Renfrewshire Trusted Trader application process

You need to have a minimum of six months trading history to apply to become a Trusted Trader.

All applicants will be vetted by Renfrewshire Trading Standards Officers. In order to carry out the vetting, the information you supply to us will be used and shared with partners solely for this purpose. Details of all the checks and our partners are available here. There is an annual fee of £240 including VAT, which is fully refundable if an applicant fails the initial vetting process.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Unfortunately due to the current Coronavirus situation, no new applications are being accepted for the time being. Trading Standards resource allocated to Trusted Trader are unable to carry out any more background checks and vetting, as they have been deployed to more urgent matters.

Any applications currently in progress will be completed and vetted, but we are unable to accept any fresh applications until the situation has stabilsed.

There is a steady stream of applications each month, so if you would like to be considered for the Trusted Trader Scheme, please fill in our expression of interest form. We will hold your details, and once applications are open again we will get in touch to see if you are still interested.

The Trusted Trader team is available and any enquiries, problems or consumer complaints will be dealt with as normal. We simply are unable to process any new applications until the situation goes back to normal.
