly due to the locks I had purchased!) but still honoured the price he quoted, great value for money on a quality job. Darren replaced my mother's bathroom floor and some of her hall floor after a bad leak. He carried out the work efficiently and finished within the day, after we'd received two quotes for the job taking three days, and being a lot more expensive. He was courteous and helpful, and very professional. He and his mate worked hard to get the job done and let my mum back in her flat the same night.

Darren was kind enough to take on completion of renovations to our new home after our previous contractor let us down. Once we had agreed a date to start work, he arrived on time and proved to be extremely skilled and knowledgeable. There was a bit of a delay in Darren getting to us as he was busy with other work but once he got here we were delighted with his work. He fitted new skirtings and door facings in our hall, hung 3 new doors and boxed in our power meters and a pipe. Our flat is really old and any work usually presents a challenge but Darren didn't seem fazed by this. He talked us through any issues and asked for decisions where necessary. Other than than, he just got on with it and worked steadily til the work was complete. He was friendly and chatty and worked flexibly around our young children, clearing up as he went along. Our hall is transformed and we wouldn't hesitate to contact him again.

Darren was very friendly and professional in his approach. Had a couple of small-ish jobs to do round the flat including building a corner cupboard around a new boiler and lining and putting shelves in the old boiler cupboard. Quote was very reasonable and fitted the job in on a Saturday so that I wasn't waiting too long. The job also took longer than he expected and he stayed late to finish. I Was very happy with the end result as well.
