Colin and the team replaced the flat roof on part of our basement flat, which was showing some leakage, with minimal fuss and real expertise. Recently had works undertaken to fit new fascias and cladding, replace our old guttering and sort the dormer window roof. Colin and the team were brilliant, particularly noting we live abroad! Very prompt attention for house gutter cleaning

Ridge tile and flashing repairs. Colin responded to our call very quickly and came down the same day to give us a quote. Repair carried out the following day. We are very happy with Colin's work and would have no hesitation in calling on him for any future repairs.

1st time persistent leak on conservatory found and fixed no further problems
2cnd time my big garden shed roofing felt was in poor condition after 20yrs+ full replacement now have a leakproof workspace. Great fast and efficient service both times all at reasonable cost.

Mainly lead work to a pent roof. Repairs were undertaken to disintegrated coping stones which were coated in lead to prevent water ingress. A new watergate was created from lead to prevent water leaking under roof tiles. The workmanship is excellent and has provided a robust solution to a long-term problem. I am very relived that it has finally been addressed in a professional and reliable way after previous dealings with another company which failed to fix the problem.

The firm fixed some broken roof tiles that were suspected of causing a leak. The leak was fixed on completion of work.

Replaced harling at the front and back of the house

Had a leaking roof and contacted colin who was kind enough to visit the next again morning. He examined the felting and tests the drainage identifying that it was in fact a plumbing issue. Despite his time he wouldnt accept any payment instead suggesting a just leave a review.

Building of six flats (including a council owned flat), needing work done to roof/guttering/downpipes in response to an ESRS survey.

Colin came to give us an initial quote and visited later again in person after questions from owners in the building to give a follow-up quote for extra pieces; he wanted to see for himself rather than relying on photos I had sent, which I appreciated.

He was very flexible when it came to working with us as a group of owners and had the patience to work alongside us with the council side of things.

Once we had a scheme decision from all owners and a confirmation letter from the council, he booked us in within a week or so.
The scaffolding went up and they went to work, fixing various aspects of our roof slating, the harling in many places we'd identified, replacing the metal guttering entirely and renovating/painting the downpipes and replacing sections. During the work he sent photos of what had been done, which the council also appreciated seeing as work progressed.

Part way through the work, a comment was made that the valleys could do with treating to preserve the metal. The communication around it was a bit rushed but a small quote was given for it, we got all the owners' agreements and the work was added to the final bill and the council's application with no issues.

Through the work, his team was polite and efficient, completing a lot of work across the 3-4 weeks they were here.

Colin and the team completed significant repair work to outhouse roof making the entire structure totally sound. The whole process, - from initial contact, through negotiation, discussions, and all aspects of works right to the end result was excellent. The team were very professional, skilled and thoroughly reliable throughout, leaving the site in excellent order. Colin himself was absolutely great and kept us informed and updated at every stage. After reading all the positive reviews on here, contacted L&E to get our gutters cleared. Prompt, friendly and efficient communication from MaryAnn. Turned up when they said they would, cleared all the debris from the gutters and took it all away. Happy customer, would recommend.

Colin was quick to respond and inspect the site, was clear and effective in his communications and provided a very professional service replacing zinc and hip ridges and many missing slates as well as remortaring the skews. I was let down very badly by a company hired to replace my roof to the point the new roof had to be entirely removed and replaced. When work was quoted for they explained clearly how they would approach the work and what would be done/what was included in quote.
I was kept up to date with expected start date for work and sent regular progress updates once it started. The work was completed in 2 weeks (did get lucky with the weather enabling this). The team were polite and respectful.

I contacted Colin to enquire if it would be possible to get an assessment after a tile fell of my roof and others looked a tad suspect. I also asked if he would look at a leaking gutter that dripped onto my conservatory roof. He responded quickly, came out to take a look within a matter of days and provided an estimate that same evening. He was professional and understanding in his assessment and assured me it was not a major issue and not to worry and he would get it done as soon as possible. His estimate was fair, his attitude and approach spot on. He carried out the work on the roof, mended the offending bit of guttering and left no mess. After dealing with 3 companies who did not repair the roof leak, my fault for not checking out Trusted Trader, I contacted L&E Roofing who replied quickly, came out to look at the job next day and while he was here I asked about painting the gutters and downpipes. Leaky gutters removed and replaced on semi-detached house. Colin responded quickly to our initial request and provided estimate the same day he surveyed the gutters.

I contacted L & E for an emergency roof repair. Colin was here early the next morning and quickly identified the issue, then applied the emergency fix. I think this was the smoothest repair I've had since I bought this house. Highly recommended.

Some of my roof tiles needed replaced or secured. Response to my request for a quote was dealt with with minimal delay and when a date was set for the work to be done, the roofers carried out the work exactly as I had expected. We had lead flashing repainted, all gutters cleaned and 2 tiles replaced in preparation for solar panel installation. Colin was very flexible about doing the work around the installation dates we were given. We were out the day the work was done and that wasn't a problem. The work was carried out leaving everywhere tidy. There were a couple of things that got missed but we forwarded Colin photos and he sorted them the next day. Very satisfied.

This was a roof repair following the recent big storm. The initial visit to assesss and give an estimate was undertaken quickly and the quote provided soon thereafter. Very pleased with the service provided by L & E Roofing. Colin provided a prompt quote for re-slating a 4m x 3m lower section of leaking roof, to include new close boarding where necessary, breathable membrane, new lead work and overhaul of the old cast-iron skylight. The two actual ‘workers’ – Derek and Dylan – were very good and the ‘new’ roof looks fantastic. Although I knew some of the close boards were rotten and needed replacing, when the slates were totally removed it was obvious that far more boards needed replacing than were originally quoted for and a price increase was justified. Throughout the five days it took, Derek and Dylan worked hard all day, kept me updated and were pleasant and polite. Colin, who always responds quickly to emails/requests, was also a regular visitor. At the end they cleared up all the mess, took down the scaffolding platform in case the scaffolders were slow coming back, and left me a happy customer. While it has taken some months from quote to completion (weather, work load, holidays etc played a big part), I will want L & E Roofing back when it is time to overhaul the next section of my 150 year old roof.

WOW, wished I had found Colin and L&E Roofing sooner. Having had numerous calls, texts and emails ignored from other Roofing companies, or quotes not provided, it was a pleasure dealing with Colin and his team.

Messaged Colin and he replied promptly, arranging a suitable day and time to come out and look at the work required. He turned up at the agreed time and was friendly and courteous. Colin was very thorough and informative looking over the gutters and downpipes and gave valuable advice. I thought I'd need to replace my gutters and downpipes, but Colin reassured me that it was only the gutters that needed replaced and he actually saved me money.

Colin sent the quote the same day and managed to fit me in within two weeks, due to the leaking water potentially causing damage. Colin arrived with Derek and Dylan and explained the work needing done. The work was completed over two days with the gutters being replaced and painted, the soffit, fascia and downpipes at the front and back being sanded down and double coated with exterior wood and metal paint, as well as missing roof tiles being replaced and a cowl fitted on my chimney. The workmanship was outstanding from start to finish and Derek and Dylan were friendly, helpful, polite and professional and kept me updated on their progress. All the debris was also removed after completion and my gardens tidied to a high standard.

Colin and his team did a great job replacing 40+ slates on a pitch roof, repointing two skews, pointing copes and waterproofing a portion of a flat roof which had failed. The quote was extremely competitive and Colin found a way to offer days that were suitable to both me and my partner. The team was very friendly, polite and made sure we knew what was happening at different stages (clear quote, emails, pictures, conversations, etc...).

Needed the felt on two areas of flat roof replaced. Colin was quick to come and give a quote and responded pretty well immediately to emails or texts. Marianne was also very friendly and efficient on the phone.
I had to wait a few months, but that was expected as my roof was not actually leaking and their other jobs had been postponed because of shocking weather.
After discussion I opted for two layers of felt on the larger area and rubber on the smaller area. (This involved stripping off the felt, a layer of hardboard and a layer of felt)
The two Ds (Dylan and Derek ) worked hard in adverse, windy weather, communicated well with me as to their progress and showed me photos. Very polite with a good soh and a pleasure to deal with.
Colin also sent photos at the end of each day.
On completion on day 3 Colin removed all the debris.

Colin and his team repaired our crumbling chimney stack which was leaking water inside the house, and applied new render. They also fixed leaks in our gutter joints including fitting a new length of cast iron guttering and repainted all our gutters and downpipes. However, we were so glad we agreed to wait as it was well worth it. Used quality materials and had a high calibre of workmanship and care to the surround property and guttering. Attention to detail meant an excellent final finish. People have already commented on it. Wouldn't hesitate to use again for all other roofing repairs or a new roof etc. Very happy.

My Mother had multiple issues with her roof, and had tried another Company on several occasions, without success. Colin was recommended to us and he reluctantly took on the corrective work which resulted in a completely new roof having to be installed to ensure that it was fit for purpose. Having tried in vain to rectify the existing roof, Colin took into account this failed remedial work when quoting for the larger job. Derek, Dylan and the team carried out the works during a period of mixed weather and I was sent photos of the work as it was completed - excellent Communication and meant I didn’t have to be present throughout the works. Thanks also to Maryann who was very efficient and helpful any time we had to contact the office.

We engaged L&E Roofing to rectify work that had been carried out by another company that wasn't functioning. From the first contact with Maryann to the completion of the job, our experience was like night and day compared to the previous contractors. Colin gave us a very fair and honest assessment of this prior work and how to fix the issue. Derek and Dylan who carried out the work were brilliant; prompt, polite, tidy etc. They were here when they said they would be, a trait which is sadly very rare it seems. We had a tile that had slipped causing a leak and our gutters needed cleared. Colin came out the same day to take a look at the problem and came back the very next day to fix it due to the weather forecast being for rain. This was a few weeks ago and was waiting for heavy rain before leaving an honest review. Problem appears to be sorted as it has been raining all afternoon and we do not have any signs of the leak.

Needed a broken tile replaced on Garage roof, was given a quote and time for the work to be completed. They arrived on time and completed the work quickly and cleaned up afterwards. Firstly I would say I don’t give 5 stars to anything!
Colin and his team firstly did interim work before Christmas to try to protect me after botched work before.
The main work started end of February/ beginning of March but we were then mightily inconvenienced by the weather. But through all that time I felt supported by Colin and his men. Derek needs a particular call out as he braved wind and rain to keep me safe . Even when no work could be done someone came to check on things.
It was a complicated roof but with perseverance it is all done .
As yet. ( 8 th May ) I have had no rain to test the whole roof but I am confident that it is now totally waterproof. And in the absolute off chance it isn’t then Colin will sort it

The job was a small one, to replace a tile and check the roof for any other defects. In contrast to other companies I tried to contact I received a phone call within 48 hours, the work was arranged to suit my timetable and carried out in timely and professional manner.

We needed to renew and replace our guttering, facing board and soffits, front and back. Colin and his team did an excellent job from start to finish, with a very high standard of workmanship.

When ridge tiles had been blown of due to a very bad storm, I had no hesitation in ‘phoning Colin, (I’ve used his company before) he came out within an hour, explained in a professional and friendly way what needed to be done and true to his word, a few days later, his men arrived to do the work, they were very polite and friendly and got the work done. I had seen work carried out by L&E Roofing on a house nearby and through all stages the work looked good so when my chimney roughcast needed repair I contacted Colin. His response with the estimate was very quick and efficient. He always kept me fully informed of each stage of work from scaffolding, materials and job progress. The men turned up on time, worked hard, kept the site tidy and finished off the chimney roughcast to a high spec. The site was all cleaned up and scaffolding removed soon after. Colin and the team did a roof repair to our block of flats, replacing all broken tiles, ridges, guttering, flashing etc. They also painted all new cast iron guttering and downpipes. They discovered cracked rendering on one of the chimneys which they promptly repaired. This fixed a leak which other roofers had been unable to resolve. Colin's communication and professionalism was second to none. He sent us daily updates and photos tracking the progress of the work. From first contact through to the work being carried out, L & E Roofing were first class. Clear communication on when they come to assess work, when and how long they would be on site, advise re work required with options and clear costings. Team worked hard on the job and cleared up all debris afterwards. All work completed to high standard.

The work that was carried out was to replace the Welsh slate under Velux window, remove all rusty ridge straps and supply and fit new galvanised ones and to fit back a lead capping piece which had fallen off. All valleys were painted , lead gutters cleaned out and all debris removed. A tidy job.
All the work was carried out by Darren and Dillon who worked consciously, were very polite and competent. They are a credit to the business.
Colin and his team will be returning before the winter sets in to repair and re-point the sandstone on my cottage.
