SCOTSS Approved Trader


The Society of Chief Officers of Trading Standards in Scotland (SCOTSS) have created a trader scheme aimed at traders and businesses across the Scottish mainland and islands, who don't already have a local Trading Standards trader scheme.

Approved Traders have been vetted by SCOTSS and the scheme is supported by Police Scotland and consumeradvice.scot

All members have agreed to trade fairly and sign up to a Code of Practice.
The Code covers:
  • transparent procedures for quoting and carrying out work
  • only charging a fair and reasonable price
  • dealing with complaints promptly
You can search for vetted traders on this website as well as view feedback and comments left by previous customers.

Help support the scheme by reviewing any Approved Traders you have used.

If you would like to become a SCOTSS Approved Trader and have a minimum of six months clean trading history, then fill in the online application form.
