We had a flickering garage light, and the fault couldn't be traced.
Although a very small job, I needed professional help to sove the problem for once and for all.
Because he was local, and we always want to support local businesses, I contacted Craig and he could not have been more helpful and was very efficient.
He traced the circuit and checked all connections, and very quickly discovered the problem and repaired it.
Yes it was a small repair but meant a lot to us as we go in and out of the garage daily.

Work has been done over a number of years from full rewiring, replacement of damaged switches, replacement of extractor fans, external lights etc. Craig is a quick and tidy worker who comes at the time agreed. Responds as quickly as he can to urgent requests.

Got Craig & Tam to fit a EV charger and downlights in my kitchen.
Prior to the work commencing they advised me the best way for the insulations to be installed.

We had emergency lighting testing, PAT testing and EICR carried out. Craig Brown is very reliable and carries out the work efficiently.

Craig recently carried out work on a rented property which needed a new fuse box, upgrading of power sockets and the smoke/heat detection system. He also completed the EICR. This was all done efficiently in the time scale agreed and the place was left clean and tidy afterwards. I would certainly use this business again and have no hesitation in highly recommending Craig.

Craig installed a new kitchen fan for us which involved coring a 150mm hole in the wall to the outside. The price quoted was competitive and he responded fairly promptly over email, so when restrictions allowed the work was carried out. The fan works perfectly as expected and does a great job extracting all the moisture while cooking.

A couple of issues we had with the work were that while he did say that there would be damage to the walls in order to fit the wiring, it would be plastered and made good for painting. Unfortunately the finish was not great due to a very quick job and the material used shrunk so I had to re-plaster myself. Another point to raise if you are considering this work is the amount of dust and debris that will be produced, if we had a warning beforehand we could have prepared the kitchen better and covered the surfaces with some dust sheets. I did raise these issues afterwards but got no response. Overall though we are happy that we had this kitchen fan installed and it will improve the house over the years to come.

I initially contacted Craig to replace my old fuse box. During that job he tested all my sockets and found an alarming number of them hadn't been earthed (by previous owner)! I've since had him back to rectify the sockets and replace two old storage heaters. Due to my work and the various lockdowns, we had to rearrange the work a few times but he was always really accommodating and quick to respond. Will definitely use again in the future.

Requested a replacement for my cooker hood and send a picture of my existing one as was looking for similar. Craig Brown Electrical stated they could source and quoted me £330. I therefore presumed the hood would be a good quality one so went with this company. They fitted a basic one retailing at £55 (I researched the model). However, they still initially tried to charge me £330. When I queried this, they said it was an invoicing error (I don’t think I believe this) and the invoice was changed to £174. Ironically, I would have happily paid more as I actually wanted a decent hood but instead I’m left with a basic one. However, I fully accept I should’ve asked which hood they were going to fit but if you use this company check the invoice thoroughly. Can’t fault their work though as no real issues on that front.

From first contact to job completion everything was perfect. Arranged to come out and look at what was needed. Was prompt, efficient and advised and suggested other work that needed completion. The work was carried out quickly, efficiently and safely, and to a very high standard. Highly recommended and great value.

Fitted a weatherproof external socket wired in to a new breaker in the distribution board. Came when they said they would and did a lovely neat job. Fast, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

I'm a landlord who operates a single 5 bed HMO property in Edinburgh. I contacted Craig, based on his reviews here, to carry out an EICR report for my property in central Edinburgh. It can feel like a bit of a gamble contacting tradesman without a personal recommendation, but Craig provided the perfect service. He was able to attend at reasonably short notice, was very friendly and easy to work with, arrived on time, carried out the inspection efficiently and communicated at every step. He charged what he quoted and was also able to carry out some small bits of maintenance work during the inspection, at a very reasonable cost. No pressure tactics, no nonsense. Craig came to change a pendent light fitting in the bathroom
for a flush fitting light.
I had tried to do it myself but as it required some change in the wiring I had not been successful. Craig did the job in just over half an hour in a very professional manner.
