I had high quality shutters installed on three large arch windows. The “in person” customer service and knowledge I experienced from the initial interaction with the showroom staff (Wilma) to the first visit of the product demonstration and quotation expert (Kevin) to the high precision installation (Stevie & Jay) was excellent. This is the second time I have ordered shutters, from The Edinburgh Shutter Company my first was for my sitting room in 2019. I ordered 4 sets off shutters in February 2023, I was informed off “up to” 16 week delivery which set my expectations. They were fitted today, arrived first thing this morning and the attention to detail was brilliant and there was no mess left. I would highly recommend Edinburgh Shutter Co. I have just had various blinds fitted and also shutters in the front rooms. The service from start to finish has been brilliant. Responsive, friendly and helpful. Professional at all times. I would like to add a special mention to Stevie and Jay who fitted the shutters. From the minute they arrived, until the completion of the job, they did not stop. Clean, tidy and attention to detail was very impressive. Nothing was any trouble and they even helped me with removing the curtain pole as I was struggling, even although it is not their responsibility. The team were great from the 1st visit for a quote to the fitting of the shutters, delighted with the product. Delivery of shutters friendly, then the lovely Aggi turned up and did a fantastic job at fitting them. All boxes and packaging removed, and left clean and tidy. Fantastic service from start to finish! We had a home visit and were advised of which products/style would suit us. Couldn’t be happier. Measuring up was done quickly and efficiently at a time that suited us and installation was weeks ahead of schedule and again quick, efficient and without mess!

Recently got both roman blinds and poles fitted in my newbuild house. The quality of the blinds are beautiful and a wide range to pick from in the showroom. The two guys who came were absolutely fab, quick, professional and very helpful- advised where to put the poles to fit the curtains. Would recommend this company!

We bought shutters and blinds from The Edinburgh Shutter Company when moving to our new build about three and a half years ago. We were delighted with the products, fitting and service. Just recently I noted the cords from one of blinds had come loose and several strings were hanging down. My concern was that it hadn't lasted very long. I rung the Edinburgh Shutter Company. Lynsey was more than helpful. I emailed her pictures of the problem and she arranged for Kevin from Albany Blinds to come out to my home and fix the problem. All done and dusted in very little time. I have had window shutters fitted to my bay window and the service from start to finish was great! Very friendly staff both in shop and when fitting shutters. Would highly recommend.

They fitted a new Perfect Fit blind - £120.00. A bit expensive, but the fitted blind works perfectly. Knocked all the bottles of aftershave etc off the window sill. One of the bottles has hit the actual toilet and chipped it - see photos. Called and spoke with the owner. He said he had spoken with the guys that had fitted it and they said they hadn’t caused the chip. I have to say that I have dealt with this company over the years and never-ever had an issue with them. But I can assure you that I will NEVER deal with them again. He completely washed his hands of this taking the word of his employees (would they ever admit to doing this) over a loyal customer. I am not and never will allow anyone to imply that I am lying, that includes the owner.

Once materials arrived and a date set, Aggy and Jamie duly arrived late on a Saturday evening to fit my shutters. I believe they were working weekends to address the backlog, which is creditable.

Both were extremely polite, worked diligently and left a beautiful finish. The house was spotless after they left too. I'd have no hesitation in placing future business with the ESC Ltd and can't praise their fitters Aggy and Jamie enough.

We moved into our house in Dunfermline at the end of January which had old brown venetian blinds throughout. Having seen plantation shutters in Australia in our son's house we were keen to have these installed throughout our house. This involved shutters on four sets of bay windows, several other windows and at the patio doors. We chose white shutters and were given helpful advice on the appropriate size of the louvres for our windows. We also got helpful advice on what would work best in front of the patio doors.

Two teams arrived on Friday 18th June getting finished by mid-afternoon. We are very pleased by the new shutters that give a clean bright look to the rooms. They have now been up for two weeks and we remain delighted by them.

We thought we had done our homework and got 3 companies to quote, however, the sales person from ESCo was definitely the most professional and provided a wealth of additional knowledge helping us make the right choice of materials, openings, finish and gave us an hones insight into the shutter marketplace. Thanks to him we went for full height shutters on all rooms instead of cafe style - which would have been a false economy (trying to save money). This professionalism and honesty was mirrored from the staff in the office and the fitting team of Stevie and Jay (always asked if they wanted us to take their shoes off when entering the house) who also noticed a manufacturer fault in the openings of one of the shutters. They immediately called the office and full replacement shutter unit was ordered FOC and now has been fitted to replace the wrong one so we were never without the full set of shutters. They weren't the cheapest nor in fact the most expensive quote we had had for solid wood shutters, however, it was well worth the peace of mind by dealing with a fulltime shutter company/team. The finish across 2 large bay windows and an office at the front of the house, plus, a bathroom at the back of the house were actually beyond our expectations and money well spent. We would highly recommend you at least talk to them when considering shutters.

We had two sets of bifold plantation shutters fitted to our garden room extension.
We already had exterior bifold doors fitted but the amount of sun getting through was difficult to regulate with simple roller blinds.

The process is lengthy as you have to book a site visit to have measurements taken to avoid costly mistakes of self measurement.
After ordering it takes up to 8/10 weeks for manufacturing and delivery.
We were fortunate enough to get ours earlier and the fitting team arrived bang on time and date arranged.
The fitting was painless and perfect. The fitters( Steve and Rab) worked relentlessly and were extremely considerate and safe throughout.
The clean the whole area after installation and you wouldn’t know they had been there.

Edinburgh Shutter Company have fitted shutters in the bedrooms and bathrooms to our new build. A little delay completing the job with the COVID restrictions, but couldn't be happier with the product and service. Finishes off the rooms beautifully.

Had shutters fitted around our home. We found Edinburgh Shutter Company very easy to deal with and they did not hard sell. Their design is beautiful and the shutters have worked brilliantly. I ordered shutters and venetian blinds in January 2020 and had the initial lead time of 8-12 weeks for the shutters. We managed to have the venetians installed on the 21/2 by a sole lady installer, and no issues here at all. She was tidy, polite and quick at quite a big install.

Obviously, through no fault of the company, Covid 19 struck, and our timeframe was delayed.

We were awaiting the shutters as they came from China, and factories over there would be affected.

Finally, we were advised install could take place 8/5.

When install day came, we were really excited. The initial lady installer arrived with a man installer and set to work on my living room and front facing bedrooms.
Covid measures were in place, both wearing masks and we left them isolated in the rooms they needed to be in.

Unfortunately, when the installers left, we noticed a large score in the left shutter in the living room with a wet white residue (?paint, going by a small tub of white liquid left behind) with what looked like a repair attempt was made. We were not made aware of this at all as we were observing social distancing and were not able to look at the workmanship before they left. We were left feeling quite miffed.

I contacted Wilma, who was apologetic and explained for a replacement, we'd need a shutter to come again from China.

This took many weeks and finally when it came, I was rebooked in for 14/10.

Unfortunately, the team arrived without the shutter needed to fix my damaged one, so a wasted day off. I contacted the company and we rescheduled again, this time for today (09/11)

Today I am really annoyed. 2 of your team arrived (one being the man from the shutter install in May and a younger man), both not wearing masks.
I departed to my dining room to not be around when the work was being done.
I was advised it was finished, and came into my living to find 3 men now, none of which wearing masks and all with their shoes on, which have left mud on my carpet.
The 3rd man who wasn't there when I initially answered the door reached to pet my dog, and I explained to him I was asthmatic and feeling uncomfortable, he reacted rudely.

They then left.

I just feel, given the length of time this whole process has taken, and given the fact the delays were caused by the ongoing pandemic, your staff could be a bit more mindful entering the house of a single female, which can be intimidating. Not wearing masks puts me at risk and also trailing mud into my house is just disrespectful.

I also feel if your staff are exempt from wearing masks, this should be communicated to me in advance to give me the opportunity to wait for a member of staff who could wear a mask, given I have a health issue that would make me more at risk from Covid 19.

I'm really saddened by this whole process, from today's experience to the whole 10 months of interactions. I was looking to get blinds in my upstairs back bedrooms once I decided what to go for, but will not be returning to ESC unfortunately.

Shutters fitted in bedroom. They were delivered on time and fitted by Aggie & Jamie who did an excellent job. Would definitely use them again.

Just had my shutters fitted today I’m absolutely delighted with them the 3 fitters were amazing and very friendly very efficient also the guy Dillon who came to measure my windows in the beginning everything and every one was great thank you again Edinburgh shutter company

The Edinburgh Shutter Company supplied shutters for two windows. The varied choice of style, colour and finishings is excellent. The company fitted the shutters within the timescales they advised when they estimated the work. Aggie and Jamie fitted the shutters and their workmanship and professionalism is first class.

The shutters are really high quality and add elegance to my rooms. Shutters fitted on all windows apart from patio doors which had aluminium blinds fitted. Aggie and Jamie arrived on time and got to work right away. They were very friendly and professional. Everything was cleared away before they left and all shutters and blinds checked to my satisfaction. Service given from start to finish was excellent. Over the last 10 yrs I have, on three separate occasions, had shutters fitted in three rooms, two of which had two windows in the room.
While I was satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of the product, on the two previous occasions, I have never felt the need to make time to write a review before.
However, yesterday I had another two shutters fitted in our back bedroom and I really felt the need to write this review.
Aggie and Jamie left previous tradesmen at the starting line, in terms of taking a pride in their work and being great ambassadors for their company, nothing was too much bother. Even although Jamie said he was new to the job, there was no sign of that in the job he did and Aggie was so skilled and clearly highly knowledgeable and experienced, I could not rate her more highly. Please pass on my thanks and appreciation to both. The shutters raised the temperature of the room a very short time after they left. Many thanks for a first class job. This standard of work deserves recognition.

Shutters fitted on windows in lounge and 2 bedrooms. Very friendly and professional staff. Wilma in the office was extremely helpful over the phone and Aggie and Jamie did a fantastic job at fitting the shutters. The shutters are of a exemplary quality and really finish off the rooms. Had shutters and black out blinds fitted in my children’s bedrooms and the service was excellent. The initial visit to get a quote was super and it was clear they knew what they were talking about. They were able to advise and gave great suggestions. Any phone calls with the company to arrange a time for installation were great, really friendly and accommodating. The tradesmen who then fitted the shutters were brilliant. Arrived nice and early and I was able to leave them to it for a few hours and then the job was done. Cleaned up everything behind them and took time to explain to me how everything worked. Fantastic service, would happily use them again!

From showroom to pre order visit for estimate etc all staff were knowledgeable and explained all aspects of delivery, materials used and fitting of shutters very clearly.

Stevie and J fitted 3 sets of beautiful interior wooden shutters for my front room and 2 bedrooms. The quality of the work and the care they took to make sure the finish was spot on was exceptional. And they left my flat spotless! I was even able to keep working in while they completed the install.

Aggie and Jamie did a great job. We have installed shutters all around the house and Aggie has installed them all. The company has been very professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Was advised to use this company by someone in the industry. I was told they are the only company to use in Edinburgh for shutters.
Good communication from Wilma in the office, the salesman seemed to know his stuff and was not pushy.
Was told they would take about 8 weeks to arrive and be fitted and that proved to be accurate.
The shutters ( 5 in total between the livingroom and the bedroom) took about 3.5 hours to fit. The team arrived on time and there was no disruption and little fuss.
Aggie was in charge, and was very pleasant and seemed to know her stuff. She asked appreciate questions about what I wanted and did the job well. Jamie worked away well under her guidance.
The shutters look great and on day one do seem to be robust.
I did get costings and quotes from others and the Edinburgh Shutter Company was very comparable.

I am so in love with our new shutters. Took their advice on style and slat size for our window and they are perfect - adds touch of class to our newly decorated dinning room. We choose the white colour (001) and I am really pleased with it.
