The roofing crew worked continuously for three and a half days. They were very professional and friendly.

I had an extremely severe case of condensation in the loft space of my 11 year old bungalow. I had used SM Roofing in the past to successfully repair/ replace parts of my conservatory gutter system and so called Stevie for advice on my condensation problem. He arrived next morning at the agreed time and carried out an inspection of my roof and my loft space. He came to the conclusion the problem was due to lack of ventilation and suggested removing a dozen roof tiles (large roof area) & replacing them with universal vent tiles. He gave me a call that afternoon to say he had sourced vent tiles in a matching colour & gave me a price for the job which I agreed to. A week later Kelly called to arrange a date for fitting. The boys arrived on time on the day and explained the job in detail. All the work was carried out externally on a freezing cold day and on completion asked me where I wanted the removed tiles stored. There was no mess left and the boys even refitted 2 displaced hip tiles which had slipped out of position some time ago. Great service. After 3/4 weeks the loft space is bone dry. Not a trace of condensation. Magic. I would use this company again and definitely recommend them.

Guttering and facings had to be replaced on my brick-built garage. The work involved the removal and replacing of roof tiles. Really nice job. Very pleased.

I needed work done on my stairwell, lintel and chimney and found it very frustrating trying to deal with tradesmen who couldn't even be bothered to return my calls much less come to give an estimate! I knew immediately that SM Roofing & Building were a different sort of company. Stevie (the boss) turned up exactly when he said he would, spent time having a thorough look at the work needing done, and my (very reasonable) estimate was with me the same day. When I had a couple of queries, Kelly in the office was friendly, organised, fantastic to deal with and responded straight away.

The work carried out has been done to a very high standard, and the guys doing the jobs were punctual, professional, very pleasant and left the place immaculate after them. Communication and reliability were excellent.

I had a new roof, gutters, soffits and fascias installed.  Everyone from Stevie to Kelly and the tradesmen were very helpful and have done an excellent job.  Kelly went the extra mile to ensure no delay in installation and advised alternative tile solution as production of original tile was scarce. Tradesmen were very tidy and cleaned up after themselves.  I would have no hesitation in using them again.

Reliably came out when requested/arranged to provide a quote and then completed the work within a relatively quick timeframe inline with the quote. Work of a good quality.

The very old roof on our cottage was in a bad state of repair. There was water ingress every where that you looked. S M Roofing and Building Ltd carried out a superior job, and the quality of the work is tremendous. They are a very enthusiastic and cheery team of roofers. They worked hard, and were always polite. We now have a dry and water-tight building, with lots of natural light due to the new Velux windows. All the skew stones have been finished in lead, as are the gully's. It just looks amazing, and has given the cottage a new lease of life. We have had numerous positive comments from neighbours, with particular emphasis on the lead work.

Excellent job fixing roof , the men who carried out the work were polite, on time and tidy. So pleased and have already instructed them for further work.

After having another local company out (who were complete cowboys that did works to gain further jobs) I was quite anxious about other roofers providing the same sort of service. But SM Roofing's name was thrown into the hat many times by clients of mine. From the first point of contact (Kelly) to the lads knocking the door to say all done. I won't have any hesitation in passing on their details. Honest from the start. My only regret is not getting them to do it in the first place and instead going with a cheaper quote. Sometimes if you pay peanuts you get monkeys and there are none of them at SM Roofing.
16 weeks of dreading every single day's weather forecast has been lifted off my shoulders. Roll on the rain and snow.

My flat roof was leaking water into the bedroom and was needing a reliable company to attend to this urgently.
I contacted SM Roofing Glenrothes and spoke to Kelly in the office and was told the owner Stevie would come to my home to assess what was required at 9am Tuesday and at 9am and on the dot Stevie was at my door.
He knew they urgency and got his guys Mark & Conner straight onto the job, they were so polite and professional I could not have got a better service anywhere.

Required renewal of gutters to one side of two adjoining properties. Stevie McQueen surveyed the job and sent a quote for works involved on same day. Roofers turned up as advised on first available day and work was completed to excellent standard. Very satisfied with customer care and liaison throughout. The cost of the work was very competitive and offered terrific value for money. Would recommend this firm to anyone seeking roof/gutter repairs or replacement. Steve came quickly and gave a competitive price for the job of renewing the leaking garage roof. Within a few weeks a couple of his team came and efficiently removed the old roof leaving no mess. They did an excellent neat job of renewing the roof. It comes with a 10 year guarantee. It now looks like a brand new garage. I have no hesitation in recommending SMRoofing and Building Ltd.

Whilst replacement of the guttering is on the back burner for a number of reasons Stevie, having inspected my mum's roof, identified the issues, outlined costs and added her address to the companies maintenance list. Excellent overall experience. Work done to the highest standards and in good time. Was advised to go for grey tiles rather than terracotta and the result on my bungalow and garage is stunning. It also blends nicely with other houses in the street which generally have faded terracotta.


The initial quotation was very fair and prior to and throughout the construction I was kept regularly informed as to what was happening.


I would recommend Stevie to anyone in Fife who requires a replacement roof.
