ReviewSummary: A well planned extension rebuild that met timescale, budget and customer expectations.

My house had an old lean-to extension at the rear. It was looking the worse for wear and I decided I'd re-clad it in PVC.

When I started ripping the old timber cladding off I realised that the whole thing was basically rotten and needed significantly more than a re-clad.

I looked around for local joiners and liked the look of the Glennifer Joinery website. Their experience and the services they offered ticked most of the boxes on my list.

Chris came out to take a look. After a thorough inspection he proposed demolishing and reforming the walls and glazing, while saving the roof and brick base.

This seemed a sensible proposal, so I asked him to quote on that basis. I accepted the quote (which was clearly written, comprehensive and seemed reasonably priced) and he scheduled me in.

The project was completed to plan, budget and timescale. Chris and Jim are expert joiners and make a formidable team. They are easy to get along with, and are no trouble to have around the place.

The extension also needed it's gutter to be tied into the main rainwater drainage, calling for a new 4 metre underground channel. Chris built this into the project, using another colleague, coincidentally also called Chris.
